Podia vs Systeme io (2026): Which Fits a Coaching Business?

Podia vs Systeme io comes down to what you sell. If your coaching business is mostly courses, downloads and a community sold from a clean storefront, Podia is the simpler, tidier choice. If you want the cheapest way to run funnels, email marketing and courses, including a free plan that never expires, Systeme.io wins on price and marketing depth. Neither tool was built to run 1:1 or group coaching between sessions: no client habits, no daily check-ins, no per-client plans. That gap is why this comparison ends with a third option.
We make Coachful, a coaching platform, so we have a stake in this. We have kept the Podia and Systeme.io sections to what each vendor documents on its own pricing page (as listed in October 2026) and what public reviewers report, and we say plainly where each of them beats us.

What is the short answer, by use case?
Pick by the shape of your offer, not by the feature list. Most coaches who compare these two tools fall into one of five situations.
- You sell one or two courses and a few downloads, and you want a storefront that looks good with little effort: Podia. Its products, website and checkout live in one simple dashboard.
- You are building an audience on a tight budget and want funnels plus email automation: Systeme.io. The free plan includes 2,000 contacts, 3 funnels, 1 course and unlimited emails, with no card required.
- Your email list is already in the thousands: Systeme.io. Podia's plans include only 100, 500 or 1,000 email subscribers, and extra subscribers cost more.
- You run a paid community alongside courses: Podia, slightly. It lists community spaces on every plan (25, 100 or unlimited). Systeme.io includes a community too, but our September 2026 profile rates it as basic.
- You coach clients 1:1 or in programs and need booking, contracts, check-ins and habits: neither. Look at a coaching platform such as Coachful, which we cover in the third-option section below.
If you only want a deeper look at one of the two, read our Podia review or our Systeme io review.
How do Podia and Systeme.io compare side by side?
Podia is a storefront for knowledge products; Systeme.io is a low-cost marketing suite. The table puts Coachful in the first row because it is the option we recommend for coaches who deliver programs, and the other two rows show where each tool sits.
Criteria: one login for the whole client journey, between-session delivery, total stack cost, and setup effort (including Coachful's free white-glove build).
| Platform | Best for | Entry price | Platform transaction fee | Email list included | 1:1 booking | Habits and check-ins | Free plan |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | Coaches who deliver programs, sessions and courses to clients | Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients | 0% platform fee; Stripe or Razorpay processing only | Email lists, broadcasts and sequences included in your membership | Yes, with two-way calendar sync and built-in video | Yes, morning and evening check-ins, habits and streaks | No; a free trial |
| Podia | Selling courses, downloads, webinars and a community from one storefront | $49/month (Mover), $42/month billed annually | 5% on Mover; 0% on Shaker and Earthquaker | 100, 500 or 1,000 subscribers by plan | Coaching is a product type; no native video calls (September 2026 profile) | No | No; 14-day trial, no card |
| Systeme.io | Funnels, email marketing and courses on a small budget | $0 (Free), then $17/month (Startup) | 0% on all plans | 2,000 contacts free; up to unlimited on Unlimited | No native 1:1 scheduling tied to client records (September 2026 profile) | No | Yes, never expires |
Prices for Podia and Systeme.io are as listed in October 2026. Payment processing (Stripe or PayPal) is charged on top for all three tools.
What does Podia do well for coaches?
Podia's strength is simplicity: one place to build a small website, list products and take payment. Its pricing page lists courses, downloads, coaching, webinars, community, a website and email on its entry Mover plan, with unlimited customers on every plan.

For a coach whose business is a signature course, a couple of workbooks and a members' community, this bundle covers most of what you need to sell. Products sit on a storefront page, and buyers get access to what they paid for. Plan limits are generous for that model: Mover allows 50 products, 500 videos and 25 community spaces, Shaker raises that to 150 products, 1,000 videos and 100 spaces, and Earthquaker removes the product, video and space caps.
Where Podia is thinner, by its own documentation and our September 2026 profile:
- Email is small. Plans include 100 (Mover), 500 (Shaker) or 1,000 (Earthquaker) email subscribers. Podia sells extra subscribers but does not print that price on its pricing page, and says it never upgrades you automatically.
- The entry plan takes a cut. Mover charges a 5% Podia transaction fee on top of processing.
- Growth tools sit higher up. Affiliate marketing, upsells, PayPal and Zapier start on Shaker.
- Client delivery stops at access. There are no client habits, check-ins or per-client plans, no mobile app and no native video calls (September 2026 profile).
Public reviewers rate Podia 4.1 out of 5 on Trustpilot from 153 reviews (seen October 25, 2026). For a wider view of how Podia stacks up against course tools, see Podia vs Teachable and Kajabi vs Podia.
Pick Podia over Coachful if you mainly sell self-paced products to buyers you will rarely coach directly, you want PayPal at checkout, and your email list is small enough to fit inside Podia's allowances.
What does Systeme.io do well for coaches?
Systeme.io's strength is cost: it packs funnels, email, courses, a community, a blog and an affiliate program into plans that start at zero. Its free plan never expires and needs no credit card, and it charges 0% transaction fees on every plan, including Free.

