upcoach Pricing in 2026: Plans, Fees and What Coaches Pay

upcoach Pricing in 2026: Plans, Fees and What Coaches Pay

upcoach pricing in October 2026 starts at $49 a month for the Starter plan (25 active participants, one team seat) and climbs through Pro at $99, Business at $199 and Scale at $399 a month, with a custom-priced Enterprise plan above 500 participants. Every plan below Scale also takes an upcoach transaction fee of 1% or 2% on client payments, on top of Stripe's own processing. There is no free plan. There is a 14-day trial with no credit card, and a 14-day money-back guarantee on your first paid subscription.

This guide covers every plan, fee and add-on upcoach lists, works out what a coach pays at three sizes, flags the gotchas on the pricing page, and compares the totals with five alternatives. We make Coachful, one of those alternatives, so we say plainly where upcoach is the better fit, and every upcoach figure here is what its own pricing page listed on October 25, 2026.

What does upcoach cost in 2026?

upcoach costs $49, $99, $199 or $399 a month on its four published plans, and Enterprise is quoted on request. The plans are priced by active participants and team seats, so the bill is set by the size of your programs rather than by features alone.

upcoach is built for group and cohort coaching: you build programs, enroll participants, and track their progress on dashboards with AI-generated insights and impact reports. That shapes the pricing. A coach running a 20-person leadership cohort and a coach with 20 private clients pay the same Starter price, but the first one gets far more out of what the plan includes.

Two things stand out in that table. First, the annual column: the pricing page's billing toggle says "2 months free", yet the annual totals it shows are exactly 12 times the monthly price. We cover what to do about that in the gotchas section. Second, the transaction fee only disappears at Scale, the $399 plan, which matters more than the subscription price for any coach who takes client payments through upcoach.

Per participant, the plans get cheaper as they grow, if you fill them. Starter works out to $1.96 per participant at a full 25, Pro to $0.99 at 100, Business to about $0.80 at 250, and Scale to about $0.80 at 500. Half-empty plans cost twice that per head, which is why matching your plan to your real roster is the first way to save.

Build your platform

What does each upcoach plan add?

Each step up raises the participant and seat limits and lowers the transaction fee; only Pro and Scale add new kinds of features. Here is what upcoach's page lists for each one in October 2026.

Starter: $49 a month

Starter includes unlimited programs, progress dashboards, AI insights and access to your upcoach data from Claude or ChatGPT through MCP (a connector standard that lets an AI assistant read your account). Limits are 25 active participants, one team seat, three AI impact reports a month and 100 GB of storage. The upcoach fee on client payments is 2%, the highest of any plan. Starter suits a coach testing a first small group program on their own.

Pro: $99 a month

Pro is the first plan with your own brand colors and logo, a custom domain and multi-role access with Admin, Facilitator and Sponsor roles. The Sponsor role matters to corporate and leadership coaches, because the person paying for a program, such as an HR lead, can be given their own role in it. Limits rise to 100 participants, two seats, 15 impact reports a month and 250 GB, and the fee drops to 1%. Pro does not allow extra seats, so a third coach means moving to Business.

Business: $199 a month

Business raises the limits to 250 participants, five seats, 50 impact reports a month and 500 GB. It is the first plan where you can buy extra participants and extra seats instead of upgrading. The fee stays at 1%. In older profiles this plan was called Business+ and charged 0.5%, so the fee on this tier has doubled.

Scale: $399 a month

Scale covers 500 participants, ten seats and 1 TB, adds the full role model across teams, and drops the upcoach transaction fee to 0%. For a coaching firm collecting serious revenue through the platform, Scale can cost less in total than Business, which we work through below.

Enterprise: custom pricing

Enterprise is for programs above 500 participants and firm-wide pilots. It is the only plan with a branded mobile app published in the app stores. upcoach does not publish a price; expect a sales conversation.

What fees does upcoach charge on top of the plan?

upcoach adds its own transaction fee of 2% on Starter and 1% on Pro and Business when clients pay through the platform, plus Stripe's processing on every payment. Add-ons for extra participants and seats are $99 a month each, but only on Business and Scale.

Transaction fees

The upcoach fee is a percentage of what your clients pay you through the platform. At 2%, a coach who collects $5,000 a month through upcoach hands over $100 a month on top of the $49 subscription. The fee is charged in addition to Stripe, which is the payment processor upcoach lists, so you pay both.

Processing

Stripe's processing fees go to Stripe, not upcoach, and vary by country and card type. Because upcoach lists only Stripe, you cannot route client payments through PayPal or a local processor inside upcoach based on what its page shows.

