ClickFunnels vs Thinkific for Coaches: 2026 Head-to-Head

In the clickfunnels vs thinkific decision, the short answer is this: ClickFunnels is a sales machine and Thinkific is a classroom. Pick ClickFunnels if your coaching business lives or dies on funnels, launches and email follow-up. Pick Thinkific if your main product is a structured online course with quizzes, certificates and a student community. Neither was built to run 1:1 or small-group coaching, which is why many coaches end up paying for both and then adding a booking tool on top.
This guide compares the two honestly on price, funnels, courses, booking, payments and what your clients actually see, using what each vendor publishes as listed in October 2026 and what public reviewers report. We make Coachful, a coaching platform, and we cover it at the end as the third option: when it beats both tools for a coach, and when it does not. If you only want one of the two vendors in depth, our ClickFunnels review and Thinkific review go further.
What is the short answer by use case?
The right pick depends on what you sell and how you deliver it. Here is the quick version before the detail.
- You sell a high-ticket program from webinars, ads or a free guide: ClickFunnels. Its whole design is the path from a landing page to a checkout, with email follow-up around it.
- You sell a self-paced or cohort course to many students: Thinkific. It is a learning platform first, with quizzes, certificates, drip schedules, live cohorts and communities.
- You sell 1:1 or small-group coaching with sessions, habits and check-ins between calls: neither tool fits on its own. You would add a scheduler, a contract tool and a way to track client progress. This is where a coaching platform such as Coachful is the better match.
- You want funnels and courses together, at one price: ClickFunnels includes a courses app, Thinkific includes basic sales pages, but each is weaker in the other's job. A combined coaching platform usually costs less than running both.
The rest of this article backs those calls up with numbers and features.
How do ClickFunnels and Thinkific compare side by side?
We ranked on four things that matter most to coaches: one login for the whole client journey, delivery between sessions, total stack cost, and setup effort (including the free white-glove build Coachful offers). On those criteria Coachful leads, ClickFunnels is second for sales-led coaches and Thinkific is second for course-led coaches.
| Platform | Built for | Entry price (monthly) | 1:1 booking | Habits and check-ins | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | Coaches who deliver programs, sessions, courses and community in one place | Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients | Built in, with two-way calendar sync and video links | Built in: habits, morning and evening check-ins, streaks, goals | 1:1, group and hybrid coaching |
| ClickFunnels | Funnels, sales pages, email and checkouts | $97 (Launch) | Appointments app included | Not offered | Launch-driven, high-ticket sales |
| Thinkific | Online courses, cohorts and communities | $109 (Start) | Relies on external booking links | Not offered | Course-first educators |
Ratings are worth a note, because the two vendors sit far apart. On Trustpilot, as seen on 25 October 2026, ClickFunnels shows 4.7 from 2,512 reviews and Thinkific shows 1.8 from 868 reviews. Star averages on Trustpilot skew toward whoever asks customers for reviews and whoever has billing complaints, so treat them as a signal to read recent reviews, not as a verdict.
What does ClickFunnels do well for coaches?
ClickFunnels does one job very well: it turns attention into a sale. You build a page sequence (opt-in, thank-you page, sales page, checkout, upsell) and attach email follow-up to each step, which is what marketers call a purchase funnel.

As listed in October 2026, every ClickFunnels plan includes all of its apps: funnels, pages, email, courses, communities, a store and appointments. The Launch plan shows funnels as "Unlimited (Limited Time)", so check the wording when you sign up. ClickFunnels states 0% commission on sales ("You'll keep every penny you make"), with processor fees on top, and payments run through its Stripe-based Payments AI, Stripe, or (per our older profile of the vendor) PayPal.
What coaches like about it:
- Sales mechanics. Multi-step funnels from opt-in to checkout are the core of the product, not an add-on, and every plan includes them.
- Email in the same tool. Launch includes 50,000 emails a month for up to 10,000 contacts, so a small list does not need a separate email service.
- Training ecosystem. The top Dominate plan bundles FunnelFlix Platinum training and a 3-hour onboarding session.
Where it falls short for coaching: ClickFunnels has no client habits, daily check-ins or structured 1:1 coaching programs. The Launch plan caps you at 3 courses and 3 communities. Our older profile of the vendor also notes that funnels are proprietary and not portable: contacts export to CSV, but pages and course content have to be rebuilt if you leave. If funnels are the part you care about, our guide on building coaching funnels without ClickFunnels shows the same structure on other tools.
What does Thinkific do well for coaches?
Thinkific is strongest when learning is the product. It is a learning management system with a storefront on top, and its course tools go deeper than what ClickFunnels offers.