For a new coach testing a lead magnet and a low-ticket course, that is a lot of software for nothing. The free plan includes 2,000 contacts, 3 funnels, 1 course with up to 500 students, 1 blog, 1 affiliate program, 1 custom domain, 1 automation rule, 1 email campaign and unlimited emails. Paid plans mostly raise the limits: Startup at $17/month allows 5,000 contacts, 10 funnels and 5 courses; Webinar at $47/month allows 10,000 contacts, 50 funnels and 20 courses and adds evergreen webinars; Unlimited at $97/month removes the caps on contacts, funnels, courses and automation rules.
Where Systeme.io is thinner, by its documentation and our September 2026 profile:
- It is a marketing tool first. There is no native 1:1 scheduling tied to client records, and no habits or check-ins.
- Community and course features are basic, and there is no branded mobile app.
- Funnel caps are tighter than they were. Startup now lists 10 funnels; our older profile recorded unlimited.
- Leaving is harder. Contacts export to CSV, but courses and pages are not bulk-exportable.
Public reviewers rate Systeme.io 4.9 out of 5 on Trustpilot from 8,696 reviews (seen October 25, 2026), a far larger sample than Podia's. If you are weighing it against bigger marketing suites, our Systeme io vs Kajabi and GoHighLevel vs Systeme.io comparisons go deeper.
Pick Systeme.io over Coachful if you are not yet coaching paying clients, you want to pay nothing at all while you build an audience, or your business is mainly funnels and email to a large list with little 1:1 delivery.
How does Podia vs Systeme io pricing compare?
Systeme.io is cheaper at every tier, and much cheaper once your list grows. Podia's lowest plan costs $49/month and still charges 5% on sales; Systeme.io's paid plans start at $17/month with no transaction fee.
| Platform and plan | Monthly billing | Annual billing | Main limits | Platform fee |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients | Flat monthly plans; monthly plans cancel in one click | Lower plans cap clients; Pro is unlimited; team plans add coach seats | 0% |
| Podia Mover | $49/month | $42/month ($504/year) | 50 products, 500 videos, 25 spaces, 100 email subscribers | 5% |
| Podia Shaker | $99/month | $84/month ($1,008/year) | 150 products, 1,000 videos, 100 spaces, 500 email subscribers, 1 assistant | 0% |
| Podia Earthquaker | $179/month | $150/month ($1,800/year) | Unlimited products, videos, spaces and assistants; 1,000 email subscribers | 0% |
| Systeme.io Free | $0 | $0 | 2,000 contacts, 3 funnels, 1 course, 500 students, 1 automation rule | 0% |
| Systeme.io Startup | $17/month | "2 months free" (yearly total not printed) | 5,000 contacts, 10 funnels, 5 courses | 0% |
| Systeme.io Webinar | $47/month | "2 months free" (yearly total not printed) | 10,000 contacts, 50 funnels, 20 courses, evergreen webinars | 0% |
| Systeme.io Unlimited | $97/month | "2 months free" (yearly total not printed) | Unlimited contacts, funnels, courses and automation rules | 0% |
Systeme.io's page shows "$" without naming the currency, and it no longer prints yearly totals; our September 2026 profile recorded $170, $470 and $970 per year. Podia shows annual prices in its visible block and lists unlimited customers on all plans.

