Kajabi vs GoHighLevel: Which Should a Coach Pick in 2026?

Kajabi vs GoHighLevel: Which Should a Coach Pick in 2026?

In the Kajabi vs GoHighLevel decision, the short version is this: Kajabi is the better pick if your coaching business runs on courses, memberships and a polished storefront, and GoHighLevel is the better pick if it runs on lead generation, SMS follow-up and a sales pipeline, especially if you manage several brands or resell software. Neither was built around what happens between your coaching sessions: habits, daily check-ins and a per-client plan. That gap is why many coaches end up paying for a third tool, and it is the question this guide keeps coming back to.

We make Coachful, a coaching platform, so we have a point of view. Everything below about Kajabi and GoHighLevel comes from their own pricing pages, feature pages and public review profiles as listed in October 2026, not from claims of hands-on testing. Where one of them beats our product, we say so.

What is the short answer on Kajabi vs GoHighLevel?

Pick by the shape of your business, not by the feature count. Both tools list courses, communities, websites, funnels and email, so the real differences are in what each one was designed to do first.

  • You sell courses, memberships or a signature program to many people at once: Kajabi. Its plans are counted in products and contacts, its checkout and storefront are the core of the product, and it has a branded mobile app on its top plan.
  • You run paid ads, need SMS and phone follow-up, and live inside a sales pipeline: GoHighLevel. Its CRM, calendars, workflows and two-way texting are the core, and contacts and users are unlimited on every plan.
  • You run several coaching brands, or you want to resell a platform to other coaches: GoHighLevel. Sub-accounts and its SaaS Mode (Agency Pro plan) are built for that.
  • You want the lowest entry price: GoHighLevel Starter lists at $97 a month against Kajabi Basic at $179, but GoHighLevel meters SMS, email, phone and AI usage on top, and most coaches add at least one paid add-on.
  • You deliver 1:1 or small-group programs and want clients doing the work between calls: neither fits cleanly. This is where a coaching platform such as Coachful is the stronger choice, and we cover it honestly in the third-option section below.

If you already lean toward one of the two, our standalone Kajabi review and GoHighLevel review go deeper on each.

How do Kajabi and GoHighLevel compare side by side?

Kajabi is a knowledge-product platform with marketing attached; GoHighLevel is a marketing CRM with knowledge products attached. The table below puts both next to Coachful so you can see the whole coaching stack in one view.

Ranking criteria, in one line: one login for the whole client journey, between-session delivery (programs, habits, check-ins), total stack cost once add-ons are counted, and setup effort including Coachful's free white-glove build.

Kajabi's homepage in October 2026.

Kajabi's own coaching page pitches "structured coaching programs with defined timelines", session outlines, milestone-based progression, built-in session scheduling and a client dashboard. That is a real step beyond selling a course. What it does not describe is the daily layer: a client ticking off a habit, answering a morning check-in, or a coach seeing who has gone quiet this week. Its plan limits tell you where its center of gravity sits: 5 products and 2,500 contacts on Basic, 50 products and 25,000 contacts on Growth, unlimited products and 100,000 contacts on Pro.

GoHighLevel's homepage promoting its all-in-one marketing CRM for agencies and businesses
GoHighLevel's homepage in October 2026.

GoHighLevel, often shortened to HighLevel or GHL, is organized around sub-accounts. Each sub-account is effectively a separate business with its own CRM, funnels, websites, calendars, email and SMS, invoicing, contracts, courses and communities. Starter gives you 3 sub-accounts; Unlimited and Agency Pro give you as many as you want. That architecture is brilliant for an agency and more than most solo coaches need. If you are weighing GoHighLevel against a pure funnel builder, our ClickFunnels vs GoHighLevel comparison covers that matchup.

Public reviewers see the two quite differently. On Trustpilot in October 2026, GoHighLevel showed 4.9 from 15,250 reviews and Kajabi 3.4 from 2,347 reviews. Ratings reflect who chooses to leave a review as much as product quality, so treat them as a signal, not a verdict.

