Metricool Review 2026: Pricing, Limits and Verdict for Coaches

Metricool Review 2026: Pricing, Limits and Verdict for Coaches

This Metricool review comes down to one finding: Metricool is a capable, fairly priced social media planner and analytics tool, and it stops at the moment someone wants to become your client. If your problem is posting consistently and understanding what works, it is a strong choice. If your problem is turning followers into booked, paying, supported clients, you will need other software next to it.

We make Coachful, a coaching platform that competes for part of this job, so read our recommendation with that in mind. Every Metricool fact below comes from its own pricing and help pages as listed in October 2026, and we have not run our own hands-on trial. Where a term is not published, we say so.

Is Metricool worth it for coaches?

Yes, if social media is a real acquisition channel for you and you already have tools for booking, payments and delivery. No, if you hoped one subscription would run the practice, because Metricool does not process payments, book sessions or hold client records.

What is Metricool?

Metricool is a social media planner and analytics tool, with an inbox, link-in-bio pages and light automation around them. It connects your networks, publishes scheduled posts, and reports on what those posts and your competitors are doing.

The network list is broad. Metricool connects Instagram, Facebook, Threads, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, Bluesky, Google Business Profile, Twitch and, on paid plans, LinkedIn. X is connected only through a $10/month add-on per account. It also connects a website or blog plus Facebook, Google and TikTok ads accounts, so one dashboard can show organic and paid activity together.

Pricing is built around the brand, which Metricool defines as one business or client with one profile per network. That model comes from agency work: you pay for how many businesses you manage, not how many posts you send. Most solo coaches have one brand, so they sit at the bottom of each plan's range and never touch the top tiers.

That is worth saying plainly, because it explains the rest of this review. Metricool was built for people whose job is social media. A coach's job is coaching, and social media is one of several ways clients arrive.

What does Metricool do across a coaching business?

Metricool is strong on marketing, thin on selling, and absent from delivery. The table below sorts its documented features by the five jobs a coaching practice has to do, with an honest note on each.

Answer a few questions and Coachful builds it around you: your website, programs, booking and payments. Ready in minutes.

Build your platform

Marketing: where Metricool earns its price

The planner auto-publishes on every plan, including Free. Paid plans offer "Unlimited content publishing" under a Fair Use Policy, so a normal coach's posting volume should not be a concern, though you may want to read that policy if you batch heavily. Free stops at 20 scheduled posts per month.

Analytics is the stronger half. Free keeps 30 days of history; Starter and above keep unlimited history, which matters if you want to compare this January with last January. Competitor tracking runs from 5 profiles on Free to up to 100 on Starter. For a coach, that is a practical way to see what other people in your niche post without scrolling their feeds by hand.

Starter also adds PDF and PPT reports, 3 campaign dashboards, and Google Drive and Canva integration. AI credits are modest: 5 per brand per month on Free, 20 on Starter and 35 on Advanced. Anyone planning to write most captions with built-in AI should check what a credit buys before relying on it, since those small allowances could run out quickly.

Selling: useful top of funnel, then it stops

SmartLinks, the link-in-bio feature, comes with unlimited links on every plan, and Starter adds multiple pages. Flows, on paid plans, automates Instagram comment-to-DM and keyword DM replies, TikTok comment replies and X auto-reposts. Metricool describes Flows as included at "no extra cost for a limited time", and it does not publish what happens after that, so treat its current price as something that could change.

A common coach use is the comment-a-keyword post: someone comments a word, and a DM sends your link. Metricool can run that. What it cannot do is take the booking or the payment at the other end, or put that person into a client record. Metricool has no transaction fee simply because it does not process payments for your services at all.

Delivery: not part of the product

Metricool has no booking calendar, client records, programs or courses. That is not a flaw in a social tool; it is simply out of scope. It does mean the cost of Metricool never replaces any other line in your software budget.

Client experience: nothing for the people you coach

The inbox gathers messages from Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube and Google Business Profile on all plans, plus LinkedIn on paid plans. Good for answering prospects. Once someone is a client, though, Metricool has nothing for them to log in to, no place to find their homework and no record of their progress.

Admin: fine for social work, with one awkward gate

Data export is decent. You can download CSVs from analytics lists, competitor tables, SmartLinks metrics and campaign dashboards, and export the content calendar as CSV. Advanced adds the Metricool API, which connects through Zapier and Make, and a Looker Studio connector.

