ClickFunnels vs GoHighLevel for Coaches: 2026 Comparison

ClickFunnels vs GoHighLevel for Coaches: 2026 Comparison

ClickFunnels vs GoHighLevel comes down to what you are actually buying. ClickFunnels is a funnel and sales-page builder with email, courses, a community and a store attached. GoHighLevel (also known as HighLevel) is an agency-style marketing CRM with funnels, websites, calendars, SMS, invoicing and contracts, organised around sub-accounts. If you sell mainly through one launch funnel, ClickFunnels is the more focused tool. If your business runs on follow-up, texting and a sales pipeline, or you run a marketing agency on the side, GoHighLevel does more for the same entry price. Neither one delivers the coaching itself: no client habits, no daily check-ins, no structured 1:1 programs.

That last gap is why this comparison has a third column. We make Coachful, a coaching platform that puts funnels, booking, payments, programs and a branded client app behind one login, and we will say plainly where it beats both tools and where it does not. Vendor prices, limits and ratings below are as listed on each vendor's own pages in October 2026.

What is the short answer for each kind of coach?

Pick by the job you need done most often, not by the longest feature list. Here is the honest version:

  • Pick Coachful if you deliver programs over weeks or months and want booking, payments, contracts, habits, check-ins, courses, community and your funnel in one place, with the client using one branded app.
  • Pick GoHighLevel if you need a sales CRM with pipelines, SMS and automated follow-up, if you manage several brands or clients' businesses as sub-accounts, or if you want to resell software under your own name.
  • Pick ClickFunnels if your business is one or two big launches a year, a webinar or challenge funnel, and selling courses or digital products, and you are happy to run client delivery elsewhere.
  • Pick none of them if you need clinical records, insurance billing or a signed HIPAA business associate agreement as a standard feature. GoHighLevel sells HIPAA as an add-on; Coachful is not HIPAA-certified; ClickFunnels does not list HIPAA on its pricing page.

If you have already decided to move away from one of the two, our guides to ClickFunnels alternatives for coaches and GoHighLevel alternatives for coaches go wider than this head-to-head.

What are ClickFunnels and GoHighLevel, in one paragraph each?

ClickFunnels is a funnel-first sales tool; GoHighLevel is a CRM-first marketing operating system. That difference in starting point explains almost every gap between them.

ClickFunnels

ClickFunnels built its name on the sales funnel, the step-by-step path from ad or opt-in to checkout (the idea is older than software; see the purchase funnel model). Today the product bundles funnel and page building with email marketing, courses, communities, a store and an appointments app. Its pricing page lists plans by contacts, monthly email sends, workspaces, team members, domains, courses and AI words. On Trustpilot it shows 4.7 from 2,512 reviews as of October 2026.

Pick it over Coachful if your main revenue comes from launch funnels and digital products, you want funnels, a store and digital products at the centre of the business, or you need PayPal at checkout.

GoHighLevel (HighLevel)

GoHighLevel started as a platform for marketing agencies, and that DNA shows. Every plan is described in sub-accounts: Starter includes three, the higher plans unlimited. Inside each sub-account you get a CRM, funnels, websites, calendars, email and SMS, invoicing, contracts, courses and communities, with unlimited users and contacts. Messaging, phone and AI usage are metered on top of the plan. On Trustpilot it shows 4.9 from 15,250 reviews as of October 2026.

Pick it over Coachful if you need a multi-stage sales pipeline for a sales team, SMS built into your marketing, agency sub-accounts or a white-label software business, or HIPAA coverage you can buy as an add-on.

How do ClickFunnels and GoHighLevel compare side by side?

GoHighLevel covers more of a coaching business's marketing and admin; ClickFunnels covers selling more deeply than admin. Neither covers delivery between sessions. We rank on four criteria that matter most to coaches: one login for the whole client journey, delivery between sessions, total stack cost, and setup effort.

ToolBuilt forFunnels and websiteCRM and follow-upBookingBetween-session deliveryEntry price
CoachfulCoaches who deliver programs, solo or small teamWebsite builder with blog and custom domain, about 25 funnel templates, link-in-bio pageClient records with status, leads board, email sequences with branching; SMS and WhatsApp for remindersBuilt in, with two-way Google, Apple and Outlook sync and built-in videoPrograms, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals, streaks, branded client appLite: $29/month for up to 5 clients

The headline: at the entry tier, both vendors charge the same $97 a month on monthly billing. What you get for that money is very different, and so is what you end up paying on top.

How much do ClickFunnels and GoHighLevel cost?