How much do Kajabi and GoHighLevel cost?

GoHighLevel's sticker price is lower at every comparable tier, but Kajabi bundles more into the plan price while GoHighLevel bills usage and many features separately. Here are the plan prices as listed in October 2026.

ToolEntry planMiddle planTop self-serve planTrial and guarantee

Kajabi's pricing page in October 2026.

Kajabi's annual prices work out to $1,716 a year on Basic, $2,388 on Growth and $4,788 on Pro. Kajabi also lists extra contacts at $125 a month per 25,000 and an AI credit top-up of $15 for 500 credits (marked as coming). The Basic plan's 0 AI credits and 5-product cap are the limits most likely to matter to a coach; our Kajabi pricing breakdown walks through each tier.

GoHighLevel pricing page with Starter, Unlimited and Agency Pro plans
GoHighLevel's pricing page in October 2026.

GoHighLevel's page shows yearly totals only; divided by 12, that is about $80.83, $247.50 and $414.17 a month. The plan price is the floor, not the bill. SMS, email, phone numbers and AI are metered and billed separately, and the per-unit rates sit on separate pricing guides rather than on the pricing page. Our GoHighLevel pricing guide explains how those usage charges add up.

What do you pay on top of the plan?

This is where the two tools differ most. Kajabi charges more when you use outside payment processors; GoHighLevel charges more when you switch on features.

ToolFee on your salesUsage billed separatelyCommon paid add-ons
Coachful0% platform fee; only Stripe or Razorpay processingQuestions and planning with Michelle are included; confirmed AI builds use AI creditsBranded client app, courses, community, website, funnels and email are included in your Coachful membership
KajabiKajabi Payments (US): 2.9% + $0.30 Basic, 2.8% + $0.30 Growth, 2.7% + $0.30 Pro. Other providers except PayPal: extra Kajabi fee of 2%, 1% or 0.5% by planContacts above the plan cap; AI credits beyond the plan allowanceExtra contacts $125/mo per 25,000; AI credit top-up $15 per 500
GoHighLevelNo HighLevel platform fee on sales shown; payment provider fees onlySMS, email, phone numbers and AI usageBranded Client Portal App $49/mo, AI Employee $50 or $97/mo, WhatsApp $10/mo, SEO $79/mo (each per sub-account); HIPAA $297/mo; white-label mobile app $497/mo; premium support $500/mo

An illustrative example, not a quote: a solo coach who sells about $6,000 a month through their own Stripe account on Kajabi Basic pays Stripe's processing plus Kajabi's extra 2%, which is $120 a month in Kajabi fees on top of the $179 plan. Moving to Kajabi Payments or Growth reduces that. The same coach on GoHighLevel Starter who wants a branded client app and WhatsApp starts at $97 + $49 + $10 = $156 a month before any SMS, email or AI usage.

For a coach with around 15 active clients, the Coachful comparison point is Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients, with the client app, programs, habits, check-ins, booking, courses, community, website and email included in that one membership.

Which is better for courses and digital products?

Kajabi is better for courses, and it is not especially close. Course sales are the reason Kajabi exists, and its plans, checkout, upsells, bundles and membership tiers all reflect that.

Kajabi's product menu covers courses, communities, newsletters, coaching, digital downloads, memberships and podcasts, with upsells, tiered packages, subscriptions and built-in checkout pages. If your revenue plan is "launch a course to my list twice a year and run a paid community in between", Kajabi has the more mature toolset. It also accepts PayPal alongside Kajabi Payments.

GoHighLevel includes courses and communities on every plan, and for many coaches they are good enough. The difference is emphasis: GoHighLevel's course area is one module inside a large marketing CRM, and its plans and add-ons are organized around the pipeline and automation tools rather than the product catalogue. If you mainly sell courses, you would be paying for, and learning, a lot of marketing machinery you may not use.