The awkward part is the team gate. Team and client management with roles arrives only on Advanced, and that plan also carries the post approval system. A solo coach who hires a part-time assistant to schedule posts therefore jumps from Starter to Advanced, even with a single brand. Metricool's published limits only imply per-plan user counts; team members are listed as unlimited on Advanced and Custom.

How much does Metricool cost?

Metricool has a free forever plan, and paid plans start at $20/month billed annually or $25/month billed monthly, excluding VAT, as listed in October 2026. Prices rise with the number of brands. We put Coachful in the first row for reference, because it is what we would compare a Metricool budget against.

PlanBilled monthlyBilled annually (per month)Annual total (calculated)What you get
CoachfulLite: $29/month for up to 5 clientsBooking, payments, contracts, programs, courses, community, website, funnels, email and social planner. Flat plans; lower plans cap clients.

Metricool's pricing page in October 2026. This capture shows euros on the annual tab; a toggle switches to US dollars.

Add-ons sit on top. The X add-on is $10/month per connected X account, on paid plans only. Advanced Analytics, which includes Metricool Studio and unlimited campaign dashboards, starts at $12/month on Starter and $36/month on Advanced and Custom. The Hashtag Tracker is $25/day for X or Instagram. The Canva add-on and white label are priced on request.

On trials, the pricing page states no standard paid-plan trial; the Free plan does that job, and promo-code trials occasionally appear on event and landing pages. Payment is by card or PayPal. The currency toggle uses different numerals rather than an exchange rate, for example €16 against $20 on annual Starter, so check the tab that matches how you will be billed.

What would a coach actually pay?

These are worked examples using the listed prices, not quotes:

  • Instagram and TikTok only, modest volume: Free, at $0, if 20 posts per month is enough and you can skip Flows.
  • Instagram and LinkedIn, solo: Starter at $20/month annually or $25 monthly. LinkedIn is the reason you pay.
  • Instagram, LinkedIn and X, solo: Starter plus the add-on, so $30/month on annual billing or $35 on monthly billing.
  • One brand with a part-time assistant: Advanced at $53/month annually or $67 monthly, before any X add-on. That is more than double the Starter price for one extra login.

Then add what Metricool does not cover. Booking, payments, contracts, delivery and email all need their own tools, which is why we compare total stack cost rather than one line. For the scheduling tools specifically, our Metricool vs Buffer and Metricool vs Later comparisons go further on price.

What do public reviewers praise and complain about?

Public reviewers mostly praise ease of use and having several networks in one dashboard, while the recurring complaints concern billing, renewals and uneven support. Metricool held 4.1 on Trustpilot from 690 reviews as seen in October 2026, a solid score on a meaningful number of reviews.

A note on method: the themes below come from excerpts of public review pages returned by a web search in October 2026, not from reading every review. Treat them as direction, not as a count. We paraphrase rather than quote.

What reviewers like

  • Ease of use. Reviewers often mention that the tool is simple to pick up.
  • One dashboard. Managing several networks in one place comes up again and again.
  • Helpful support, for many. Several reviewers describe fast, friendly replies, and one reported a first response in under a minute.

What reviewers complain about

  • Annual renewals and refunds. This is the theme to take most seriously. Reviewers warn about auto-renewal and report difficulty getting refunds. We could not verify the refund terms from the pages we checked, so read them and set a reminder before committing to a year.
  • Uneven support. The same topic that earns praise also draws complaints about slow or unhelpful answers, so experience seems to vary by issue.
  • Export and free-plan limits. Some reviewers find exporting results clunky or the free plan restrictive.
  • Instagram publishing. One reviewer reported having to post scheduled Instagram content manually. Metricool documents auto-publishing, so check this for your own account and post types on the Free plan before paying.

None of these reviewers are assessing Metricool as coaching software, and that is reasonable, because it does not claim to be. The gap for coaches is structural, and it is covered next.

What are the pros and cons of Metricool for coaches?

The main pros are wide network coverage, deep analytics and a usable free plan; the main cons are the team gate, the add-on costs and everything that happens after a lead arrives. Here is that summary next to what we would compare it with.

ToolProsCons
CoachfulOne login for booking, payments, contracts, programs, courses, community, website and email; social planner and Instagram automations in the same place; a white-glove build service at no extra costNo social analytics dashboards, TikTok or Pinterest publishing, or unified social inbox; no PayPal; not HIPAA-certified
MetricoolBroad network list, unlimited analytics history from Starter, competitor tracking, free forever plan, comment-to-DM on paid plans, good exportsNo booking, payments, client records or programs; assistant access needs Advanced; X costs extra; future Flows pricing not published; reviewers flag renewals and refunds

Who is Metricool best for?