When does Podia's 5% fee cost more than upgrading?
On Mover, the 5% fee equals the $50 gap between Mover and Shaker once you sell about $1,000 a month. As an illustrative example: a coach who sells $3,000 a month through Podia Mover pays $150 in Podia fees plus the $49 plan, about $199 before processing. On Shaker the same month costs $99 before processing. Above roughly $1,000 a month in sales, Shaker is the cheaper Podia plan.
What does email growth do to each bill?
This is where the two tools part ways. Systeme.io's contact limits are 2,000 (Free), 5,000, 10,000 and unlimited. Podia's included email subscribers are 100, 500 and 1,000, and it sells extra subscribers at a price it does not print. A coach with a 3,000-person list fits on Systeme.io's $17 Startup plan; on Podia, that list exceeds even the $179 Earthquaker allowance. For more detail, see our Podia pricing and Systeme io pricing breakdowns.
What about processing fees?
Both tools pass card processing through to you. Podia lists Stripe and PayPal processing at a standard 2.9% + 30¢; PayPal is available from Shaker up. Systeme.io works with Stripe and PayPal on every plan, including Free. Check Stripe's and PayPal's own rates for your country before you set prices.
How do the features compare, one by one?
Systeme.io leads on marketing automation and price; Podia leads on storefront polish and community spaces; neither covers coaching delivery. Here is how the core features line up.
| Feature | Coachful | Podia | Systeme.io |
|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful (summary) | Booking, payments, contracts, programs, courses, community, website, funnels, email and an AI assistant under one login | Storefront for courses, downloads, coaching, webinars and community | Funnels, email, courses, community, blog and affiliates |
| Courses | Modules, lessons, drip, completion tracking; 48 course templates with quizzes | Yes; 50 to unlimited products by plan | Yes; 1, 5, 20 or unlimited courses by plan |

| Email marketing | Lists, broadcasts and multi-step sequences with triggers, delays, branching and A/B splits | Included, with 100 to 1,000 subscribers | Unlimited emails; 2,000 contacts on Free |
| 1:1 booking | Availability rules, buffers, two-way Google, Apple and Outlook sync, built-in video or Zoom, Meet, Teams links | Coaching sold as a product; no native video calls (September 2026 profile) | No native 1:1 scheduling tied to client records (September 2026 profile) |

| Habits and check-ins | Yes, with streaks and goals with progress bars | No | No |
| Community | Feed, group chat, DMs, video events, cohort groups created on enrollment | 25, 100 or unlimited spaces | Included; described as basic |
| Website | Section-based builder, blog, custom domain, 30 homepage templates | Included | Pages, funnels and 1 blog on Free |
| Affiliates | Partial: tracks links, clicks, conversions and revenue; payouts recorded manually | From Shaker | 1 program on Free |
| Payments | Stripe Connect or Razorpay; no PayPal | Stripe; PayPal from Shaker | Stripe and PayPal |
| Client app | Coach's branding inside the Coachful app | No mobile app (September 2026 profile) | No branded mobile app (September 2026 profile) |
Courses
Both tools host courses well enough for a coach. Podia caps products and videos by plan; Systeme.io caps the number of courses (1 on Free, 5 on Startup, 20 on Webinar) and students (500 on Free). If courses are your main product and you expect a long catalogue, Podia's Earthquaker or Systeme.io's Unlimited removes the caps. Our guide to an online course platform for coaches covers what to look for beyond hosting.

Funnels and email
Systeme.io is clearly ahead here. It is built around funnels and email automation, and its free plan already sends unlimited emails. Podia's email is a convenience for announcing products to a small list, not a marketing engine. A coach who plans to run webinars, lead magnets and nurture sequences will hit Podia's subscriber allowance quickly. If funnels matter most, also read Systeme io vs ClickFunnels.