If you want to compare Kajabi against other course-first tools, see Kajabi vs Teachable and Kajabi vs Thinkific.

Coachful's course builder with a demo Goal Setting Masterclass for Entrepreneurs: four modules, eight lessons and lesson format options.

For balance: Coachful also builds courses with modules, lessons, drip and completion tracking, and includes 48 course templates with quizzes. It is not a course marketplace, and if courses are your whole business, Kajabi's storefront depth is a fair reason to choose it. Where Coachful differs is that the course sits inside the same client home as the program, habits and sessions, so a course becomes one part of a coaching engagement rather than a separate product. See course hosting for coaches for how that works.

Which is better for funnels, email and SMS marketing?

GoHighLevel is better for high-volume, multi-channel marketing; Kajabi is simpler and good enough for email-led launches. If SMS and phone follow-up matter to you, GoHighLevel wins outright.

GoHighLevel's whole design is a lead pipeline: forms and funnels capture a contact, workflows send emails and texts, calendars book the call, and opportunities move across a sales board. Contacts are unlimited on every plan, which matters if you run ads and collect thousands of leads. The cost is complexity: sub-accounts, pipelines and the workflow builder take time to learn if you are not a marketer. The metered usage also means a big SMS campaign shows up on the bill.

Kajabi includes unlimited funnels, landing pages and marketing emails on every plan, with automations that react when someone books, pays or reaches a milestone. It is gentler to learn and tuned for launches: lead magnet, email sequence, sales page, checkout. The ceiling is contacts (2,500 on Basic), so a growing email list can push you up a plan. We compare Kajabi's marketing tools against ours in Coachful vs Kajabi for funnels and email.

Coachful funnels page listing a webinar funnel, a lead magnet funnel and a program launch funnel
Coachful's Funnels page with three demo funnels: a free webinar funnel, a lead magnet funnel and a program launch funnel.

Coachful sits between the two: booking, application, lead-magnet and checkout funnels with pixels and UTM tracking, about 25 funnel templates, and email lists, broadcasts and multi-step sequences with triggers, delays, branching and A/B splits. SMS reminders (24 hours before) and WhatsApp reminders (1 hour before) are available for sessions once messaging is enabled. It is not a replacement for GoHighLevel's SMS campaigns or its multi-stage deal board for large sales teams, and it has no Salesforce or HubSpot integration.

Which handles booking, CRM and client management better?

GoHighLevel has the stronger CRM for prospects; Kajabi has a lighter, product-centred contact list. Neither offers a client record designed around coaching progress.

GoHighLevel's CRM tracks contacts, conversations, opportunities and pipelines, with calendars that create Zoom and Google Meet links. It has invoicing and contracts built in. It is excellent at answering "where is this lead in my sales process?" and much weaker at "how is this client doing in week five of my program?", because there is no habit tracking, check-in or coaching program engine. You can approximate one with forms and workflows, but you build and maintain it yourself.

Kajabi's coaching product adds built-in session scheduling, automated confirmations and reminders, a client dashboard and product access controls. Its contact CRM is organized around who bought what. For a coach running group programs it works well; for 1:1 coaching it gives you a booking calendar and a place to drop resources, but not daily progress data.

On Coachful, booking pages carry availability rules, buffers, minimum notice and time-zone detection, with two-way Google, Apple and Outlook calendar sync, built-in video or auto-created Zoom, Meet or Teams links, paid sessions and session credits, and intake questions on booking. Coaching agreements with e-signature go out before the first call and are stored on the client record (see coaching contracts). Each client record holds goals, check-ins, habits, notes, intake answers, payments and sessions, and shows a status of thriving, active, quiet or at risk. Our scheduling and coaching CRM pages go into more detail.

How do AI, automations and teams compare?

GoHighLevel offers the most automation depth and unlimited users; Kajabi caps admin seats by plan and rations AI credits. Both charge more for serious AI use.