As listed in October 2026, even the Start plan includes unlimited courses, digital downloads, coaching and webinar products, live cohorts with Zoom, quizzes, certificates, bundles, upsells, payment plans, memberships and a custom domain. Start allows 10,000 current students, 2 admins and 1 community with 10 spaces. Grow removes Thinkific branding and adds exams, question banks, B2B invoicing and an API. Expand adds email white-labelling and revenue sharing with up to 10 partners.
What coaches like about it:
- Serious course structure. Quizzes, certificates and (on Grow) question banks make it suitable for certification-style programs.
- Cohorts. Live cohorts with Zoom on every self-serve plan suit group programs that start on a date.
- A longer trial. Thinkific lists a 30-day free trial on every self-serve plan, against 14 days for ClickFunnels.
Where it falls short for coaching: our older profile of Thinkific notes there is no built-in 1:1 scheduling, so coaching calls rely on external booking links. There are no client habits, daily check-ins or per-client plans. A branded mobile app costs an extra $199 a month (included only on select Plus contracts). Prices also rose about 10% on 13 August 2026, with Start moving from $99 to $109 and Grow from $199 to $219, and the old Basic plan is no longer on the public pricing page. Our Thinkific pricing breakdown tracks those changes.
How much do ClickFunnels and Thinkific cost?
ClickFunnels starts at $97 a month and Thinkific at $109 a month, so the entry prices are close. The gap opens when you look at what each entry plan caps, and at what you still have to buy to run a coaching practice.
| Plan | Monthly billing | Annual billing (per month) | Key limits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful (entry, 15 clients, unlimited) | Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients | Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients | Lower plans cap clients; Pro is unlimited (Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients) |
| ClickFunnels Launch | $97 | $81 | 10K contacts, 50K emails a month, 2 team members, 3 courses, 3 communities |
| ClickFunnels Scale | $197 | $164 | 75K contacts, 300K emails, 5 team members, 6 courses and communities |
| ClickFunnels Optimize | $297 | $248 | 150K contacts, 750K emails, 10 team members |
| ClickFunnels Dominate | Annual only | $499.75 ($5,997 a year) | 400K contacts, 20 team members |
| Thinkific Start | $109 | $82 | 10,000 current students, 2 admins, 1 community |
| Thinkific Grow | $219 | $164 | 6 admins, 3 communities, branding removed |
| Thinkific Expand | $499 | $374 | 15 admins, 10 communities |
| Thinkific Plus | Custom | Custom | SSO, SCORM, HubSpot and Salesforce |

ClickFunnels prices come from its pricing page, which states annual savings of $194, $394 and $594 a year on the first three plans, plus a 30-day money-back guarantee. Thinkific's pricing page showed euros to our fetcher (Start €107 or €79 annually, Grow €213 or €159, Expand €488 or €366), so the dollar figures above come from Thinkific's own published price information, confirmed in October 2026. Annual billing saves 25% on Thinkific.

