Ruzuku vs Thinkific for Coaches: 2026 Prices and Verdict

Ruzuku vs Thinkific for Coaches: 2026 Prices and Verdict

In the ruzuku vs thinkific decision, Ruzuku is the better pick for a coach running a small number of courses or cohorts who wants a cheaper entry point, a genuinely free plan for up to 5 students and support for your students included, while Thinkific suits coaches building a larger course business with more admins, deeper course tools and a path to enterprise features. Neither one gives you a built-in 1:1 booking calendar, client habits or daily check-ins, so a coach whose income comes from sessions and programs, not just courses, will need extra tools with either.

We make Coachful, a coaching platform, so read our third-option section with that in mind. Everything we say about Ruzuku and Thinkific below comes from what each vendor documents on its own pages as listed in October 2026, plus public review scores. We have not run paid accounts on either; where a detail comes from an older profile of a vendor, we say so.

What is the short answer by use case?

Pick by the shape of your offer, not by brand. If most of your revenue will come from one or two courses or cohorts, Ruzuku is cheaper and simpler; if you are building a course catalogue with a team, Thinkific scales further; if your business is coaching clients through programs, both leave gaps.

  • You are testing a first course with a handful of people: Ruzuku. Its Free plan allows up to 5 enrolled students at a time with no credit card and 0% transaction fees, as listed in October 2026.
  • You run a cohort course with live calls and discussion: Ruzuku Core. Live video meetings, discussions and direct messaging are on every plan, and Core removes the student cap.
  • You sell many courses, bundles and memberships with 2 or more admins: Thinkific Start or Grow. Unlimited courses, bundles, upsells, memberships and up to 10,000 current students on Start.
  • You need B2B sales, an API or question banks: Thinkific Grow or higher.
  • You coach 1:1 or in small groups and want booking, contracts, habits and check-ins in one place: neither. Look at a coaching platform such as Coachful, covered in its own section below.

How do Ruzuku and Thinkific compare side by side?

Ruzuku is a lean course platform with a free entry plan and live meetings built in; Thinkific is a larger course and community platform with higher prices, more admin seats and more advanced add-ons. Our ranking criteria for coaches: one login for the whole client journey, delivery between sessions, total monthly stack cost, and how much setup effort you carry yourself.

The big difference between the two vendors is the entry experience. Ruzuku lets you start for nothing and pay $99 a month when you pass 5 students. Thinkific asks for $109 a month (or $82 a month billed annually) from day one after its 30-day trial, but each plan carries much higher limits and more people can work inside the account.

How does Ruzuku pricing compare with Thinkific pricing?

Ruzuku is cheaper at every comparable tier: $99 versus $109 a month at entry, and $199 versus $219 a month at the next step up. Thinkific's annual discount (25%) is deeper, so on annual billing Thinkific Start ($82 a month) works out slightly below Ruzuku Core billed annually ($997 a year, about $83.08 a month).

What Ruzuku charges

Ruzuku lists three plans as of October 2026. The Free plan allows up to 5 students enrolled at a time, unlimited courses and video hosting (videos up to 2 GB each), live meetings, community, sales pages and payments, plus tech support for you and your students. Email course invitations need a paid plan. Core costs $99 a month or $997 a year ("save $191") and removes the student cap. Pro costs $199 a month or $1,997 a year ("save $391") and adds white-label branding and a custom domain, multiple instructor accounts, co-teacher courses, certificates of completion, a public storefront, digital product sales, AI transcription and captions, Zoom recording integration, custom registration fields, and Meta Pixel and Google Analytics.

Two things to note for coaches. First, a custom domain and your own branding sit on Pro, so a coach who wants the course to live at their own address pays $199 a month. Second, Ruzuku has a 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee instead of a timed trial, and nonprofits, NGOs, government and education buyers get 30% off annual plans. For the full breakdown, see our Ruzuku pricing guide.

What Thinkific charges

Thinkific's pricing page showed euros when it was checked, so the USD figures here come from Thinkific's official information page, confirmed October 2026. Start costs $109 a month ($82 billed annually) and includes 10,000 current students, 2 admins, 1 community with 10 spaces, 5 live community events, 200 GB a month of video bandwidth and live cohorts with Zoom. Grow costs $219 a month ($164 annually) and adds 6 admins, removal of Thinkific branding, exams and question banks, B2B sales and invoicing, the API and webhooks, and phone or priority chat. Expand costs $499 a month ($374 annually) with 15 admins, email white-labeling and revenue sharing with up to 10 partners. Plus is custom priced and adds SSO, SCORM, HubSpot and Salesforce, and an AI teaching assistant.