  • AI: Kajabi lists 0 AI credits on Basic, 500 on Growth and 1,000 on Pro, plus its Cofounder AI and agent features. GoHighLevel sells AI Employee as an add-on at $50 a month (Growth) or $97 a month (Unlimited) per sub-account, with AI usage metered.
  • Automations: GoHighLevel's workflow builder is the most powerful of the three and the hardest to learn. Kajabi's automations are simpler and tied to products, bookings and milestones.
  • Team: GoHighLevel includes unlimited users on every plan. Kajabi allows 2 admin users on Basic, 11 on Growth and 26 on Pro.
  • Health data: GoHighLevel's HIPAA support is a $297 a month add-on (included on Enterprise). HIPAA does not appear among Kajabi's listed plans or add-ons, so confirm with Kajabi before storing health information there.

On the health point: coaching is not treatment. If you are a health or wellness coach, keep your work within coaching scope and refer clients to a licensed clinician when their needs are medical or psychological. If you are a covered entity handling protected health information, the US Department of Health and Human Services HIPAA guidance sets the rules, and you should check your obligations with an attorney. Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and does not sign a BAA, so it is not the right home for clinical record-keeping or insurance billing.

Coachful's built-in AI assistant, Michelle, works from your live practice data: it builds programs, drafts emails and content, summarizes recorded sessions and briefs you before each session. Questions and planning are included in the membership; confirmed builds and changes use AI credits. There is also an AI Coach, an AI version of you that selected clients can chat with between sessions, configured by you. Team plans (Studio and Agency) add coach seats with per-coach availability and staff permissions, and round-robin or least-busy assignment for shared session types. More on the AI coaching assistant page.

Coachful builds your coaching website from a few answers, in a design chosen for your niche, with programs, booking and payments ready behind it.

Build your platform

What does the client experience look like on each?

Kajabi gives clients a cleaner, product-like experience; GoHighLevel gives them a portal that is capable but feels like the back office of a marketing system unless you pay to brand it. Neither puts a daily coaching routine at the center.

A Kajabi client logs in to a dashboard with their courses, community and coaching program, books sessions and receives reminders. Kajabi lists a branded mobile app, and its October 2026 comparison table shows it on the Pro plan. For a course buyer this is a good experience. For a 1:1 client, what is missing is the reason to open the app on a Tuesday when there is no call: a habit to tick, a check-in to answer, a task for today.

A GoHighLevel client typically meets you through a funnel page, a booking calendar, a text message and an invoice link, then logs in to a course or community area if you set one up. The Branded Client Portal App costs $49 a month per sub-account and a fully white-labelled mobile app costs $497 a month. Everything between sessions depends on the workflows you build.

On Coachful, the client opens one branded home (on the web or in the Coachful app with your branding) and sees their next session, this week's program tasks, habits, goals with progress bars, a morning or evening check-in, their courses and the community. You see the same activity on their client record. That between-session loop is what we built Coachful for.

How hard is setup, and what happens if you leave?

Kajabi has fewer moving parts to set up; GoHighLevel has more, though agencies can reuse setups as snapshots. Leaving is harder on GoHighLevel, where funnels and workflows only travel as snapshots inside HighLevel.

Kajabi offers a 14-day trial (card optional; if you enter one, Kajabi places an authorization hold and charges when the trial ends). Some features, including bulk contact import, test emails and some automations, stay locked until you activate a paid plan, so a full trial run of your launch may not be possible. On the way out, Kajabi exports contacts, subscriptions, sales and members as CSV files, course content is downloaded asset by asset, and older documentation says data is removed 90 days after cancellation. If you are planning a move, our guide to moving a coaching website off Kajabi covers the steps.

GoHighLevel offers 14 days on any plan, with billing starting automatically at the end unless you cancel, and usage-based telecom fees can apply during the trial. Contacts (with custom fields), opportunities and conversations export to CSV. Funnels, sites and workflows are portable only as snapshots inside HighLevel, and data becomes inaccessible after cancellation, so export before you cancel.