Both start at $97 a month. ClickFunnels then climbs to $197, $297 and an annual-only Dominate plan at $5,997 a year; GoHighLevel climbs to $297 and $497, plus metered usage and a long list of paid add-ons. Here are the plans as listed in October 2026.

ClickFunnels' pricing is all-in for what it covers: the plan limits are the bill. The catch for a growing coach is the course and community cap. Launch allows three courses and three communities, so a coach with a signature program, a starter course and a membership is already at the ceiling. The stated annual savings are $194, $394 and $594 a year on the first three plans. ClickFunnels lists a 14-day trial and a 30-day money-back guarantee. For the full breakdown, see our ClickFunnels pricing guide.

GoHighLevel's plan price is only the base. SMS, email, phone numbers and AI usage are metered and billed separately, and the per-unit rates sit on separate pricing guides rather than the main pricing page. The trial is 14 days on any plan, billing starts automatically when it ends unless you cancel, and usage fees can apply during the trial itself. Our GoHighLevel pricing guide walks through the usage side in more detail.

What do the add-ons add up to?

This is where the two vendors split most sharply. ClickFunnels' pricing page lists no paid add-ons; GoHighLevel lists more than a dozen. The ones a coach is most likely to meet:

ToolBranded client appAI assistantHIPAAMessaging
CoachfulYour branding inside the Coachful app, included in your Coachful membershipMichelle: questions and planning included; confirmed builds and changes use AI creditsNot available; Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and signs no BAAEmail reminders, plus SMS (24 hours before) and WhatsApp (1 hour before) once messaging is enabled

ClickFunnelsNot listed on the pricing page1M to 10M AI words included, by plan; Scale lists voice AI coachingNot listed on the pricing pageEmail sends capped by plan, from 50K to 1.2M a month

GoHighLevel's list goes on: premium support at $500 a month, an SEO tool at $79 a month per sub-account, online listings at $30, a prospecting tool at $29, a dedicated email IP at $59 and a certification program at $97 a month. None are required, but each is a line on the bill if you want it.

A worked example: one solo coach, 20 active clients

Here is an illustrative monthly stack for a coach who sells a 12-week program through one funnel, books weekly calls, takes card payments and wants clients to log habits between sessions. These are example configurations on monthly billing, not quotes.

ClickFunnelsLaunch$97Client portal, habits, check-ins, contracts; typically a second and third tool

The ClickFunnels line looks cheapest until you add the tools that fill its gaps. A scheduling tool, a contract and e-signature tool and a habit or check-in app each add their own subscription; our Calendly pricing and HoneyBook pricing guides show what those typically run.

Which is better for funnels, websites and sales pages?

ClickFunnels is the more specialised funnel builder; GoHighLevel matches most of it and adds full websites in every sub-account. If funnels are the whole business, ClickFunnels' focus counts for something. If you also need a proper multi-page site, GoHighLevel gives you both without a separate website plan.

ClickFunnels lists unlimited funnels on Launch (marked "Limited Time" on the pricing page), five domains, and a custom code editor from Scale upward. Order bumps, upsells and a store sit alongside. The trade-off is lock-in: according to our September 2026 profile of ClickFunnels, funnels are proprietary and do not move to other platforms.

GoHighLevel includes funnels and websites as core features in every plan. Its edge for agencies is snapshots, which copy a whole account setup (funnels, sites, workflows) to another sub-account. That is a superb feature for an agency cloning the same setup for many clients, and largely irrelevant for a solo coach.

For comparison, Coachful's website builder is section-based, with a blog, custom domain, SEO settings, 30 designed homepage templates and an Import website option. Funnels cover booking, application, lead-magnet and checkout flows with pixels and UTM tracking, and there is a link-in-bio page that sells. It is built for coaching sites only: it is not a general website builder and does not take third-party plugins.

Which handles CRM, email and SMS follow-up better?

GoHighLevel, clearly. It was built as a CRM, so opportunities, conversations, email, SMS and workflows are its home ground. ClickFunnels' pricing page frames its contact side around contact counts and email volume, not a sales pipeline.

For a coach who sells high-ticket programs through discovery calls, GoHighLevel's mix of a CRM, SMS and email under one set of automations is genuinely strong. The cost is complexity and metering: SMS, email, phone and AI usage are billed on top of the plan, and there is a lot to configure before the system does everything you bought it for.

ClickFunnels' email is capped by plan: 50K sends a month on Launch, 300K on Scale. For a list of a few thousand people that is plenty. Contact caps (10K on Launch) matter more once lead magnets start working.