Add-ons and overages

Extra participants cost $99 a month per block of 100, and extra seats cost $99 a month each, on Business and Scale only. Starter and Pro have no add-ons listed, so outgrowing either one means upgrading the whole plan. Older profiles of upcoach (September 2026) listed extra seats at $39 a month, so seats now cost more than double what they did.

Seats

A seat is a team member who builds or runs programs. Starter has one, Pro two, Business five and Scale ten. Participants do not use seats.

What does a coach actually pay for upcoach?

For most coaches the real monthly cost is the plan plus 1% to 2% of client revenue, plus whatever tools upcoach does not replace. The table below works through three example practices. The revenue figures are illustrative examples, not benchmarks, and the totals exclude Stripe processing because it applies on every platform.

OptionSolo coach: 20 clients, $4,000/month collected (example)Cohort coach: 90 participants, 2 coaches, $12,000/month (example)Small firm: 220 participants, 4 coaches, $30,000/month (example)Tools still needed beside it

upcoach yearly total before Stripe$1,548$2,628Scale: $4,788For example HoneyBook Starter at $29/month billed annually for contracts and invoices, or Kit Creator from $39/month for email

Three things fall out of those numbers.

  • The solo coach pays more in fees than in subscription. At $4,000 a month collected, the 2% fee ($80) is larger than the Starter plan itself. Once a Starter coach collects $5,000 a month through upcoach, Pro costs the same in total ($99 plus 1% versus $49 plus 2%), and above that Pro is cheaper even if you never use the extra participants.
  • The small firm should skip Business. Business plus its 1% fee beats Scale only while you collect less than $20,000 a month through upcoach. At $30,000 a month, Scale saves $100 a month and doubles your participant and seat limits.
  • The "tools still needed" column is real money. upcoach's plan list centres on programs, dashboards and AI reports. It does not mention contracts, invoicing, a public website or email marketing, and older profiles of upcoach (September 2026) noted no contracts or invoicing. A coach who needs those adds another subscription or two; see our HoneyBook pricing and Kit pricing guides for what those cost.

If you are still setting the price of the program itself, our group coaching pricing calculator walks through break-even per seat, and the guide to early-bird pricing for group coaching covers how to fill a cohort before launch.

What hidden costs and gotchas should you watch for?

The biggest surprises in upcoach pricing are an annual discount that the page advertises but does not show, a transaction fee that grows with your revenue, and hard ceilings on Starter and Pro that force a full upgrade. Here is the full list.

  1. The annual toggle does not show a saving. The page says "2 months free" for annual billing, but the annual totals equal 12 months at the monthly price ($588, $1,188, $2,388 and $4,788). Before paying for a year, ask upcoach in writing what the annual price is. If the "2 months free" is real, a year of Pro would be $990, not $1,188.
  2. The fee rises with your success. A flat subscription stays flat; a percentage does not. Run the break-even sums above each time your revenue grows.
  3. Participant ceilings jump, they do not stretch. Participant 26 on Starter means Pro, at double the price. Participant 101 on Pro means Business, at double again. Only Business and Scale let you buy 100 more participants for $99.
  4. Pro caps you at two coaches. Extra seats are not available on Pro, so adding a third coach moves you from $99 to $199 a month.
  5. Adding seats on Business can cost as much as Scale. Business with two extra seats is $397 a month for seven seats and still charges 1%. Scale is $399 for ten seats with no fee.
  6. AI impact reports are rationed. Starter includes three a month and Pro 15. If you promise sponsors a report per participant per month, check the allowance first.
  7. A branded app costs Enterprise money. Only Enterprise gets a mobile app in the app stores under your brand, and Enterprise has no published price.
  8. The refund window got shorter. The money-back guarantee is now 14 days on your first paid subscription; older profiles (September 2026) listed 30 days.
  9. Prices have moved. In older profiles (September 2026), $49, $99 and $199 were the annual rates, and GetApp listed monthly prices of $59, $119 and $249. Today $49, $99 and $199 are the monthly prices. Save a copy of the pricing page on the day you sign up.
  10. Check your exit route. Older profiles (September 2026) describe a client export to CSV, including custom fields, from the Admin Panel. Ask what else exports, such as program content and progress history, before you build a library of programs inside it.

Reviews give little to go on: upcoach's Trustpilot page had no reviews when we checked in October 2026, and an older Capterra profile (September 2026) showed 4.9 from 8 reviews. That is too few to judge billing or support from.