Coachful exports your full client data as a ZIP (roster, notes, check-ins, goals, habits, sessions and form responses), plus a course export. Coming in, clients, programs and content are imported for you during onboarding, and the white-glove build service described below can build your site, funnel or program for you.

Which should you pick for which kind of coach?

Match the tool to how your clients get results. The table lists each option with the coach it suits and the sign it is the wrong fit.

GoHighLevelAgency owners, multi-brand coaches and ad-driven businesses that live on SMS, calls and a sales pipelineYou want something simple, or you need habits, check-ins and per-client plans without building them yourself

A few common profiles:

  • New life coach with a handful of clients: Kajabi Basic and GoHighLevel Starter are both more tool than you need. A coaching platform with booking, contracts and a client home will get you to your first paid client faster. See Coachful for new coaches.
  • Business coach running a group mastermind plus a course: Kajabi if the course is the main product; Coachful if the mastermind is, since cohort groups are created automatically on program enrollment. See business coaches and group coaching software.
  • Fitness or nutrition coach: neither Kajabi nor GoHighLevel has workout logging or nutrition targets. Coachful's Fitness & Nutrition pack adds a workout builder with an illustrated exercise library, client workout logging with PRs, nutrition targets, meal plans and form-check video.
  • Coach running a small agency or several brands: GoHighLevel. Sub-accounts and SaaS Mode are hard to match.
  • ICF-credentialed coach working toward PCC or MCC: neither tool tracks coaching hours. Coachful's ICF hour tracking counts hours and distinct clients against ACC, PCC and MCC thresholds and exports a client coaching log.

Is there a third option that beats both for coaches?

For coaches whose results come from what clients do between sessions, yes: Coachful. It replaces most of what Kajabi and GoHighLevel do for a coach and adds the program, habit and check-in layer neither of them has. It does not beat Kajabi for pure course businesses or GoHighLevel for agencies, and we spell out where below.

Coachful's client program view on a laptop and its check-in flows library on a tablet
Coachful's client Programs view on a laptop and the coaching flows library with morning and evening check-ins on a tablet.

What Coachful is. One subscription covers booking, payments, contracts, program delivery with habits and check-ins, courses, a community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant, with one login for you and one branded app for your client. It is built for coaches who deliver programs, not just sessions; solo coaches growing into a small team; and coaches replacing four to six tools. The company is based in Tallinn, Estonia, and showed 4.5 on Trustpilot from 21 reviews in October 2026.

Where it beats both.

  • Between-session delivery: multi-week programs with weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals with progress bars and streaks. More than 40 ready-to-film program templates.
  • One client record: goals, check-ins, habits, notes, intake answers, tags, payments and sessions in one place, with an AI briefing per client and a thriving, active, quiet or at-risk status.
  • Payments without a platform cut: your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account, one-time payments, subscriptions, payment plans, order bumps, coupons, Apple Pay and Google Pay, and Stripe Tax, with a 0% Coachful platform fee since August 2026.
  • Branded client experience included: no separate app add-on.
  • Setup effort: the white-glove build service described below.

Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. On every plan, you can open Create, choose "We'll build it for you", and describe what you want: a website, a funnel, a sales page, a program, a course outline and written material, an email sequence, a lead quiz, an automation and more. You can attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files such as logos, photos, brand guides and copy. The Coachful team builds it inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours, and invents nothing: no fake credentials, testimonials or prices, and gaps are left for you to fill. One recent request came from a somatic coach leaving Kajabi, who had their homepage and About page rebuilt and the contact form connected. Another came from a real-estate and money coach, who got a year-long cohort program with an application form, an eight-page site and a free nine-day bootcamp funnel. The service does not cover recording videos, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing. Read more in how the free white-glove service works.

