Delenta vs SimplePractice: Which Fits Coaches in 2026?

Delenta vs SimplePractice: Which Fits Coaches in 2026?

If you are weighing delenta vs simplepractice as a coach, the short answer is that Delenta is coaching software and SimplePractice is clinical practice software for therapists and health practitioners. Delenta wins for most coaches: it is cheaper at entry, built around coaching packages, contracts and client portals, and does not charge you for insurance tooling you will never use. SimplePractice only makes sense if you are also a licensed clinician who needs clinical notes, insurance claims and a HIPAA business associate agreement.

There is a catch with both. Neither one runs the whole client journey from first website visit to habit check-ins between sessions, so most coaches end up adding a website builder, an email tool and something for courses or community. That is why this comparison ends with a third option. We make Coachful, so read that section with that in mind; we have tried to be specific about where it wins and where it does not.

All vendor prices below are as listed in October 2026, in US dollars, before any tax.

What is the short answer by use case?

Pick by the kind of practice you run, not by feature counts. The table below is ranked on four things that matter most to coaches: one login for the whole client journey, between-session delivery, total stack cost, and setup effort.

ToolBest forMain limit for coachesEntry price
CoachfulCoaches who sell programs, courses or group work and want booking, payments, website, email and client app in one placeNot HIPAA-certified; no PayPal; no insurance billingLite: $29/month for up to 5 clients
DelentaSolo coaches who mainly sell 1:1 packages and want CRM, contracts and client portalsClient-portal caps on Starter (10) and Pro (40); courses and mobile app only on Premium$29/month (Starter)
SimplePracticeLicensed therapists and health practitioners who also coachClinical focus; no coaching programs, courses or community$49/month (Starter)

In one line each:

  • You are a life, business, executive or career coach: Delenta over SimplePractice, and look hard at Coachful if you deliver programs.
  • You are a licensed therapist, dietitian or clinician who bills insurance: SimplePractice over Delenta. Neither Delenta (below Teams) nor Coachful is built for clinical records.
  • You are a health or wellness coach without a clinical license: you probably do not need SimplePractice. See our list of SimplePractice alternatives for health coaches.

How do Delenta and SimplePractice compare side by side?

They overlap on scheduling, client records and payments, then split sharply. Delenta adds coaching tools such as e-signed contracts, coaching logs and group packages; SimplePractice adds clinical tools such as insurance claims, CPT codes and e-prescribing.

Trustpilot4.5 from 21 reviews4.1 from 5 reviews2.6 from 1,616 reviews

Trustpilot figures were seen between 25 and 29 October 2026. Delenta's score rests on only five reviews, so treat it as thin evidence. SimplePractice's large review base reflects a much larger customer count, mostly clinicians, so it says little about how coaches fare.

What does each one cost?

Delenta is cheaper at every comparable tier and offers annual billing; SimplePractice is monthly only and adds per-transaction and per-claim fees. Here are the published plans.

The fees on top of the plan

SimplePractice charges 3.15% + $0.30 on each card payment through its payment system, $0.39 per insurance claim, and $20 per clinician per year for access to AMA CPT codes. Optional add-ons are Care Aide at $59/month, Note Taker at $35/month and ePrescribe at $49/month plus an $89 setup fee. A coach would rarely need any of these, but the card fee applies to everyone who takes payments through it.

Thinking of launching your coaching business?

Answer a few questions and Coachful builds it around you: your website, programs, booking and payments. Ready in minutes.

Build your platform

Delenta says it adds no transaction fees of its own; you pay only Stripe's or PayPal's processing fees. Its Teams plan and a setup concierge service are priced on request.

Coachful charges a 0% platform fee on client payments (since August 2026). You pay only Stripe's or Razorpay's processing fees on your own account.

A worked example

Here is an illustrative example, not real customer data. A solo coach has 25 active clients paying $200 a month each, so $5,000 a month moves through the payment system in 25 card payments.

  • Delenta: 25 clients is over Starter's 10-portal cap, so Pro at $49/month (or $39.08 on annual). Delenta adds nothing per payment; Stripe or PayPal fees still apply.
  • SimplePractice: Starter at $49/month, plus 3.15% of $5,000 ($157.50) and 25 x $0.30 ($7.50) in card fees, so about $214 a month before any add-on.
  • Coachful: the plan that covers 25 clients is Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients, with processor fees only on your own Stripe or Razorpay account.