Is upcoach worth the price for your kind of coaching?

upcoach is worth its price for coaches who run cohort or company-sponsored programs and want progress reporting for a sponsor. It is harder to justify for solo 1:1 coaches who need booking, contracts, payments and marketing in one place.

Leadership and executive coaches selling to companies

This is upcoach's strongest case. The Pro plan's Sponsor role, impact reports and progress dashboards are built for a buyer who wants evidence a program is working. If an HR team pays for a 60-person leadership program, $99 a month plus 1% is a small line in that budget. Coaches in this market should also look at our platform for executive coaches and the guide to value-based pricing for executive coaches.

Group and cohort coaches selling to individuals

A good fit on the delivery side, if your cohorts stay inside a plan's limits. The catch is everything around delivery: a sales page, an application or checkout funnel, email sequences, and contracts. Budget for those separately, or compare with an all-in-one group coaching platform.

Solo 1:1 coaches

Usually not the best value. At Starter you pay for a cohort platform plus the highest 2% fee, and you still need tools for booking pages, contracts and a website. A practice built on private sessions and packages gets more from a platform that bundles those.

Coaching firms with several coaches

Worth it at Scale for firms collecting more than about $20,000 a month through the platform, because the fee drops to zero and ten seats are included. Below that, Business is cheaper in total, but watch the seat add-on maths above.

Health, wellness and fitness coaches

upcoach's plan list does not mention workout builders, nutrition targets or habit check-ins, so check its feature pages before assuming they exist. Whatever platform you use, coaching is not medical treatment: if a client describes symptoms, disordered eating or a mental health concern, refer them to a licensed professional.

How does upcoach pricing compare with the alternatives?

Compared with other coaching platforms, upcoach sits in the middle on subscription price but is one of the few that adds its own percentage fee on client payments. The table compares the entry price, the cost of a plan for about 100 clients, the platform's own fee, and the trial, as listed in October 2026.

  • Paperbell charges one price for everything with unlimited clients, but older profiles (September 2026) list no courses, community, or goal and habit tracking. Our Paperbell pricing guide has the detail.
  • CoachAccountable is priced per active client, which is cheap for five clients and expensive for a large group.
  • Simply.Coach caps clients, contracts and programs on every solo tier below Leap.
  • Practice Better is the one with a free plan; evergreen programs, portal branding and SMS start on its $99 Plus plan. See our Practice Better pricing breakdown.

Where does Coachful fit, and what does it cost?

Coachful is a flat monthly subscription with no Coachful fee on client payments, and it covers the tools upcoach leaves to other subscriptions. Current plans: Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients.

Coachful's client Programs view with an enrolled group program on the laptop, and the Growing Habits tracker on the phone.

What Coachful is. Coachful is a coaching platform. One subscription covers booking, payments, contracts, program delivery with habits and check-ins, courses, a community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant, with one login for the coach and one branded app for the client. It is built for coaches who deliver programs, not just sessions, for solo coaches growing into a small team, and for coaches replacing four to six tools. Lower plans cap the number of clients, Pro is unlimited, team plans add coach seats, and monthly plans cancel in one click.

How it differs from upcoach on cost. Coachful charges a 0% platform fee on client payments (since August 2026); you pay only your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account's processing. That removes the variable part of the bill that dominates upcoach's totals for a solo coach. Payments cover one-time charges, subscriptions, payment plans, order bumps, coupons, refunds, Apple Pay and Google Pay, with Stripe Tax and an invoice per transaction.

What replaces the "tools still needed" column. Coaching agreements with e-signature go out before the first call and are stored on the client record (see coaching contracts). Booking pages handle availability rules, buffers, time zones and two-way Google, Apple and Outlook calendar sync, with built-in video or auto-created Zoom, Meet or Teams links. The section-based website builder includes a blog, custom domain, 30 designed homepage templates and booking, application, lead-magnet and checkout funnels. Email lists, broadcasts and multi-step sequences are included in your Coachful membership.

What it does for groups and teams. Multi-week programs carry weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins and streaks. Cohort groups are created automatically when clients enroll in a program, alongside a community feed, group chat and video events. Each client record shows goals, check-ins, notes, payments and a status of thriving, active, quiet or at risk, with an AI briefing from Michelle, the built-in assistant, before each session. Team plans (Studio and Agency) add coach seats with per-coach availability and staff permissions; see Coachful for teams.