Coachful sits between the two. Each client record holds goals, check-ins, habits, notes, intake answers, tags, payments, sessions and an AI briefing, with a status of thriving, active, quiet or at risk. Leads land in a prospects list and board. Email covers lists, broadcasts and multi-step sequences with triggers, delays, branching and A/B splits. What it does not have is a multi-stage sales deal board for large teams or a Salesforce or HubSpot integration, and its SMS and WhatsApp messages are documented for session reminders. If you run a sales team or market by text, that is a real reason to pick GoHighLevel. More detail is on our coaching CRM page.

Whichever tool sends your email, US commercial email rules still apply. The FTC's CAN-SPAM compliance guide covers the basics: honest subject lines, a physical address and a working unsubscribe.

How do booking and calendars compare?

GoHighLevel has full built-in calendars; ClickFunnels has an appointments app; Coachful has booking built for coaching sessions, including paid sessions and session credits. The bigger difference is the video call.

GoHighLevel's calendars sit inside the same sub-account as its CRM and workflows. It has no built-in video rooms, so sessions run on Zoom or Google Meet links. ClickFunnels lists an appointments app among its included apps; if you need more than it offers, you would pair it with a dedicated scheduler.

Coachful's booking pages handle availability rules, buffers, minimum notice and time-zone detection, with two-way Google, Apple/iCloud and Outlook sync. Sessions run on built-in video or auto-created Zoom, Meet or Teams links. Intake questions can be asked at booking, and multi-coach session types can assign by round-robin or least-busy. It does not offer routing forms that pick a host from form answers. See scheduling software for coaches for the full list.

Which is better for courses, communities and memberships?

On limits, GoHighLevel: courses and communities are core features without the per-plan caps ClickFunnels applies.

ClickFunnels caps courses and communities by plan: 3 each on Launch, 6 on Scale, 10 on Optimize and 20 on Dominate. A coach with a single flagship course will not notice. A coach who builds a library of mini-courses will hit the wall on Launch quickly.

GoHighLevel includes courses and communities in every sub-account. A branded mobile portal for those members is the $49 a month per sub-account add-on, or the white-label app at $497 a month.

Coachful includes courses with modules, lessons, drip and completion tracking, plus downloads, videos, books, AI tools, events and bundles, all delivered into the client's branded home and app. The community has a feed, group chat, direct messages and video events, and cohort groups are created automatically when someone enrolls in a program. It ships with 48 course templates with quizzes. It is not a course marketplace, so it will not bring you buyers the way a marketplace does. Read more on the course platform and group coaching pages.

Which one looks like you?

Coachful builds your coaching website from a few answers, in a design chosen for your niche, with programs, booking and payments ready behind it.

Build your platform

How do payments, invoices and contracts compare?

All three take no platform cut on sales as listed in October 2026; you pay only your processor. GoHighLevel adds invoicing and contracts inside the CRM. ClickFunnels pairs checkout with its store and funnels.

ClickFunnels says "You'll keep every penny you make" with 0% ClickFunnels commission. It processes through Payments AI (Stripe-based) and Stripe, and our September 2026 profile also lists PayPal.

GoHighLevel shows no platform fee on sales and supports Stripe, PayPal and other providers. It includes invoicing and contracts, which a coach can use for coaching agreements.

Coachful runs payments through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account: one-time, subscriptions, payment plans, order bumps, coupons, refunds, Apple Pay and Google Pay, and Stripe Tax, with an invoice per transaction plus manual invoices. The platform fee has been 0% since August 2026. Coaching agreements with e-signature go out before the first call and are stored on the client record. There is no PayPal, which matters if a large share of your buyers insist on it. Details: coaching payment software and coaching contracts.

What does your client actually experience?

With ClickFunnels or GoHighLevel, your client experiences a funnel, a checkout, emails and possibly a course portal. With Coachful, they get a coaching home with sessions, programs, habits, check-ins, documents and community in one app under your branding.

This is the section most comparisons skip, and it is the one coaches feel most. Picture week three of a 12-week program. On ClickFunnels, your client logs in to a course area to watch a module, gets an email reminder for the call from whatever scheduler you use, and messages you somewhere else. Nothing records whether they did the daily practice. On GoHighLevel, you can build forms and workflows that ask for a weekly update and tag them if they don't answer. It works, but you are building a habit tracker out of marketing automation parts, and the client sees forms, not a progress view.

Both vendors' own notes are consistent on this: neither offers client habits, daily check-ins or a structured 1:1 coaching program engine. That is not a criticism of either; it is simply not what they were built for.

On Coachful, the same client opens one app with your branding, sees their next session and any pre-session task, ticks off today's habits, answers the morning check-in, and watches the next lesson. You see their status move from active to quiet before they ghost you.