What do transaction fees add?
ClickFunnels charges no commission on sales; you pay your processor. Thinkific charges no transaction fee if you use Thinkific Payments, which it describes as "in line with other processors at 2.9%". If you connect Stripe or PayPal directly instead, Thinkific adds a per-plan gateway fee and does not list the amounts on its pricing page. Ask before you commit if you already have a Stripe account you want to keep.
What does a full coaching stack cost on each?
Here is an illustrative example, not a quote. A coach who sells a program through a webinar funnel, delivers a course and runs weekly 1:1 calls might pay, on monthly billing:
- ClickFunnels only: $97 for Launch, plus a separate tool for contracts and a way to track client habits and check-ins. ClickFunnels covers the booking with its appointments app.
- Thinkific only: $109 for Start, plus a scheduling tool, a contract tool and probably an email marketing tool for funnels. Add $199 if you want a branded app.
- Both together: $206 a month ($2,472 a year) before any scheduling or contract tool, with two logins for you and two places for your clients to look.
The "both together" stack is common: ClickFunnels for the sale, Thinkific for delivery. It works, but you are paying twice for overlapping features (each has pages, email and courses) and still missing the coaching layer.
Which is better for funnels and sales pages?
ClickFunnels wins clearly. Funnels are its reason to exist, and every plan includes them alongside email, so follow-up can be attached to each step.
Thinkific has a site builder, sales pages, checkout upsells, bundles, coupons and payment plans, which is enough to sell a course from a single page. What it does not try to be is a multi-step funnel builder with email sequences wired to each page. Coaches who run paid ads or live launches on Thinkific usually bolt a funnel or email tool on top.
If you sell from a free guide or webinar into a call or a program, ClickFunnels is the stronger of the two. Our ClickFunnels alternatives for coaches compares eight tools on exactly this job.
Which is better for online courses?
Thinkific wins. Unlimited courses on every self-serve plan, quizzes, certificates, cohorts, memberships and (on Grow) exams and question banks put it well ahead of ClickFunnels for structured learning.
ClickFunnels includes a courses app, but Launch caps it at 3 courses and Scale at 6. That is fine for a coach with one signature program and a couple of mini-courses, and limiting for anyone building a library. ClickFunnels course content also cannot be exported and has to be rebuilt elsewhere if you move, according to our older profile of the vendor.
For coaches, though, the course is rarely the whole product. Clients buy a result, and courses are one delivery format next to sessions, worksheets and accountability. Our course platform for coaches page explains the difference between a course platform and a coaching platform with courses built in.
Which handles booking, payments and contracts better?
ClickFunnels has the edge on booking because it includes an appointments app; Thinkific relies on external booking links for 1:1 calls. Neither handles coaching agreements with e-signature as a core feature.
On payments, both take 0% on sales when you use their preferred processor. ClickFunnels sells through its own checkout pages and store app; Thinkific supports memberships, bundles, upsells and payment plans on every self-serve plan. Thinkific's extra gateway fee for direct Stripe or PayPal is the main thing to watch.
Contracts are the gap in both. A coaching agreement signed before the first call protects you and sets expectations, and with either tool you need a separate e-signature product for it. Our coaching contracts page shows how that step works when it is built into the booking flow instead.
What is the client experience like on each?
This is where the clickfunnels vs thinkific question matters most for coaches, because your client lives with the choice every week. On ClickFunnels, a client sees your funnel pages, then a members area for any course you sell. On Thinkific, they see a course player, a community and (if you pay for it) a branded app.
What neither gives your client is a coaching home: one place to see the next session, this week's tasks, the habits they are building, a morning check-in and their progress toward a goal. Both vendors are documented as having no client habits, daily check-ins or per-client plans. In practice, that layer ends up in a spreadsheet, a messaging app or a third tool, and your client juggles separate logins for booking, paying, learning and talking to you.

For a course creator selling to thousands of students, that is acceptable. For a coach whose results depend on what happens between sessions, it is the biggest weakness of both tools.
Which should you pick for which kind of coach?
Match the tool to how you earn. The table below sums up the call for common coaching models.
| Coaching model | Best pick | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Coachful: 1:1, group or hybrid programs with sessions and accountability | Coachful | Booking, contracts, payments, programs with habits and check-ins, courses, community, website and funnels under one login and one client app |
| High-ticket offer sold through webinars or ads | ClickFunnels | Multi-step funnels and email follow-up are its core |
| Self-paced course or certification for hundreds of students | Thinkific | Unlimited courses, quizzes, certificates, exams on Grow |
| Cohort course starting on fixed dates | Thinkific | Live cohorts with Zoom on every self-serve plan |
| New coach with a first offer and no audience yet | Coachful | One subscription for site, booking and payment, plus the free white-glove build to get set up |
| Info-product business with a large list and a sales team | ClickFunnels | Contact limits up to 400K on Dominate, more team seats |
Two more questions settle most cases. First, does a client's result depend on what they do between calls? If yes, you need habits, check-ins and per-client programs, which neither vendor offers. Second, how many tools are you willing to pay for and log into? If the honest answer is "one", the stack cost of ClickFunnels plus Thinkific plus a scheduler adds up quickly.
If you are leaning toward leaving Thinkific, our Thinkific alternatives for coaches ranks seven options, and how to migrate from Thinkific covers moving students without losing them. If you are comparing Thinkific with a different all-in-one, see Kajabi vs Thinkific; for ClickFunnels, see ClickFunnels vs Kajabi.
Is there a third option that covers both?
Yes. Coachful is a coaching platform that includes the funnel side of ClickFunnels and the course side of Thinkific, then adds what both lack: booking, contracts, and programs with habits and check-ins between sessions. Since we make it, here is what it does, who it suits and where it does not fit.