This short walkthrough shows how a program is built and delivered in Coachful:

What Coachful does not do. It is not HIPAA-certified and offers no BAA, so it is not for clinical record-keeping or insurance billing. There is no PayPal and no permanent free plan. The client app ships under the Coachful listing with your branding, not under your own App Store account. There is no multi-stage sales deal board for large teams and no Salesforce or HubSpot integration. Coaches who need sponsor-facing impact reports for corporate programs may find upcoach's reporting closer to what they want.

Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. On every plan, you can ask the Coachful team to build something for you from Create > We'll build it for you · FREE: a website, funnel, sales page, program, course outline, email sequence, form, link in bio, webinar page or automation. You describe it, attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files, and the team builds it inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours. Nothing gets invented, so gaps are left for you to fill. One recent build: a real-estate and money coach got a year-long cohort program with an application form, an eight-page site and a free nine-day bootcamp funnel. It does not include recording videos, logo design or ad management. Read more about the free white-glove build service.

How can you pay less for upcoach?

The cheapest upcoach bill comes from choosing the plan by total cost, fee included, rather than by sticker price, and from keeping your active participant count inside the plan you pay for.

  1. Use the trial and the guarantee properly. The 14-day trial needs no card. Run a real cohort through it, then remember the money-back window on your first paid subscription is also 14 days, not 30.
  2. Do the fee break-even. Move from Starter to Pro once you collect about $5,000 a month through upcoach, and from Business to Scale once you collect about $20,000 a month.
  3. Ask about the annual price in writing. The page advertises "2 months free" but shows no discount. If upcoach honours the claim, a year of Pro drops from $1,188 to $990.
  4. Count active participants carefully. Plans are capped by active participants. Ask upcoach how finished cohorts and alumni count before you pay for a bigger tier to hold people who have already completed a program.
  5. Price seats against Scale. On Business, two extra seats bring you within $2 of Scale, which has ten seats and no transaction fee.
  6. Take some payments outside the platform if your contract allows. The upcoach fee applies to payments made through upcoach. If a corporate client pays you by bank transfer, ask upcoach how it treats enrollments paid elsewhere.
  7. Price the program to cover the platform. A 1% to 2% fee is easier to absorb when the program price is set with costs in mind. Our coaching pricing audit and coaching tier pricing models guides show how.

upcoach pricing FAQ

How much does upcoach cost per month?

As listed in October 2026, upcoach costs $49 a month for Starter, $99 for Pro, $199 for Business and $399 for Scale. Enterprise, for more than 500 participants, is a custom quote. Plans below Scale also charge a 1% or 2% fee on client payments.

Does upcoach have a free plan or a free trial?

There is no free plan. upcoach offers a 14-day free trial with no credit card, and a 14-day money-back guarantee on your first paid subscription.

Does upcoach charge transaction fees?

Yes. upcoach takes 2% on Starter and 1% on Pro and Business, on top of Stripe's processing fees. Scale and Enterprise have no upcoach transaction fee.

Is upcoach cheaper if you pay annually?

The page's toggle says "2 months free", but the annual totals it shows are 12 times the monthly price, for example $1,188 a year for Pro. Ask upcoach to confirm the annual price before you pay for a year.

How much does it cost to add coaches or participants on upcoach?

Extra participants cost $99 a month per 100 and extra seats cost $99 a month each. Both are available only on Business and Scale; Pro does not allow extra seats, and Starter has no add-ons listed.

Which upcoach plan includes a branded mobile app?

Only Enterprise includes a branded mobile app published in the app stores. Pro and above include your brand colors, logo and a custom domain on the platform itself.

Is upcoach worth it for a solo coach?

For a solo coach running small group programs, Starter can work, but the 2% fee often costs more than the plan once you collect a few thousand dollars a month. Solo 1:1 coaches also need separate tools for contracts, invoices and a website, so an all-in-one platform usually costs less in total.

What is Coachful's free white-glove service?

On every Coachful plan, you can ask the team to build a website, funnel, program, course outline, email sequence or similar inside your own account. You send a description, links and files, and the build usually arrives within about 24 hours. It does not cover recording videos, logo design or ad management.

What is a cheaper alternative to upcoach for 1:1 coaching?

Coachful bundles booking, contracts, payments, programs and a website with a 0% platform fee (Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients). Among other tools, Simply.Coach starts at $9 a month for three coachees and Paperbell charges $97 a month for unlimited clients. Compare the full roster in our upcoach alternatives guide.

Can I move my clients from upcoach to Coachful?

Older profiles of upcoach (September 2026) describe a CSV client export with custom fields from the Admin Panel. Coachful imports your clients, programs and content for you during onboarding, so you can bring that export and your program material straight across.