What Coachful does not do. It is not HIPAA-certified and has no BAA. It has no PayPal and no permanent free plan. The client app ships under the Coachful listing with your branding, not under your own App Store account. There is no Garmin, Fitbit, Whoop or Oura sync and no stock exercise videos (you attach your own demo videos). It has no multi-stage sales deal board for large teams, no Salesforce or HubSpot integration, no routing forms that pick a host from answers, and no third-party plugins. It is not a course marketplace or a general website builder for non-coaching sites. Its affiliate program tracks links, clicks, conversions and revenue, but payouts are recorded manually rather than sent by Coachful.

Pick Kajabi over Coachful if your business is mainly courses and memberships sold to a large audience, you need PayPal, or you want your own branded app in the App Store.

Pick GoHighLevel over Coachful if you run an agency or several brands, rely on SMS and phone campaigns, need a multi-stage sales pipeline for a sales team, or need HIPAA support through its add-on.

How to start. Start a free trial, then use the white-glove build service to have your site, funnel or first program built for you while you set up booking and payments. Current plans: Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients. Frequently asked questions

Is Kajabi or GoHighLevel cheaper for a coach?

GoHighLevel has the lower plan price: Starter is $97 a month against Kajabi Basic at $179 a month, as listed in October 2026. GoHighLevel then meters SMS, email, phone and AI usage and sells features such as its branded client app as add-ons, while Kajabi adds an extra 0.5% to 2% fee if you use a payment provider other than Kajabi Payments or PayPal. Compare your real usage, not just the plan price.

Can GoHighLevel replace Kajabi for selling courses?

It can host courses and communities on every plan, so a coach with a simple course can run it there. Kajabi's checkout, product catalogue and student experience are more developed, which matters if courses are your main income. Coaches selling several courses to a large audience usually stay with Kajabi.

Does Kajabi or GoHighLevel track client habits and check-ins?

Neither lists habit tracking or daily client check-ins. Kajabi's coaching product offers structured programs with milestones and resources, and on GoHighLevel you would approximate check-ins with forms and workflows. Coachful includes habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals and streaks in every client's program.

Which has a better mobile app for clients?

Kajabi lists a branded mobile app, shown on its Pro plan in the October 2026 comparison table. GoHighLevel sells a Branded Client Portal App at $49 a month per sub-account and a white-label mobile app at $497 a month. Coachful's client app is included in your Coachful membership and shows your branding inside the Coachful app.

Is GoHighLevel too complicated for a solo coach?

It is a lot of software for one person, because it is built around agencies, sub-accounts and marketing workflows. If you will use SMS campaigns, a sales pipeline and heavy automation, the learning curve pays off. If you mainly need booking, payments and client delivery, a coaching platform is quicker to run.

Do Kajabi and GoHighLevel offer free trials?

Both list 14-day trials in October 2026. Kajabi's card is optional and some features stay locked until you activate a paid plan; it also offers a 30-day money-back guarantee. GoHighLevel's billing starts automatically at the end of the trial unless you cancel, and usage fees can apply during it.

Which is better for HIPAA-sensitive coaching?

GoHighLevel offers HIPAA support as a $297 a month add-on, included on Enterprise; HIPAA does not appear among Kajabi's listed plans or add-ons. Coachful is not HIPAA-certified. Remember that coaching is not treatment, and check your obligations with an attorney if you handle protected health information.

What is Coachful's free white-glove service?

On every plan you can ask the Coachful team to build a website, funnel, sales page, program, course outline, email sequence or similar inside your account, usually within about 24 hours. You describe what you want and attach up to 8 links and 10 files. It does not include recording videos, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing.

Can I move from Kajabi or GoHighLevel to Coachful?

Yes. Export your contacts and sales data as CSV before cancelling, because GoHighLevel data becomes inaccessible after cancellation and Kajabi's older documentation says data is removed 90 days after it. Coachful imports clients, programs and content for you during onboarding, and the white-glove service can rebuild your site or funnel.