Prices rose about 10% on August 13, 2026 (Start went from $99 to $109, Grow from $199 to $219), and the old Basic plan is no longer on the public page. A branded mobile app is a $199 a month add-on (included on select Plus contracts). Payments through Thinkific Payments carry no Thinkific transaction fee, but using Stripe or PayPal as a third-party gateway adds a per-plan gateway fee whose amount is not listed on the page. Our Thinkific pricing guide goes plan by plan.

What the real monthly bill looks like for a coach

Here is an illustrative example, not a quote. A coach with 12 paying clients who sells a signature course and runs weekly 1:1 calls would need, on Ruzuku, Core at $99 a month (more than 5 students) plus a separate booking tool and a separate e-signature tool for coaching agreements. On Thinkific, the same coach needs Start at $109 a month plus the same booking and contract tools, and $199 a month more if they want their own branded app. In both cases, habit tracking and daily check-ins would mean yet another tool or a spreadsheet. Add up your own stack before comparing headline prices.

How do the course builders compare?

Both build solid courses; Thinkific offers more depth for assessment and catalogue selling, while Ruzuku keeps the builder simpler and leans on discussion. If courses are your main product, Thinkific gives you more room to grow.

Ruzuku's features page documents a course builder with video, audio, downloads, quizzes and discussions, with drip by enrollment date or fixed dates. That fixed-date drip is useful for cohort coaches: everyone in a group unlocks week three on the same Monday. Video streams up to 1080p on Free and Core, and up to 4K with 4 GB files on Pro.

Thinkific's Start plan already includes unlimited courses, digital downloads, quizzes, certificates, bundles, upsells, payment plans and memberships. Grow adds exams and question banks, and Plus adds SCORM and learning paths. For coaches who sell a certification-style program, Thinkific's assessment tools are the stronger choice. For a deeper look, our Thinkific review covers the course side in detail.

Which has better community and live sessions?

Ruzuku includes live video meetings on every plan, including Free; Thinkific includes communities and live cohorts with Zoom but caps spaces, events and group size by plan. For a coach who runs live group calls inside the course, Ruzuku's built-in meetings are the simpler setup.

Ruzuku documents built-in live meetings for up to 60 people in conference mode and 250 in presentation mode, plus Zoom, with community discussions and direct messaging on every plan. Thinkific Start includes 1 community with 10 spaces, 5 live community events and a maximum group size of 50; Grow raises this to 3 communities, 20 spaces and group size 100; Expand to 10 communities, 200 spaces and unlimited group size.

Neither platform documents cohort groups that are created automatically when someone enrolls in a coaching program, and neither connects community activity to a per-client record you review before a session.

Can you book 1:1 coaching sessions in Ruzuku or Thinkific?

Not natively in either case. Ruzuku's own coaching page says clients schedule 1:1 time through your own calendar tool, and Thinkific does not document a native 1:1 booking calendar with availability rules (an older profile notes coaching products rely on external booking links).

That matters more than any price difference for a working coach. Without built-in booking, you add a scheduling app, connect it to your calendar and video tool, and manually match bookings to the person who bought the course. Session credits, intake questions on booking, buffers and reminders all live in that other tool. Thinkific does sell "coaching and webinar products" on every plan, so you can take payment for a call, but the scheduling still happens elsewhere.

If 1:1 work is central, see how dedicated coaching scheduling software handles availability, calendar sync and paid sessions in one place.

How do payments, fees and data export compare?

Ruzuku is the cleaner deal on fees: 0% transaction fees on every plan, including Free, with Stripe or PayPal. Thinkific is 0% only when you use Thinkific Payments; bringing your own Stripe or PayPal adds a gateway fee.

  • Ruzuku: Stripe and PayPal; one-time payments, subscriptions and installment plans; processor fees "typically 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction". Student data exports to CSV; course content export is not stated. Ruzuku says courses, students and sales history are kept if you downgrade or cancel.
  • Thinkific: Thinkific Payments (described as "in line with other processors at 2.9%"), Stripe or PayPal with a gateway fee; bundles, upsells and payment plans on Start; B2B invoicing on Grow. Students and the email list export to CSV; according to an older profile, course content is downloaded manually. If you are leaving, our guide on how to migrate from Thinkific walks through it.