The plan fee is only half the story. With Delenta Pro or SimplePractice, this coach still needs a website, email marketing and probably a course or community tool. That stack often costs more than the core software. Our full breakdown of Delenta pricing covers the Premium decision in more depth.

Trials

SimplePractice offers a 30-day free trial with no card required, plus 50% off for three months if you start a paid plan within the first seven days of the trial. Delenta's pricing page conflicts with itself: the headline says 14-day free trial, while the FAQ says unlimited access for 7 days. Neither requires a card. Coachful has a free trial too.

Which is better for scheduling and sessions?

For coaching sessions, Delenta is the better fit of the two. It includes booking with calendar sync, Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams integration, and group video sessions from the Pro plan, all aimed at coaching packages.

Delenta's homepage in October 2026.

SimplePractice also schedules appointments, but as part of a practice system built for therapists and health practitioners. Group sessions on the Essential plan cost an extra $20 a month. If you run a weekly group accountability call, that is a fee on a feature coaching platforms treat as standard.

Coachful's booking pages include availability rules, buffers, minimum notice and time-zone detection, two-way sync with Google, Apple/iCloud and Outlook, and built-in video or auto-created Zoom, Meet and Teams links. Reminders go by email, plus SMS 24 hours before and WhatsApp one hour before once messaging is turned on. You can sell paid sessions and session credits, ask intake questions at booking, and spread multi-coach session types by round-robin or least-busy assignment.

How do contracts, notes and client records compare?

Delenta handles coaching paperwork; SimplePractice handles clinical documentation. That one difference decides the matter for most readers.

Delenta's Starter plan already includes intake forms, a CRM, session notes, tasks and goals, e-signed contracts and coaching logs. Coaching logs matter if you are working toward an ICF credential, because you need a record of hours and clients. Contacts can be imported by CSV or XLS. We could not verify how complete Delenta's client-data export is.

SimplePractice is designed for clinical notes, insurance claims and e-prescribing, with CPT code access priced separately. Those are real strengths for a therapist and dead weight for a coach. Coaching notes do not need diagnosis codes, and a coaching agreement is a different document from a clinical consent form. SimplePractice's own data export steps sit behind a bot check, so we could not confirm them.

Coachful sends coaching agreements with e-signature before the first call and stores them on the client record. That record holds goals, check-ins, habits, notes, intake answers, tags, payments, sessions and an AI briefing per client, and labels each client thriving, active, quiet or at risk. Coachful also tracks ICF credential progress: it counts coaching hours and distinct clients against ACC, PCC and MCC thresholds and exports an ICF client coaching log with paid and pro bono hours.

See coaching contracts in Coachful and ICF hour tracking for how those work.

Does HIPAA decide it?

Only if you are a HIPAA covered entity, which most coaches are not. If you are a licensed provider who bills health plans electronically, SimplePractice's automatic business associate agreement is a real reason to choose it.

The US Department of Health and Human Services explains who counts as a covered entity: health plans, clearinghouses and providers who send health information electronically in standard transactions such as insurance claims. A life coach paid directly by clients usually falls outside that definition. If you are unsure, check with an attorney who works with health practices.

Delenta lists HIPAA only on its custom-priced Teams plan. Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and does not sign a BAA, so clinical records and insurance billing belong in a clinical system.

A scope line for health and wellness coaches: coaching is not treatment. If a client describes symptoms of a medical or mental health condition, such as disordered eating, suicidal thoughts, or a condition that affects exercise or diet, refer them to a licensed clinician and keep clinical details out of your coaching notes.

What about programs, courses and community?

This is where both tools fall short for a modern coaching business, and where SimplePractice has nothing to offer at all. SimplePractice has no coaching programs, courses or community features.

Delenta has tasks and goals on every plan and group coaching with group packages on Pro. Its course creator, subscriptions and events, onboarding workflows and mobile app all sit on Premium at $79 a month. A coach with 15 clients who wants to sell a small course therefore pays for unlimited portals they do not need. Delenta's AI feature is marked coming soon.

Coachful is built around program delivery. Multi-week programs carry weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals with progress bars and streaks. Courses have modules, lessons, drip and completion tracking, and sit alongside downloads, videos, books, AI tools, events and bundles in the client's branded home. The community includes a feed, group chat, direct messages and video events, and cohort groups are created automatically when someone enrolls in a program.

