Kajabi vs Squarespace for Coaches: 2026 Prices and Verdict

Kajabi vs Squarespace comes down to what you sell. Kajabi is a course, community, funnel and email platform built for selling knowledge products, and it starts at $143 a month billed annually. Squarespace is a general website builder with selling built in, from $19 a month billed annually, but online booking needs Acuity Scheduling, a separate subscription. If your coaching business is mostly courses and launches, Kajabi fits better. If you mainly need a beautiful site that sends people to a booking page, Squarespace is cheaper. Neither one runs the coaching itself: per-client programs, habits, check-ins and a client app.
We make Coachful, a coaching platform, so we have a stake in this comparison. Below is an honest head-to-head using what both vendors publish in October 2026, followed by Coachful as a third option, including the cases where it is not the right choice.

Kajabi vs Squarespace: what is the short answer by use case?
Kajabi suits coaches who earn mostly from courses, memberships and community; Squarespace suits coaches who need a polished website and sell 1:1 sessions through a booking add-on. Here is how that plays out for common coaching setups.
- You sell a signature course, a membership and run launches: Kajabi. Courses, communities, funnels, landing pages and marketing emails are in every plan, and there is no extra Kajabi fee when you use Kajabi Payments.
- You sell 1:1 sessions and want a beautiful, low-cost site: Squarespace plus Acuity Scheduling. You get strong design templates and booking with intake forms and reminders, for far less than any Kajabi plan.
- You sell a few digital products alongside sessions: Squarespace can do it, but courses and memberships carry a Squarespace fee of 7% on Basic, 5% on Core and 1% on Plus. Only Advanced removes it.
- You need a branded client app: Kajabi lists one, but its comparison table showed it as Pro-only in October 2026. Squarespace does not list a client-facing app.
- You run multi-week programs with daily tasks, habits and check-ins per client: neither. That is the gap a coaching platform such as Coachful fills, covered in its own section below.
If you are leaving one of these already, our guide on moving a coaching website off Kajabi, Wix or Squarespace covers the practical steps.
How do Kajabi and Squarespace compare side by side?
On paper Kajabi does more for selling knowledge products and Squarespace does more for the website itself. We rank on four criteria that matter most to coaches: one login for the whole client journey, delivery between sessions, total stack cost, and setup effort (including a free white-glove build where one exists).
| Platform | What it is | Entry price (billed annually) | 1:1 booking | Courses and community | Email marketing | Per-client programs, habits, check-ins | Client app | Trustpilot (October 2026) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | Coaching platform: booking, payments, contracts, programs, courses, community, website, funnels, email and AI in one membership | Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients | Included, with two-way Google, Apple and Outlook sync | Both included; cohort groups created on enrolment | Lists, broadcasts and multi-step sequences included | Included | Coach's branding inside the Coachful app | 4.5 from 21 reviews |
| Kajabi | Course, community, funnel and email platform | $143/month (Basic) | Not listed in the pricing facts we checked; confirm during the trial | Core strength; 5 products and 1 community on Basic | Marketing emails included | No | Branded app shown as Pro-only | 3.4 from 2,347 reviews |
| Squarespace | Website builder with selling built in | $19/month (Basic) | Needs Acuity Scheduling, a separate subscription from $16/month billed annually | Courses and memberships with a 7% / 5% / 1% / 0% fee by plan; no community listed | Email Campaigns, a separate add-on | No | No client app listed | 3.5 from 6,313 reviews |
Contracts with e-signature are included in Coachful and not listed by either rival. All three offer a trial: Kajabi 14 days with a card optional, Squarespace 14 days with no card, and Coachful a free trial.
Two caveats. Coachful's Trustpilot score comes from a far smaller sample than either rival's, so read it as an early signal, not a verdict. And Kajabi does many things this table cannot show well, such as funnels, affiliate programs on Growth and up to three websites on Pro.