Metricool is best for coaches whose growth depends on content and who enjoy reading the numbers. It suits a few specific situations well:

  • Content-led coaches on many networks. If you repurpose across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest and LinkedIn, the network list is hard to beat at this price.
  • Coaches running ads. Seeing Facebook, Google and TikTok ads accounts near your organic activity is useful if you want paid and organic numbers side by side.
  • Coaches testing social for the first time. The free plan lets you learn whether a posting rhythm is even sustainable, as long as LinkedIn is not your main network.
  • Social media managers who coach on the side. Several brands on one bill fit the Starter tiers directly.
  • Coaches with a settled back office. If booking, payments and delivery already work and you are happy with them, Metricool slots in without disturbing anything.

It is a weaker fit for referral-led practices, including many executive and business coaches, who may post rarely and get little from analytics depth. Those coaches often need a clean website and a reliable booking page first. It also does little for coaches just starting out, who have no clients yet and many other things to set up. Our guide for new coaches sets out a more useful order.

Where do coaches outgrow Metricool?

Coaches outgrow Metricool as soon as the question changes from "what should I post?" to "what happens after someone replies?". The tool stays good at what it does. The issue is that more of your week goes to work it cannot see.

The handoff from follower to client

Picture the path. A post earns a comment, Flows sends a DM, the DM links to SmartLinks, and SmartLinks links to a booking page somewhere else. The person books, pays through another tool, signs a contract in a third, and receives their first worksheet by email. At each step, the record of who they are lives in a different place, and Metricool can report on the top of that path but not on whether any of it became revenue.

No view of the client

Metricool can tell you which post performed well. It cannot tell you which client has gone quiet, whose payment plan ends this month, or who missed three check-ins. Those questions drive retention, and they live in a coaching CRM rather than a social tool.

Paying for social and everything else

Metricool never replaces another subscription, because nothing it does overlaps with booking, payment or delivery. So the bill only goes up. If you are also paying for a booking tool (see our Calendly review), a storefront (see our Stan Store review) and a separate tool for email, it is worth adding the lines up once a year.

When you need the deeper analytics anyway

Some coaches should keep Metricool even after consolidating everything else. If you track competitors or report social performance to a sponsor or partner, Coachful has no social analytics dashboards to replace that. Honest advice: keep it, and let your client work live somewhere else.

What are the best Metricool alternatives for coaches?

The best alternative depends on what you are trying to fix: Coachful if you want the whole client journey in one place, and another social tool if you only want a different scheduler. Ranking criteria: one login for the whole client journey, between-session delivery, total stack cost, and setup effort with the free white-glove build. Ratings and prices were seen in October 2026.

1. Coachful: the option if you want one place for clients

Coachful's habit tracker and client coaching hub on two screens on a linen morning table
Coachful's demo habit tracker beside the client coaching hub with the next session and program tabs.

Coachful is a coaching platform built for coaches who deliver programs, not just sessions, including solo coaches growing into a small team and coaches replacing 4 to 6 tools. One subscription covers booking, payments, contracts, program delivery with habits and check-ins, courses, a community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant, with one login for the coach and one branded app for the client.

The part that overlaps with Metricool is real but narrower. Coachful's social planner offers AI help with post ideas and captions, then schedules and publishes to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Threads and YouTube from one calendar. Each network publishes separately, with a per-network retry and a notification if one fails. Instagram automations trigger on a DM, a comment (optionally only with chosen keywords), a story reply, a mention, or a new follower where Meta supports it, then send a DM, a public reply, a DM with buttons, or an AI-written reply at 1 AI credit per reply.

The difference is where that person lands. Someone comments a keyword, gets your booking link, lead magnet or checkout in a DM, and appears in the same lead and client records you use to coach them. From there the rest of the path stays inside one product:

  • Funnels and website: a section-based website builder with blog and custom domain, plus booking, application, lead-magnet and checkout funnels with pixels and UTM tracking.
  • Booking: booking pages with availability rules and buffers, two-way Google, Apple and Outlook sync, and built-in video or auto-created Zoom, Meet or Teams links.
  • Payments: one-time, subscription and payment plans through your own Stripe or Razorpay account, with a 0% Coachful platform fee, so you pay only Stripe or Razorpay processing.
  • Contracts: coaching agreements with e-signature, sent before the first call and stored on the client record.
  • Delivery: multi-week programs with weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, and morning and evening check-ins, along with courses and cohort groups created automatically on enrollment.
  • Client view: a record with goals, check-ins, notes, payments, sessions and a status of thriving, active, quiet or at risk.
  • Michelle, the AI assistant: works from your live practice data to draft content, build programs, summarize recorded sessions and brief you before sessions. Questions and planning are included in your Coachful membership; confirmed builds and changes use AI credits.