How do payments and invoicing compare?

Delenta lets you connect Stripe or PayPal and adds no transaction fee of its own. SimplePractice uses its own payment system at 3.15% + $0.30 per card payment, which adds up quickly on monthly coaching retainers.

SimplePractice homepage presenting its practice software for therapists and health practitioners
SimplePractice's homepage in October 2026.

SimplePractice's billing is designed for a clinical practice: insurance claims at $0.39 each and CPT codes. A coach selling a 12-week package or a monthly retainer does not need that machinery.

Coachful runs payments through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account: one-time payments, subscriptions, payment plans, order bumps, coupons, refunds, Apple Pay and Google Pay, and Stripe Tax. Each transaction gets an invoice, and you can send manual invoices too. Coachful does not support PayPal, which matters if many of your clients prefer it; Delenta does.

For more, see coaching payment software.

What is the client experience like?

On Delenta, clients log into a coaching client portal; SimplePractice's client side serves clinical practices. For a coaching client, Delenta's portal sits closer to the relationship you are selling, but on Starter and Pro the number of portals is capped.

Delenta caps client portals at 10 on Starter and 40 on Pro. Custom branding, branded emails, a custom domain and the mobile app all start on Premium, so below Premium your clients do not get your own branding or an app.

SimplePractice's client side is designed for patients of clinical practices. That fits a therapist's client well. A coaching client looking for daily tasks, habit tracking or a cohort to talk to will not find them there.

On Coachful, clients get one branded home and app (your branding inside the Coachful app) where they see their next session, programs, progress, documents, habits, courses and community. Between sessions they get check-ins and habit tracking, and if you configure it, selected clients can chat with an AI version of you between sessions.

The difference shows up in retention. When clients have something to do between calls and you can see who is going quiet, you have a reason to reach out before they cancel. This is not a claim about measured results; it is the reason program features exist.

Which should you pick for which kind of coach?

Match the tool to your license and your offer. Here is how it shakes out across common coaching practices.

Is there a third option that beats both?

For coaches who deliver programs rather than single sessions, yes: Coachful replaces Delenta or SimplePractice plus the website, email, course and community tools you would otherwise add. For licensed clinicians who bill insurance, no: stay with SimplePractice.

What Coachful is

Coachful is a coaching platform. One subscription covers booking, payments, contracts, program delivery with habits and check-ins, courses, a community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant, with one login for the coach and one branded app for the client. It is based in Tallinn, Estonia, and holds a 4.5 Trustpilot rating from 21 reviews.

Who it is for

Coaches who deliver programs, not just sessions; solo coaches growing into a small team; and coaches replacing four to six separate tools. Team plans add coach seats with per-coach availability and staff permissions (see Coachful for teams).

Where it beats both

  • One login for the whole client journey. Website, funnels, booking, checkout, contract, onboarding, program, community and follow-up email live in one account. Delenta covers part of that on Premium; SimplePractice covers the clinical part only.
  • Between-session delivery. Weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins and streaks. Neither rival documents habit tracking or daily check-ins.
  • Marketing built in. A section-based website builder with blog, custom domain, SEO settings and 30 designed homepage templates; booking, application, lead-magnet and checkout funnels with pixels and UTM tracking; email broadcasts and multi-step sequences with branching and A/B splits; a social planner for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Threads and YouTube.
  • Michelle, the AI assistant. Works from your live practice data to build programs, draft emails, summarize recorded sessions and brief you before each session. It can also give optional private feedback on your coaching against ICF Core Competencies 3 to 8. Questions and planning are included in your Coachful membership; confirmed builds and changes use AI credits.
  • Payments without a platform fee. 0% Coachful fee; your own Stripe or Razorpay account.
  • Templates. More than 40 ready-to-film program templates, 48 course templates with quizzes and about 25 funnel templates.
Wellness website template homepage
One of Coachful's designed homepage templates, a wellness layout, on desktop.