What is Coachful, and who is it for?
One Coachful subscription covers booking, payments, contracts, program delivery with habits and check-ins, courses, a community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant. You get one login, and your clients get one app with your branding. It is built for coaches who deliver programs rather than single sessions, solo coaches growing into a small team, and coaches replacing four to six separate tools. The company is based in Tallinn, Estonia, and has a 4.5 Trustpilot rating from 21 reviews.
How does Coachful compare on funnels?
Coachful includes a section-based website builder with a blog, custom domain, SEO settings and 30 designed homepage templates, plus booking, application, lead-magnet and checkout funnels with pixels and UTM tracking. Email lists, broadcasts and multi-step sequences with triggers, delays, branching and A/B splits are included in your Coachful membership. About 25 funnel templates give you a starting point. Payments support one-time purchases, subscriptions, payment plans, order bumps and coupons through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account, with a 0% Coachful platform fee since August 2026.

Here is a short walkthrough of building a funnel in Coachful:
ClickFunnels still goes further on pure funnel volume and launch tooling, and it is the more established choice for marketers running large ad budgets. For a coach selling into calls and programs, Coachful's funnels cover the common paths. Our coach website builder page shows the site side in more detail.
How does Coachful compare on courses?
Coachful courses have modules, lessons, drip release and completion tracking, and sit next to downloads, videos, books, AI tools, events and bundles in the client's branded home and app. There are 48 course templates with quizzes. Coachful does not offer Thinkific's certificates, exams, question banks, SCORM or B2B course sales, and it is not a course marketplace. If you sell certification courses to thousands of students, Thinkific remains the better tool.

What does Coachful add that neither offers?
- Programs that run between sessions. Multi-week programs with weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals with progress bars and streaks.
- Booking built in. Availability rules, buffers, minimum notice, time-zone detection, two-way Google, Apple/iCloud and Outlook sync, and built-in video or auto-created Zoom, Meet or Teams links. Email reminders, plus SMS and WhatsApp once messaging is enabled. See scheduling software for coaches.
- Contracts before the first call. Coaching agreements with e-signature, stored on the client record.
- A real client record. Goals, check-ins, habits, notes, intake answers, payments, sessions and an AI briefing per client, with a status of thriving, active, quiet or at risk.
- Michelle, the AI assistant. Works from your live practice data to build programs, draft emails, summarize recorded sessions and brief you before calls. Questions and planning are included in the membership; confirmed builds and changes use AI credits.
- ICF hour tracking. Counts coaching hours and distinct clients against ACC, PCC and MCC thresholds and exports a client coaching log. See ICF hour tracking.

How does the cost compare?
Coachful uses flat monthly plans: lower plans cap the number of clients, Pro is unlimited, team plans add coach seats, and monthly plans cancel in one click. Current plans: Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients. Set that against $206 a month for ClickFunnels Launch and Thinkific Start together, before you add a scheduler or contract tool. You can start with a free trial.
When does Coachful beat both, and when does it not?
Coachful is the better choice when you coach people through a change over weeks or months, want one login for booking, payment, contract, program and community, and would rather not stitch three tools together. It also suits coaches moving off Thinkific who want their courses plus the coaching layer; our Thinkific alternative page covers that switch.
Coachful is not the right pick if:
- You run a pure info-product business with large ad-driven launches and no 1:1 delivery. ClickFunnels is built for that.
- You sell certification courses needing exams, SCORM or B2B seat sales. Thinkific (or Thinkific Plus) fits better.
- You need PayPal, HIPAA compliance with a BAA, or insurance billing. Coachful offers none of these.
- You need a sales deal board for a large team or a Salesforce or HubSpot integration.
- You need wearable sync (Garmin, Fitbit, Whoop, Oura) or your own App Store listing; the client app ships under the Coachful listing with your branding.
How do you start?
Start a free trial, then decide whether to build yourself or ask the team to do it. During onboarding, your clients, programs and content are imported for you.
Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. From Create, choose "We'll build it for you · FREE" and describe what you want: a website, funnel, sales page, program, course outline, email sequence, lead quiz, form, link in bio or something else. You can attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files such as logos, photos, brand guides and copy. The Coachful team builds it inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours, and nothing gets invented: no fake credentials, testimonials or prices, and gaps are left for you to fill. It does not include recording videos, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing. A business mentor for beauty professionals, for example, got a 12-week mentorship sales page, a free start-up-guide funnel and rewritten follow-up emails. Read more about the free white-glove service.