The client's demo Programs view: an enrolled group program, its current week and its members.

What Coachful does not do. It has no social analytics dashboards, no TikTok or Pinterest publishing, and no unified social inbox, so Metricool remains stronger as a pure social tool. Its Instagram automations do not cover follow-gates or email capture inside the DM. Coachful has no PayPal. There is no permanent free plan. It is not HIPAA-certified, so it is not for clinical records or insurance billing; health coaches should keep clinical work in a clinical system and refer out when a client's needs move beyond coaching. The client app ships under the Coachful listing with your branding, not under your own App Store account.

Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. From Create, you describe what you want built, such as a website, funnel, program, email sequence or link in bio, and attach reference links and files. The Coachful team builds it inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours. Nothing gets invented: no fake credentials, testimonials or prices, and gaps are left for you to fill. Clients, programs and content are also imported for you during onboarding. One recent example: a leadership coach with a Squarespace renewal days away got one clean homepage with a repeated "talk with me" button. Here is how the service works. It does not include recording videos, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing.

How to start: begin a free trial, ask for a white-glove build of whichever piece is most urgent, and see whether your client work fits in one login. Current plans: Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients. A plan covering 15 clients is Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients, and unlimited clients is Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients.

2. Buffer: the simple per-channel scheduler

Buffer's homepage as it appeared in October 2026
Buffer's homepage in October 2026.

Buffer charges per connected channel, so a solo coach on Instagram, LinkedIn and Facebook pays $18/month, or $15/month billed yearly, on Essentials. Its free plan covers 3 channels with 10 queued posts each. It connects X without Metricool's add-on charge, along with Mastodon and Substack, which Metricool's list does not include. Team is $12 per channel monthly with unlimited members, which makes an assistant cheaper than Metricool's jump to Advanced at small scale. See our full comparison.

Pick it over Coachful if you only want a simple scheduler and your client work already runs well elsewhere.

3. Later: visual planning for Instagram-first coaches

Later's homepage as it appeared in October 2026
Later's homepage in October 2026.

Later's strength is its visual Instagram grid planner, and every plan includes a Link in Bio page that can collect email sign-ups. Its limits are tighter than Metricool's: Starter allows 30 posts per profile per month with 3 months of analytics, and X, Bluesky and Google Business Profile are not supported. Its Trustpilot score, 1.4 from 352 reviews, is also far lower. See Metricool vs Later.

Pick it over Coachful if your main need is arranging an Instagram grid visually and you do not need client delivery.

4. Planoly: planning with a small storefront

Planoly's homepage as it appeared in October 2026
Planoly's homepage in October 2026.

Planoly is the alternative closest to bridging social and selling. Every paid plan includes Creator Store, a link-in-bio storefront for digital downloads, e-courses, memberships, live events and paid 1:1 consultations, with no Planoly cut of sales; Stripe or PayPal processing still applies. Its documented focus is that storefront rather than program delivery with habits and check-ins. See Metricool vs Planoly.

Pick it over Coachful if you sell mostly small digital products from your bio and want PayPal available at checkout.

5. ManyChat: when DMs are the whole funnel

ManyChat's homepage as it appeared in October 2026
ManyChat's homepage in October 2026.

ManyChat goes well beyond Metricool's Flows. It covers Instagram, Messenger, TikTok, Telegram, WhatsApp, SMS and email, collects emails and phone numbers inside DMs, and can check whether someone follows you before continuing. It bills by monthly Active Contacts, so a post that spreads widely can add overage charges. See our ManyChat review.

Pick it over Coachful if you need WhatsApp or SMS DM automation, a follow-gate, or email capture inside the DM.

6. Hootsuite: built for bigger teams

Hootsuite's homepage as it appeared in October 2026
Hootsuite's homepage in October 2026.

Hootsuite is enterprise-oriented and priced per user, with Standard at $99 per user monthly billed yearly, or $149 monthly, capped at 10 social accounts. Its inbox also handles WhatsApp messages. For most solo coaches, this is far more than the job requires. See Metricool vs Hootsuite.