What happens to your data if you leave?

Contacts come out of both tools as CSV; the funnels you built mostly do not. Plan for a rebuild either way.

Per our September 2026 profiles: ClickFunnels exports contacts to CSV, but funnels and pages are not portable and course content must be rebuilt. GoHighLevel exports contacts with custom fields, opportunities and conversations to CSV; funnels, sites and workflows move only as snapshots within HighLevel, and data becomes inaccessible after cancellation, so export before you cancel.

Coachful exports the full client record as a ZIP (roster, notes, check-ins, goals, habits, sessions and form responses), plus course export. When you join, clients, programs and content are imported for you during onboarding. If you are leaving GoHighLevel specifically, our GoHighLevel alternative page covers what moves across.

Which should you pick for which kind of coach?

Match the tool to how you deliver, not just how you sell. This table sums it up.

ToolBest fitPoor fit
CoachfulLife, health, fitness, business and executive coaches running multi-week programs; solo coaches growing into a small team; coaches replacing 4 to 6 toolsAgencies, sales teams needing deal boards, clinical practices needing HIPAA, coaches who require PayPal
GoHighLevelCoaches who also run a marketing agency; high-ticket sellers with appointment setters; multi-brand businesses; anyone wanting to resell softwareSolo coaches who want to be live in a week; anyone who dislikes metered usage bills
ClickFunnelsLaunch-driven course creators; webinar and challenge funnels; coaches selling mostly digital productsCoaches whose revenue is ongoing 1:1 or group programs with daily accountability

A few specific cases:

  • Business coaches who also do done-for-you marketing for clients: GoHighLevel's sub-accounts and SaaS Mode are built for exactly this. Coachful has nothing equivalent.
  • Health and fitness coaches: the daily layer matters more than the funnel. Coachful's Fitness & Nutrition pack adds a workout builder with illustrated exercises, workout logging with PRs, nutrition targets, meal plans, barcode food lookup, private progress photos and form-check video. Neither ClickFunnels nor GoHighLevel offers this natively. Coaching is not treatment: keep to education and behaviour change, refer clients to a doctor or licensed clinician for diagnosis, medication or worrying symptoms, and if you handle protected health information, read the HHS HIPAA guidance and check with an attorney.
  • ICF-credentialed coaches: Coachful counts coaching hours and distinct clients against ACC, PCC and MCC thresholds and exports an ICF client coaching log (ICF hour tracking). Neither competitor lists this.
  • Coaches comparing cheap funnel tools: if ClickFunnels is the ceiling and price is the main worry, our Systeme.io vs ClickFunnels comparison is worth a read.

Is there a third option built for coaching?

Yes. Coachful replaces most of what coaches buy ClickFunnels or GoHighLevel for (funnels, site, email, booking, payments) and adds the part neither has: program delivery between sessions. It is the better choice for most coaches who sell programs, and the wrong one for agencies and sales teams.

What Coachful is, who it is for, and what it does not do

What it is. Coachful is a coaching platform. One subscription covers booking, payments, contracts, program delivery with habits and check-ins, courses, a community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant. The coach has one login; the client has one app with the coach's branding. The company is based in Tallinn, Estonia, and shows 4.5 on Trustpilot from 21 reviews.

Who it is for. Coaches who deliver programs, not just sessions; solo coaches growing into a small team (Studio and Agency plans add coach seats with per-coach availability and staff permissions); coaches tired of paying for and switching between four to six tools.

What it does that neither competitor does natively. Multi-week programs with weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals with progress bars and streaks. Michelle, the built-in AI assistant, works from your live practice data: she builds programs, drafts emails and content, summarises recorded sessions, briefs you before each session and, if you want it, gives private feedback on your coaching against ICF Core Competencies 3 to 8. The AI Coach lets selected clients chat with an AI version of you between sessions, configured by you. More than 40 ready-to-film program templates help you start.

What it does not do. It is not HIPAA-certified and signs no BAA, so it is not for clinical record-keeping or insurance billing. No PayPal. No permanent free plan. The client app ships under the Coachful listing with your branding, not under your own App Store account. No Garmin, Fitbit, Whoop or Oura sync, and no stock exercise videos (coaches attach their own demos). No multi-stage deal board for large sales teams, no Salesforce or HubSpot integration, no routing forms. The affiliate program tracks links, clicks, conversions and revenue, but payouts are recorded manually rather than sent by Coachful.