Neither documents coaching agreements with e-signature before the first call. If you run 1:1 or high-ticket programs, plan for a separate contract tool or a platform with coaching contracts built in.

What is the client experience like on each?

On Ruzuku, students learn in a mobile web app they can add to their home screen, and Ruzuku's tech support helps your students directly on every plan. On Thinkific, an app with your own branding costs $199 a month extra.

Ruzuku's student support is an underrated perk for coaches whose clients are not technical: a client who cannot log in can contact Ruzuku rather than you. The trade-off is that there is no native iOS or Android app, so clients rely on mobile web.

Thinkific's student side is built like a school, with certificates, communities and a branded storefront (Thinkific branding is removed from Grow up). The branded mobile app is the expensive part: on Start, adding it takes the monthly bill from $109 to $308.

What clients do not get on either: a daily view of their habits, a morning check-in, a goal with a progress bar, or a single place where their sessions, contracts, notes and course sit together. Both are built around the course, not around the client.

How do public reviewers rate them?

Thinkific's Trustpilot score was 1.8 from 868 reviews when checked in October 2026. Ruzuku's Trustpilot profile had no reviews; its homepage shows a G2 badge with a 4.4 rating, though we could not verify the review count. Review scores reflect who chooses to leave reviews, so treat them as one signal among several.

Is there a third option that beats both for coaches?

Yes, if your business is coaching clients rather than selling courses alone. Coachful is a coaching platform where one subscription covers booking, payments, contracts, program delivery with habits and check-ins, courses, a community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant, with one login for you and one branded app for your clients.

Coachful is built for coaches who deliver programs, not just sessions; for solo coaches growing into a small team; and for coaches replacing 4 to 6 tools. It is made by a company based in Tallinn, Estonia, and holds a Trustpilot score of 4.5 from 21 reviews.

Where Coachful beats Ruzuku and Thinkific

  • Booking is built in. Booking pages with availability rules, buffers, minimum notice and time-zone detection; two-way Google, Apple/iCloud and Outlook sync; built-in video or auto-created Zoom, Meet or Teams links; email reminders, plus SMS 24 hours before and WhatsApp 1 hour before once messaging is enabled; paid sessions, session credits and intake questions on booking.
  • Clients get work between sessions. Multi-week programs with weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals with progress bars and streaks.
  • Contracts come before the first call. Coaching agreements with e-signature, stored on the client record.
  • One client record. Goals, check-ins, habits, notes, intake answers, tags, payments, sessions and an AI briefing per client, with a status of thriving, active, quiet or at risk.
  • Courses are still there. Modules, lessons, drip and completion tracking, plus downloads, videos, books, events and bundles, delivered into the client's branded home and app.
  • No platform fee. Payments run through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account with a 0% Coachful platform fee (since August 2026): one-time, subscriptions, payment plans, order bumps, coupons, refunds, Apple Pay and Google Pay, and Stripe Tax.
  • A branded client app at no add-on cost. Clients use your branding inside the Coachful app, included in your Coachful membership.

Where Ruzuku or Thinkific beat Coachful

Coachful is not the right answer for every coach, and here is where the others win:

  • A permanent free plan: Ruzuku has one for up to 5 students. Coachful has no permanent free plan, only a free trial.
  • PayPal: both Ruzuku and Thinkific accept it. Coachful does not support PayPal.
  • Large course catalogues and enterprise learning: Thinkific offers SSO, SCORM, learning paths and HubSpot or Salesforce on Plus. Coachful is not a course marketplace and has no Salesforce or HubSpot integration.
  • Your own App Store listing: Thinkific's branded app add-on targets that need. Coachful's client app ships under the Coachful listing with your branding.
  • Nonprofit pricing: Ruzuku offers nonprofits 30% off annual plans and a one-time Lifetime Pro option.
  • Clinical work: Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and does not sign a BAA, so clinical records and insurance billing belong in a clinical system.

How Coachful is priced

Coachful uses flat monthly plans: lower plans cap the number of clients, Pro is unlimited, and team plans add coach seats. Monthly plans cancel in one click. Current plans: Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients. Compare that with the total of a course platform plus a booking tool, an e-signature tool and a habit tracker, not with the course platform alone.

Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. On every plan, you can go to Create and choose "We'll build it for you · FREE", describe what you want, attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files (logos, photos, brand guides, copy; no video files), and the Coachful team builds it inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours. That can be a website, a funnel, a sales page, a program, a course outline with written material, an email sequence, a form or a lead quiz. Nothing is invented: no fake credentials, testimonials or prices, and gaps are left for you to fill. It does not include recording videos, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing. A somatic coach leaving Kajabi, for example, had the homepage and About page rebuilt and the contact form connected; a real-estate and money coach got a year-long cohort program with an application form, an eight-page site and a free nine-day bootcamp funnel. Read more about the free white-glove service.

How to start

  1. Start a free trial and connect your Stripe or Razorpay account and your calendar.
  2. Ask for your clients, programs and content to be imported; that happens for you during onboarding.
  3. Request a white-glove build for your website, first program or course.
  4. Invite clients to the branded app and send your first coaching agreement.

What should you check before you commit?

Run the same three tests on whichever platform you are leaning toward: count your real stack, check the client's path end to end, and confirm how you would leave. Those three checks catch most regrets.

  1. Count your real stack. List every tool you would pay for alongside the course platform: booking, e-signature, email, habit tracking, a website. Compare the total, not the headline plan.
  2. Walk the client's path. From the first visit to booking, paying, signing, joining the program and checking in on day 10, count the logins a client needs.
  3. Plan your exit. Ruzuku exports student data to CSV and keeps your content if you cancel; Thinkific exports students and the email list to CSV. Coachful exports a full ZIP of the roster, notes, check-ins, goals, habits, sessions and form responses, plus courses.
  4. Check where your clients are. If many of them pay with PayPal, Ruzuku and Thinkific support it and Coachful does not.

The comparison hub and our guide to coaching software cover other platforms if neither of these two fits.

Frequently asked questions

Is Ruzuku cheaper than Thinkific?

On monthly billing, yes: Ruzuku Core is $99 a month against Thinkific Start at $109, and Ruzuku Pro is $199 against Thinkific Grow at $219, as listed in October 2026. On annual billing they are almost level at entry, with Thinkific Start at $82 a month and Ruzuku Core at about $83.08 a month ($997 a year). Ruzuku also has a Free plan for up to 5 students.

Does Ruzuku or Thinkific take a cut of sales?

Ruzuku charges 0% transaction fees on every plan, so you only pay Stripe or PayPal processing. Thinkific charges no transaction fee when you use Thinkific Payments, but using Stripe or PayPal as a third-party gateway adds a per-plan gateway fee that the pricing page does not list.

Can I book coaching calls in Ruzuku or Thinkific?

Neither has a documented native 1:1 booking calendar. Ruzuku's coaching page tells you to use your own calendar tool, and Thinkific's coaching products rely on external booking links according to an older profile. You can sell a call on either, but scheduling happens in another app.

Which one has a mobile app?

Ruzuku has no native iOS or Android app; students use mobile web and can add it to their home screen. Thinkific offers a branded mobile app as a $199 a month add-on, included only on select Plus contracts.

Is Ruzuku's free plan really free?

Ruzuku calls it "Free forever": up to 5 students enrolled at a time, unlimited courses, videos up to 2 GB each and no credit card. Email course invitations need a paid plan, and a custom domain and white-label branding need Pro.

Which is better for group coaching programs?

For a course-led cohort with live calls, Ruzuku's built-in meetings and fixed-date drip are simple and affordable. For a group coaching program with habits, check-ins and per-client follow-up, neither tracks individual progress between sessions; a platform with group coaching software features fits better.

What is Coachful's free white-glove service?

It is a build service included on every Coachful plan: you describe what you want (a website, funnel, program, course outline, email sequence and more), attach up to 8 links and 10 files, and the Coachful team builds it in your account, usually within about 24 hours. It does not include recording videos, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing.

Can I move my courses from Thinkific or Ruzuku to Coachful?

Yes. During onboarding, your clients, programs and content are imported for you. Export your student list as a CSV from either platform first, and keep your original video files handy, since Thinkific course content is downloaded manually according to an older profile.

Does Coachful support PayPal or a forever plan at no cost?

No. Coachful takes payments through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account, with Apple Pay and Google Pay, and offers a free trial rather than a permanent free plan. If PayPal or a forever-free tier matters most, Ruzuku covers both.