What do Kajabi and Squarespace cost in 2026?
Squarespace costs $19 to $99 a month billed annually ($25 to $139 monthly); Kajabi costs $143 to $399 a month billed annually ($179 to $499 monthly). Those are list prices from each vendor's pricing page as listed in October 2026. Squarespace localizes prices by visitor location, so the US dollar figures below come from the US rendering of its official pricing page.
| Plan | Monthly billing | Billed annually (per month) | Key limits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients | Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients | Flat plans; lower plans cap clients, Pro is unlimited; 0% platform fee |
| Squarespace Basic | $25 | $19 ($228/year) | 2 contributors, 30 min video, 7% fee on digital content and memberships, 2% store fee |
| Squarespace Core | $39 | $29 ($348/year) | Unlimited contributors, 5 hours video, 5% digital fee, payment plans, Zapier |
| Squarespace Plus | $65 | $49 ($588/year) | 50 hours video, 1% digital fee, card rate 2.7% + $0.30 |
| Squarespace Advanced | $139 | $99 ($1,188/year) | Unlimited video, 0% digital fee, card rate 2.5% + $0.30 |
| Kajabi Basic | $179 | $143 ($1,716/year) | 5 products, 2,500 contacts, 1 community, 1 website, 2 admins, 0 AI credits |
| Kajabi Growth | $249 | $199 ($2,388/year) | 50 products, 25,000 contacts, 1 community, 11 admins, 500 AI credits, affiliates |
| Kajabi Pro | $499 | $399 ($4,788/year) | Unlimited products, 100,000 contacts, 3 communities, 3 websites, 26 admins |
Squarespace's page says "Pay annually to save up to 36%", but at these prices the annual saving works out to roughly 24 to 29%. Many third-party guides still quote older, lower Squarespace prices; the figures above are the ones Squarespace showed in October 2026. Kajabi offers a 30-day money-back guarantee on every plan, and extra contacts cost $125 a month per 25,000.

Transaction fees and add-ons
The plan price is only part of the bill. Both platforms charge card processing, and each has its own extra fees.
| Platform | Platform fee on courses and memberships | Card processing (US) | Using another processor | Booking | Email marketing |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | 0% platform fee | Your own Stripe or Razorpay rates only | Stripe Connect or Razorpay; no PayPal | Included | Included |
| Kajabi | None with Kajabi Payments or PayPal | 2.9% + $0.30 Basic, 2.8% + $0.30 Growth, 2.7% + $0.30 Pro | Extra Kajabi fee: 2% Basic, 1% Growth, 0.5% Pro | Not listed in the pricing facts we checked | Included |
| Squarespace | 7% Basic, 5% Core, 1% Plus, 0% Advanced | 2.9% + $0.30 Basic and Core, 2.7% + $0.30 Plus, 2.5% + $0.30 Advanced | Stripe and PayPal charge their own fees | Acuity: $16, $27 or $55/month billed annually | Email Campaigns add-on, priced by monthly sends |
Squarespace also adds 3.2% + $0.30 on premium cards such as Amex, 1.5% for international cards and 1% for currency conversion. Kajabi's card rates above apply to US entities.
What does a realistic coaching stack cost on each?
For a coach who sells 1:1 sessions plus one course, Squarespace is usually cheaper in subscriptions but charges a percentage on the course; Kajabi costs more up front and charges no platform percentage with its own payments. The worked example below uses a hypothetical coach with $20,000 a year of course and membership sales. The sales figure is illustrative, not a benchmark.
| Example stack (billed annually) | Subscriptions per year | Platform fee on $20,000 of course sales | What is still missing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients | 0% | Nothing on this list; processing only |
| Squarespace Core + Acuity Standard | $348 + $324 = $672 | 5% = $1,000 | Email Campaigns add-on, client portal, programs, check-ins |
| Squarespace Plus + Acuity Standard | $588 + $324 = $912 | 1% = $200 | Email Campaigns add-on, client portal, programs, check-ins |
| Squarespace Advanced + Acuity Standard | $1,188 + $324 = $1,512 | $0 | Email Campaigns add-on, client portal, programs, check-ins |
| Kajabi Basic | $1,716 | $0 with Kajabi Payments | Per-client programs and check-ins; booking to confirm; 5-product cap |
| Kajabi Growth | $2,388 | $0 with Kajabi Payments | Per-client programs and check-ins; booking to confirm |
Card processing comes on top for every row. The break-even point between Squarespace tiers is easy to work out: moving from Core to Plus costs $240 more a year and cuts the digital fee by 4 points, so it pays off once you sell more than $6,000 a year of courses or memberships. Moving from Plus to Advanced costs $600 more and saves 1 point, so it pays off above $60,000.