This walkthrough shows how a client journey is set up in Coachful:

When Coachful beats both, and when it does not

  • It beats both when your revenue depends on clients finishing a program, when you want one login for booking, payment, contract and delivery, and when you would rather not spend a month configuring workflows.
  • GoHighLevel beats it for agencies, text-message marketing, multi-stage sales pipelines and anyone reselling software.
  • ClickFunnels beats it if your business is a funnel-led digital product launch machine and you need PayPal at checkout.

How to start

Start a free trial, then decide whether to build yourself or have the team build it for you. Current plans: Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients. Monthly plans cancel in one click.

Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. On every plan, you can open Create and choose "We'll build it for you · FREE" (the same option appears as a "Want us to build it for you?" card on Website, Funnels, Programs and the template galleries). Describe what you want, whether a website, funnel, sales page, program, course outline and written material, email sequence, lead quiz, webinar or automation, and attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files such as logos, photos, brand guides and copy. The Coachful team builds it inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours. Nothing is invented: no fake credentials, testimonials or prices, and gaps are left for you to fill. It does not cover recording videos, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing.

What else should you check before you commit?

Run your real week through each trial, not the demo. Three checks catch most bad fits.

  1. Price your next 12 months, not this one. Add contacts, courses and team members you expect. On ClickFunnels, that may mean jumping from Launch to Scale for the course cap; on GoHighLevel, estimate your SMS and email volume and any add-ons.
  2. Walk the client path end to end. Opt in, buy, sign the agreement, book the first call, complete a week of the program. Count the logins and emails your client sees.
  3. Test the exit. Export your contacts in week one so you know what comes out and in what shape.

Frequently asked questions

Is GoHighLevel cheaper than ClickFunnels?

At the entry tier they cost the same: $97 a month on monthly billing for GoHighLevel Starter and ClickFunnels Launch, as listed in October 2026. GoHighLevel's bill grows with metered SMS, email, phone and AI usage and optional add-ons, while ClickFunnels' grows when you outgrow plan limits such as three courses or 10K contacts. Which ends up cheaper depends on your messaging volume and how many courses you run.

Can GoHighLevel replace ClickFunnels?

For most coaches, yes. GoHighLevel includes funnels and websites in every plan, alongside a CRM, calendars, email, SMS, courses and communities. Coaches who rely heavily on a complex ClickFunnels funnel should rebuild it in the GoHighLevel trial before switching.

Which is easier to learn, ClickFunnels or GoHighLevel?

ClickFunnels has a narrower scope, so there is less to set up before you can sell. GoHighLevel covers far more ground, from pipelines to SMS to sub-accounts, which means more configuration before it does everything you bought it for. If setup time is the main worry, a tool with a done-for-you build service cuts that time most.

Does either tool track client habits or check-ins?

No. Neither ClickFunnels nor GoHighLevel offers client habits, daily check-ins or a structured 1:1 coaching program engine. On GoHighLevel you can approximate check-ins with forms and workflows. Coachful includes habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals and streaks in the client's branded app.

Which has better payment options?

Both ClickFunnels and GoHighLevel list Stripe and PayPal, and neither shows a platform fee on sales as of October 2026. Coachful also charges a 0% platform fee and supports Stripe Connect or Razorpay with Apple Pay and Google Pay, but not PayPal.

Is GoHighLevel HIPAA compliant?

GoHighLevel offers HIPAA compliance as an add-on at $297 a month, and includes it on the custom-priced Enterprise plan. ClickFunnels does not list HIPAA on its pricing page, and Coachful is not HIPAA-certified. Health coaches who never handle protected health information may not need it; check with an attorney if you are unsure.

Can I move my funnels from ClickFunnels to GoHighLevel?

Not directly. ClickFunnels funnels are proprietary and do not export to other platforms, so you export your contacts as CSV and rebuild the pages. GoHighLevel's snapshots only move setups between HighLevel accounts.

What is Coachful's free white-glove service?

It is a build service included on every Coachful plan: you describe a website, funnel, program, course outline, email sequence or similar, attach up to 8 links and 10 files, and the team builds it in your account, usually within about 24 hours. It leaves gaps for you rather than inventing credentials, testimonials or prices, and it does not include recording videos, logo design or ad management.

Is Coachful a good fit for marketing agencies?

No. Coachful is built for coaches and small coaching teams, with team plans that add coach seats. It has no agency sub-accounts, white-label resale or multi-stage sales deal board, so agencies are better served by GoHighLevel.

Which should a brand-new coach choose?

A new coach usually needs a simple site, a way to book and take payment, and something that keeps the first clients on track. That points to an all-in-one coaching platform over an agency CRM or a launch funnel builder. See our guide for new coaches for a starting setup.