Pick it over Coachful if you run a large organization's social function with a dedicated team and budget.

Some coaches also look at all-in-one marketing suites. GoHighLevel, covered in our GoHighLevel review, is agency-first, starts at $97/month, and has no habit tracking, client check-ins or structured coaching-program engine. Our comparison hub and reviews index cover the wider field, and our coaching software overview explains what a full stack includes.

Should you use Metricool and a coaching platform together?

Yes, that can be a sensible setup if social is your main channel and you need analytics or networks a coaching platform lacks. Give each tool one clear job so nothing is done twice.

  1. Decide where publishing lives. If you post to TikTok or Pinterest, or want competitor tracking, keep publishing in Metricool. If you post only to the six networks Coachful publishes to, you may be able to drop the extra tool.
  2. Decide where comment-to-DM lives. Run a given Instagram keyword from one tool only, so nobody receives two DMs. We would run it from Coachful, since that places the person directly in your lead records.
  3. Make every social link end in one place. Whatever your bio page is, point it at your booking page, application form or checkout so the record starts there.
  4. Review twice a year. Check how many leads and clients came from social against what you pay. If you rarely open the analytics, downgrade to Metricool's Free plan or cancel.

Before dropping Metricool, export what you want to keep: analytics lists, competitor tables, SmartLinks metrics and the content calendar are all available as CSV.

What is the final verdict on Metricool?

Metricool is a good social media tool at a fair price, and we would recommend it to a coach who is serious about content and wants analytics. The free plan is a low-risk way to test it, Starter is reasonable if you need LinkedIn, and the only pricing that stings is the Advanced jump for one assistant. Read the renewal terms before paying annually, given what reviewers report.

It does not run a coaching business, and it does not claim to. If most of your software pain sits after the first reply, with booking, contracts, payments, programs and client follow-up scattered across several logins, a better social tool will not fix it. That is the problem Coachful was built for, and it is what we would choose first, adding Metricool later only if the social numbers justify it.

Metricool review FAQ

Is Metricool really free?

Yes, Metricool lists a "free, forever" plan as of October 2026. It covers 1 brand, 20 scheduled posts per month and 30 days of analytics. It excludes LinkedIn, X and Flows, so coaches who rely on LinkedIn will need a paid plan.

How much does Metricool cost per month?

Starter is $25/month billed monthly or $20/month billed annually for up to 5 brands. Advanced starts at $67/month billed monthly or $53/month billed annually for up to 15 brands. Prices exclude VAT and were listed in October 2026.

Does Metricool have a free trial of paid plans?

The pricing page does not state a standard paid-plan trial, and the Free plan fills that role. Promo-code trials occasionally appear on event and landing pages. That means you cannot count on testing Flows or LinkedIn without paying first.

Can an assistant use my Metricool account?

Team and client management with roles is included from Advanced, which starts at $53/month billed annually. Metricool's published limits only imply per-plan user counts, listing team members as unlimited on Advanced and Custom. A solo coach on Starter should expect to upgrade before formally inviting anyone.

Does Metricool work with X and LinkedIn?

LinkedIn is available on paid plans. X requires a $10/month add-on per connected account, and only paid plans can buy it. The Free plan includes neither.

Can Metricool take bookings or payments for a coach?

No. Metricool has no booking calendar and does not process payments for your products or services. It can send people to those tools through SmartLinks or a DM, but the booking and checkout have to happen elsewhere.

Does Metricool do Instagram comment-to-DM?

Yes, on paid plans, through Flows, which also handles keyword DM replies. Metricool currently describes this as included at no extra cost for a limited time and does not publish what comes after. The Free plan does not include it.

Can Coachful replace Metricool?

Partly. Coachful schedules and publishes to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Threads and YouTube and runs Instagram automations, which covers many coaches' posting needs. It has no social analytics dashboards, TikTok or Pinterest publishing, or unified social inbox, so keep Metricool if you depend on those.

What is Coachful's white-glove service?

It is a free build service on every Coachful plan. You describe what you need, such as a website, funnel or program, and the Coachful team builds it inside your account, usually within about 24 hours. It does not include recording videos, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing.

What is the best Metricool alternative for coaches?

For coaches who want the whole client journey in one login, we recommend Coachful, with the disclosure that we make it. If you only want a different scheduler, Buffer is the simplest swap. If DMs are your entire funnel, ManyChat goes deeper than Metricool's Flows.