Which is better for a coaching website?
Squarespace is the stronger pure website builder; Kajabi's website is mainly a front door to its products. Squarespace gives you SEO settings, mobile-optimized templates, unlimited bandwidth, a free custom domain for the first year on annual billing, form and newsletter blocks, and on Core and above, code injection and promotional pop-ups. For a coach whose site is mainly service pages, a blog and a contact form, that covers most of what you need.
Kajabi includes one website on Basic and Growth and three on Pro, plus unlimited landing pages and funnels on every plan. Its pages are built to sell courses, memberships and communities, which is helpful if that is your business and limiting if you mostly want a content-rich site with a blog and service pages.
Where each falls short for coaches:
- Squarespace: the website does not know who your clients are. Bookings live in Acuity, email lives in Email Campaigns, and any program delivery lives somewhere else.
- Kajabi: the Basic plan caps you at 5 products and 2,500 contacts, and has 0 AI credits. A coach with several offers can outgrow it quickly.
Coachful's site builder sits between the two: section-based pages, a blog, a custom domain, SEO settings, 30 designed homepage templates and an Import website option, with booking, checkout and lead-magnet funnels built in. It is not a general website builder for non-coaching sites, so if you also run an online shop or a portfolio, Squarespace remains the better fit for that part.

Which handles booking and 1:1 sessions better?
Squarespace handles booking only through Acuity Scheduling, which it owns but sells separately; the Kajabi facts we checked do not list a booking calendar, so confirm how sessions work for you during the trial. For a coach whose income is mostly 1:1 sessions, this is the most important difference in the whole comparison.
Acuity is a capable scheduler. Starter ($16 a month billed annually) covers one calendar. Standard ($27) adds up to 6 calendars, text reminders, a waitlist, packages, memberships and gift certificates. Premium ($55) goes up to 36 calendars, removes "Powered by Acuity" and offers a HIPAA BAA. Acuity connects its own Stripe, Square or PayPal account, separate from your Squarespace payments, so you may end up reconciling two payment streams. Squarespace's scheduling page advertised 20% off the first payment of a new Acuity plan in October 2026.
Kajabi frames coaching around products and communities rather than per-client plans. If you already use an outside scheduler and only need Kajabi to sell a coaching package, that can work, but you are then paying for two tools and two logins for your client.
In Coachful, booking is part of the same account as the client record: booking pages with availability rules, buffers, minimum notice and time-zone detection, two-way Google, Apple and Outlook sync, built-in video or auto-created Zoom, Meet or Teams links, email reminders, plus SMS and WhatsApp reminders once messaging is enabled. Paid sessions, session credits and intake questions on booking are included, and multi-coach session types can assign round-robin or to the least busy coach. See Coachful's scheduling software for details.

Which is better for courses, memberships and community?
Kajabi is clearly better here: courses, memberships and community are its core product, with no platform fee when you use Kajabi Payments. Squarespace can sell courses and memberships on every plan, but it charges a fee on digital content and memberships that only disappears on the $99-a-month Advanced plan, and it lists no community feature.
Kajabi's limits are by product count and contacts: 5 products on Basic, 50 on Growth, unlimited on Pro. Each plan includes one community (three on Pro). Growth adds an affiliate program. For a coach who runs a membership with a group chat, live calls and a course library, Kajabi does this in one place, while Squarespace would need a separate community tool.
Squarespace's course and membership features are fine for a small library behind a paywall. Video hosting is the other constraint: 30 minutes on Basic, 5 hours on Core, 50 hours on Plus, unlimited on Advanced. Fifteen 20-minute lessons fill the whole 5-hour Core allowance, so a coach with more than one course will likely need Plus.
Coachful includes courses with modules, lessons, drip and completion tracking, plus downloads, videos, books, AI tools, events and bundles, all delivered into the client's branded home and app. Its community has a feed, group chat, direct messages and video events, and cohort groups are created automatically when someone enrols in a program. There are 48 course templates with quizzes if you are starting from scratch. Coachful is not a course marketplace, so it will not send you buyers the way a marketplace might. See the course platform for coaches and group coaching software.

How do email marketing and funnels compare?
Kajabi includes unlimited marketing emails, funnels and landing pages on every plan; Squarespace sells email as a separate add-on and has no funnel builder. If you grow through a lead magnet, an email sequence and a launch, Kajabi saves you from adding a separate email tool.
Squarespace Email Campaigns is priced by monthly sends, in tiers from 500 to 500,000 emails a month with unlimited contacts. Its free use is limited to building lists, drafts and up to three trial blast campaigns. Squarespace renders those tier prices in the browser, and we could not capture them from an official page, so check the current price for your list size before you budget. Core and above also connect to Mailchimp and Zapier, which many coaches use instead. Squarespace's Contacts panel stores subscribers, customers, members, donors and form submitters with segments, and invoices and pay links are included on all plans.
Coachful includes email lists, broadcasts and multi-step sequences with triggers, delays, branching and A/B splits, plus booking, application, lead-magnet and checkout funnels with pixels and UTM tracking, and about 25 funnel templates. Instagram automations can send your booking link or lead magnet by DM when someone comments a keyword. For a closer look at funnel and email depth against Kajabi specifically, see Coachful vs Kajabi for funnels and email.