Where it does not

  • Not HIPAA-certified and no BAA. Not for clinical records or insurance billing; SimplePractice wins here, and Delenta Teams offers HIPAA.
  • No PayPal. Delenta supports PayPal.
  • No permanent free plan.
  • Client app ships under the Coachful listing with your branding, not under your own App Store account. Delenta Teams offers white label.
  • No wearables sync (Garmin, Fitbit, Whoop, Oura), and Apple Health sync is not publicly available.
  • No Salesforce or HubSpot integration and no multi-stage deal board for large sales teams.
  • Affiliate payouts are recorded manually, not sent by Coachful.

Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. On every plan, you can go to Create, choose "We'll build it for you", and describe what you want: a website, funnel, sales page, program, course outline and written material, email sequence, form, link in bio, lead quiz, webinar or automation. You can attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files such as logos, photos, brand guides and copy. The Coachful team builds it inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours. Nothing gets invented: no fake credentials, testimonials or prices; gaps are left for you to fill. It does not cover recording videos, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing. A recent example: a leadership coach with a Squarespace renewal days away got one clean homepage with a repeated "talk with me" button. Another: a menopause and midlife health coach starting from nothing got a five-page site in sage and cream, with every button leading to a free 20-minute consultation. How hard is it to switch from either tool?

Switching coaching software mostly means moving contacts, active clients, contracts and recurring payments. Plan for a month of overlap rather than a hard cutover.

  1. Export what you can. Delenta documents CSV and XLS contact import, but we could not verify a full client-data export, so ask support before you cancel. SimplePractice's export steps sit behind a bot check; request your data in writing.
  2. Keep clinical records where they belong. If you are a clinician leaving SimplePractice for coaching-only work, clinical records may carry retention duties. Keep them in a compliant system and check with an attorney.
  3. Move recurring payments last. Stripe subscriptions often need clients to re-enter card details in the new system. Tell clients ahead of time.
  4. Re-send contracts. A new e-signed agreement on the new platform keeps your records in one place.
  5. Run old and new side by side for one billing cycle, then cancel.

On Coachful, clients, programs and content are imported for you during onboarding, and you can export everything later as a ZIP: roster, notes, check-ins, goals, habits, sessions and form responses.

Frequently asked questions

Is Delenta or SimplePractice better for life coaches?

Delenta. It is built for coaching, with contracts, coaching logs, client portals and group packages, and it starts at $29/month. SimplePractice is clinical software with insurance and CPT tooling a life coach does not need. If you deliver programs, compare both against Coachful.

Is SimplePractice worth it for a coach who is not a therapist?

Usually not. You pay for clinical notes, insurance claims and e-prescribing options you will not use, plus 3.15% + $0.30 per card payment. It does not include coaching programs, courses or community.

Does Delenta offer HIPAA compliance?

Delenta lists HIPAA on its Teams plan, which is priced per seat on request. Starter, Pro and Premium do not list it. If you need a BAA as a solo clinician, SimplePractice includes one automatically at signup.

Which is cheaper, Delenta or SimplePractice?

Delenta. Its plans are $29, $49 and $79 a month, or $229, $469 and $699 a year. SimplePractice is $49, $79 and $99 a month with no annual option, plus per-payment and per-claim fees.

Can I run group coaching on either?

Delenta includes group coaching and group video sessions from the Pro plan. SimplePractice charges $20/month extra for group sessions on Essential. Coachful includes group calls, webinars, community and automatic cohort groups in your membership.

How many clients can I have on Delenta?

Starter allows 10 client portals, Pro 40 and Premium unlimited. If you are close to 10 or 40 clients, budget for the next tier.

Do Delenta and SimplePractice have free trials?

SimplePractice offers 30 days with no card required. Delenta's page says 14 days in the headline and 7 days in the FAQ, also with no card. Coachful offers a free trial as well.

What is Coachful's free white-glove service?

On every plan, the Coachful team builds what you describe, such as a website, funnel, program, course outline or email sequence, inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours. You share links, files and brand material; they leave gaps rather than inventing testimonials or prices. It does not include video recording, logo design or ad management.

Is Coachful HIPAA compliant?

No. Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and does not sign a BAA. If you keep clinical records or bill insurance, use a clinical system such as SimplePractice for that work.

Can I use Coachful alongside SimplePractice?

Some practitioners who both treat and coach keep clinical clients in a clinical system and run coaching programs, courses and marketing elsewhere. If you do that, keep clinical information out of your coaching platform. More on the clinical side is in our Practice Better vs SimplePractice comparison.