What should you check before you sign up for either?
Whichever tool you choose, a few checks in the trial save money later. These come from the vendors' own terms as listed in October 2026.
- Trial terms. ClickFunnels lists a 14-day trial; our older profile notes its help center says the card on file is charged after 14 days. Thinkific lists 30 days on self-serve plans and does not state whether a card is required. Put a reminder in your calendar either way.
- Caps you will hit first. On ClickFunnels Launch, the 3-course and 10,000-contact caps. On Thinkific Start, 2 admins and 1 community.
- Your exit. On both, contacts or students export to CSV, but pages and course content do not move cleanly. Keep your own copies of lesson videos and documents.
- Payment setup. If you want to keep your own Stripe account on Thinkific, ask what gateway fee applies to your plan.
- The coaching layer. List what clients need from you between calls (tasks, habits, check-ins, messages) and confirm where each one will live.

Frequently asked questions
Is ClickFunnels or Thinkific better for coaches?
It depends on what you sell. ClickFunnels is better if your business runs on funnels, webinars and high-ticket launches; Thinkific is better if your main product is a structured course. For 1:1 or group coaching with sessions and accountability between calls, neither covers the job alone, and a coaching platform such as Coachful is the closer fit.
Which is cheaper, ClickFunnels or Thinkific?
On monthly billing, ClickFunnels Launch is $97 and Thinkific Start is $109, as listed in October 2026. On annual billing they are almost identical at $81 and $82 a month. Thinkific raised prices about 10% in August 2026, and its branded app is an extra $199 a month.
Can I use ClickFunnels and Thinkific together?
Yes, and many course creators do: ClickFunnels for the sales funnel, Thinkific for delivery. The downside is paying for two platforms with overlapping features, plus two logins for you and your students.
Does ClickFunnels have courses?
Yes. Every ClickFunnels plan includes a courses app, but Launch caps you at 3 courses and Scale at 6. It lacks Thinkific's depth in quizzes, certificates, exams and cohorts.
Does Thinkific have sales funnels?
Thinkific has a site builder, sales pages, checkout upsells, bundles, coupons and payment plans. It is not a multi-step funnel builder with webinar flows and email sequences on each step, so launch-heavy sellers often add another tool.
Can I book 1:1 coaching sessions in Thinkific?
Thinkific sells coaching and webinar products, but our older profile of the vendor notes it has no built-in 1:1 scheduling, so calls rely on an external booking link. Check the current product before you commit if booking matters to you.
Do ClickFunnels or Thinkific charge transaction fees?
ClickFunnels states 0% commission on sales, with processor fees on top. Thinkific charges no transaction fee with Thinkific Payments but adds a per-plan gateway fee if you connect Stripe or PayPal directly; it does not list those amounts on its pricing page.
What is Coachful's free white-glove service?
It is a free build service on every Coachful plan. You describe what you want built, such as a website, funnel, program or email sequence, attach references and files, and the team builds it inside your account, usually within about 24 hours. It does not cover video recording, logo design, ads or ongoing marketing.
Is Coachful a replacement for both ClickFunnels and Thinkific?
For most coaches, yes: it includes websites, funnels, email, courses and community alongside booking, contracts and programs with habits and check-ins. It is not a replacement for large ad-driven info-product launches or certification courses that need exams and SCORM.
Can I move my clients and courses to Coachful?
Yes. During onboarding, clients, programs and content are imported for you. If you leave later, Coachful exports your full client data as a ZIP and supports course export.