What do your clients experience on each?
On Squarespace, a client sees your website, an Acuity booking page and email; on Kajabi, they see your site plus a course and community area, and a branded app on Pro. In neither case does a client get a private space where their own goals, tasks, habits and check-ins live between sessions.
That matters more than it sounds. Much of the value in a 12-week program happens between calls: a client logs a habit, answers an evening check-in, sees progress on a goal, and the coach sees who has gone quiet. Squarespace does not list a client portal, habit tracking, check-ins or client messaging. Kajabi's model is content and community: a client can watch lessons and post in the community, but there is no per-client plan with daily tasks that the coach adjusts for that person.
Kajabi's branded app is listed as included ("$199/mo value") on its pricing page, and the comparison table in October 2026 showed it on Pro only. Squarespace's mobile app is for you as the business owner, for in-person sales in the US; it is not a client app.
In Coachful, the client gets one branded home and app (your branding inside the Coachful app) for everything: sessions, programs, courses, community, documents, habits and check-ins. Programs can run for weeks with weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals with progress bars and streaks. On your side, every client record shows goals, check-ins, notes, intake answers, payments and sessions, with a status of thriving, active, quiet or at risk.

Here is a short walkthrough of the client journey in Coachful:
How easy is it to leave Kajabi or Squarespace?
Both let you export contacts, but neither lets you take your full site with you. Check this before you build, because rebuilding later is where most of the switching cost sits.
- Squarespace: site content exports only as a WordPress-format .xml file covering layout pages, one blog with posts and comments, text and image blocks, and gallery pages. Store pages, products, audio and video blocks, drafts, style settings and custom CSS are not exported, and trial sites cannot be exported at all. Contacts export to CSV (without notes or saved addresses), mailing lists as a .zip of CSV files, and customers and form submissions as CSV.
- Kajabi: contacts, subscriptions, sales and members export as CSV files sent by email. Course content has to be downloaded manually, asset by asset. An earlier Kajabi profile we hold notes that data is removed 90 days after cancellation.
Coachful offers a full client data export as a ZIP (roster, notes, check-ins, goals, habits, sessions and form responses) plus a course export. When you join, your clients, programs and content are imported for you during onboarding.
Which should you pick for which coach?
Pick Kajabi if knowledge products are your main income, pick Squarespace if a beautiful site and 1:1 booking are all you need, and look at a coaching platform if you deliver programs to individual clients. In more detail:
- New coach, 1:1 sessions only, tight budget: Squarespace Core plus Acuity Starter is the cheapest of the two paths. You will add email later.
- Coach with a course, a membership and a list over 2,500: Kajabi Growth. Basic's 2,500-contact and 5-product caps are tight for this business.
- Coach selling a few low-volume digital products: Squarespace, but do the fee arithmetic above before choosing Core, Plus or Advanced.
- Coach who also runs a shop or a portfolio site: Squarespace, which is built as a general website builder.
- Coach who needs a HIPAA BAA for scheduling: Acuity Premium lists one. Coachful is not HIPAA-certified, so it is not the right home for clinical records.
- Coach running cohorts or 1:1 programs with tasks, habits and check-ins: neither fits well. Read on.

Is there a third option? When Coachful beats both, and when it does not
Coachful beats both when your business is coaching delivered over weeks, not just content or bookings. It is a coaching platform: one membership covers booking, payments, contracts, program delivery with habits and check-ins, courses, a community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant, with one login for you and one branded app for your client. It is built for coaches who deliver programs, not just sessions, for solo coaches growing into a small team, and for coaches replacing 4 to 6 tools. The company is based in Tallinn, Estonia. Current plans: Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients.

Where Coachful beats Kajabi and Squarespace
- One login for the whole client journey: the website, funnel, checkout, contract, booking, program, course and community all sit in one account, so a client who books a call becomes a client record with history, not a row in three tools.
- Delivery between sessions: multi-week programs with daily tasks, habits, check-ins, goals and streaks. More than 40 ready-to-film program templates help you start.
- Payments without a platform cut: your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account; one-time payments, subscriptions, payment plans, order bumps, coupons, refunds, Apple Pay and Google Pay, Stripe Tax; 0% Coachful platform fee since August 2026.
- Coaching agreements: e-signature agreements sent before the first call and stored on the client record. See coaching contracts.
- Michelle, the AI assistant: works from your live practice data; builds programs, drafts emails, summarizes recorded sessions and briefs you before each session. Questions and planning are included in your Coachful membership; confirmed builds and changes use AI credits.
- ICF credential tracking: counts coaching hours and distinct clients against ACC, PCC and MCC thresholds from the International Coaching Federation, and exports an ICF client coaching log. See ICF hour tracking.
- Teams: Studio and Agency plans add coach seats with per-coach availability and staff permissions.
Where Coachful does not beat them
- General websites: Squarespace is better for a shop, a portfolio or any site that is not about coaching. Coachful has no third-party plugins.
- Course marketplace reach: Coachful is not a marketplace, and if your business is mostly courses and launches with little 1:1 delivery, Kajabi's product-first setup may suit you better.
- PayPal: Coachful does not support PayPal. Kajabi and Squarespace both do.
- Clinical or HIPAA work: Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and offers no BAA. Coaching is not treatment; if you work with clinical records or insurance billing, use a clinical system, and refer clients to a licensed professional when their needs go beyond coaching.
- Your own App Store listing: the client app ships under the Coachful listing with your branding. Kajabi Pro lists multiple brands and an App Store app.
- Affiliate payouts: Coachful tracks affiliate links, clicks, conversions and revenue, but payouts are recorded manually, not sent by Coachful.
- Free plan: there is no permanent free plan, only a free trial.
Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. From Create, choose "We'll build it for you · FREE" and describe what you want: a website, funnel, sales page, program, course outline, email sequence, form, link in bio, webinar or automation. You can attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files such as logos, photos, brand guides and copy. The Coachful team builds it inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours. Nothing is invented: no fake credentials, testimonials or prices, and gaps are left for you to fill. It does not include recording videos, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing. Recent anonymized examples: a somatic coach leaving Kajabi had the homepage and About page rebuilt and the contact form connected, and a leadership coach with a Squarespace renewal days away got one clean homepage with a repeated "talk with me" button. Frequently asked questions
Is Kajabi or Squarespace cheaper for coaches?
Squarespace is cheaper on subscriptions: $19 to $99 a month billed annually versus $143 to $399 for Kajabi, as listed in October 2026. But booking needs Acuity Scheduling from $16 a month billed annually, email is a separate add-on, and courses and memberships carry a 1% to 7% fee below Advanced. Add those before you compare.
Can I sell coaching sessions on Squarespace?
Yes. You can sell services, invoices and pay links on every plan, and take bookings through Acuity Scheduling, which Squarespace owns and sells as a separate subscription. Acuity adds intake forms, reminders, packages and memberships, and connects its own payment account.
Does Kajabi have a free trial?
Kajabi's help center lists a 14-day trial in October 2026. A card is optional; if you enter one, Kajabi places an authorization hold and charges on the day the trial ends. Some features, such as bulk contact import and test emails, stay locked until a paid plan is active.
Does Squarespace charge transaction fees?
On digital content and memberships, yes: 7% on Basic, 5% on Core, 1% on Plus and 0% on Advanced. Online store sales carry a 2% fee on Basic and none above it, and invoices have no fee. Card processing through Squarespace Payments comes on top.
Can I use Kajabi and Squarespace together?
Some coaches do: Squarespace for the main website and Kajabi for courses and community. You then pay for both, run two logins and keep contacts in two places. If you are combining tools anyway, compare that total against an all-in-one platform.
Which is better for SEO and blogging?
Squarespace has the more complete website and blogging toolset, with SEO settings, mobile-optimized templates and code injection on Core and above. Kajabi's site is built mainly around selling its products. Rankings depend far more on what you publish than on which of the two you choose.
Can I move my site from Squarespace or Kajabi later?
Partly. Squarespace exports pages and one blog as a WordPress-format file but not products, video blocks or styling; Kajabi exports contacts and sales as CSV and courses only asset by asset. Our migration guide walks through it.
What is Coachful's free white-glove service?
Every Coachful plan includes a free build service: describe a website, funnel, program, course outline, email sequence or similar, attach up to 8 links and 10 files, and the Coachful team builds it in your account, usually within about 24 hours. It does not include video recording, logo design, ads or ongoing marketing, and it never invents testimonials, credentials or prices.
Is Coachful HIPAA-compliant?
No. Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and does not sign a BAA, so it is not for clinical record-keeping or insurance billing. Coaching is not medical or mental-health treatment; refer clients to a qualified professional when they need care.
Does Coachful replace both Kajabi and Squarespace?
For most coaching businesses, yes: website, funnels, email, booking, payments, contracts, courses, community and client programs are in one membership. It does not replace Squarespace for a non-coaching site or shop, and it does not support PayPal. Current plans: Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients.