Booking and sessions
This is the weak spot for both. Podia lets you sell coaching as a product, but our September 2026 profile notes no native video calls. Systeme.io has no native 1:1 scheduling tied to client records. In practice, coaches on either tool usually add a separate scheduling app and a video tool, which adds cost and a second login. Our coaching scheduling software page explains what a coaching-specific calendar should handle.
Community
Podia lists community spaces on every plan and grows them by tier. Systeme.io includes a community, which our September 2026 profile rates as basic. For a group program where the community is the product, compare both against our group coaching software criteria, or read Circle vs Podia.
Data export
Podia exports contacts to CSV, customers per product (active enrollments only) and sales and invoices. Systeme.io exports contacts to CSV through an emailed link valid for 3 days, but courses and pages are not bulk-exportable (September 2026 profile). If you might move later, Podia is a little easier to leave.
What is the client experience like on each?
On both tools a client is a buyer: they pay, get access to a course or community, and log in to consume it. Neither gives the coach a view of how each client is doing between sessions.
With Podia, a client buys from your storefront and opens their purchased products. With Systeme.io, a client usually arrives through a funnel, joins your email list and gets access to a course or community. That works well for self-paced products. It works less well for coaching, where the value sits in what happens between calls: the client tries something, reports back, and you adjust. Neither tool tracks habits, collects daily check-ins or keeps a per-client record of goals and notes, and neither offers a branded mobile app according to our September 2026 profiles.
That matters most for coaches who sell outcomes rather than content. If your offer is a 12-week program where clients act on weekly goals, you will end up stitching together a course tool, a calendar, a form tool and a messaging app. Every extra login is a place where a client drifts.
Which should you pick for which kind of coach?
Match the tool to how you earn. Here is a practical split.
- New coach, no clients yet, building a list: Systeme.io Free. Spend nothing until you have proof people want your offer.
- Course creator who also coaches occasionally: Podia Shaker if you sell more than about $1,000 a month, Mover if you sell less.
- Coach running webinars and email nurture to a large list: Systeme.io Webinar or Unlimited.
- Community-led coach with a small list: Podia, for its community spaces and tidy storefront.
- Coach selling 1:1 packages or group programs with accountability between sessions: a coaching platform. That is where Coachful fits, and it is our recommendation for this group.
- Coach growing into a small team: Coachful's Studio or Agency plans add coach seats with per-coach availability; see Coachful for teams.
Is there a third option that beats both?
Yes, for coaches who deliver programs and sessions rather than only content: Coachful. It is built as a coaching platform, so it covers what Podia and Systeme.io sell (courses, community, website, funnels, email) and adds what they leave out (booking, contracts, check-ins, habits and a client record). It is not the better pick for everyone, and we cover where it falls short below.

What Coachful is and who it is for
Coachful is a coaching platform. One subscription covers booking, payments, contracts, program delivery with habits and check-ins, courses, a community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant, with one login for the coach and one branded app for the client. It is built for coaches who deliver programs, not just sessions; solo coaches growing into a small team; and coaches replacing 4 to 6 tools. The company is based in Tallinn, Estonia, and public reviewers rate it 4.5 on Trustpilot from 21 reviews. You can see the full picture on our coaching software page.
Here is a short walkthrough of how programs work inside Coachful:
Where Coachful beats Podia and Systeme.io
- Between-session delivery. Multi-week programs with weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals with progress bars and streaks.
- Booking that belongs to the client record. Booking pages with availability rules, buffers, minimum notice and time-zone detection; two-way Google, Apple/iCloud and Outlook sync; built-in video or auto-created Zoom, Meet and Teams links; email reminders plus SMS and WhatsApp once messaging is enabled; paid sessions and session credits.
- Contracts before the first call. Coaching agreements with e-signature, stored on the client record. See coaching contracts.
- One view of each client. Goals, check-ins, habits, notes, intake answers, tags, payments and sessions, with a status of thriving, active, quiet or at risk, and an AI briefing per client.
- No platform cut. Payments run through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account, with a 0% Coachful platform fee since August 2026, covering one-time payments, subscriptions, payment plans, order bumps and coupons.
- Marketing without a second tool. Booking, application, lead-magnet and checkout funnels; email lists, broadcasts and multi-step sequences with branching and A/B splits; a section-based website builder with a blog and custom domain.
- A branded client app. Clients get your branding inside the Coachful app, with their programs, sessions, courses and community in one place.

Coachful also includes Michelle, a built-in AI assistant that works from your live practice data: it builds programs, drafts emails, summarizes recorded sessions and briefs you before calls. Questions and planning are included in your Coachful membership; confirmed builds and changes use AI credits. For credentialed coaches, ICF credential tracking counts coaching hours and distinct clients against ACC, PCC and MCC thresholds.
Where Podia or Systeme.io is the better pick
- You need a permanent free plan. Coachful has no free plan, only a free trial. Systeme.io's free plan never expires.
- You need PayPal. Coachful does not support PayPal. Systeme.io offers it on every plan; Podia from Shaker.
- You want a course marketplace or a general website. Coachful is not a course marketplace and not a website builder for non-coaching sites, and it has no third-party plugins.
- You need your own App Store listing. Coachful's client app ships under the Coachful listing with your branding.
- You need clinical records. Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and does not sign a BAA, so it is not for clinical record-keeping or insurance billing.
- You run an affiliate program with automatic payouts. Coachful tracks affiliate links, clicks, conversions and revenue, but payouts are recorded manually.
The free white-glove build
Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. On every plan, you can ask the Coachful team to build things for you inside your own account. From Create > We'll build it for you, describe a website, funnel, sales page, program, course outline, email sequence, form, link in bio or something else, and attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files such as logos, photos, brand guides and copy. The team usually finishes within about 24 hours. Nothing is invented: no fake credentials, testimonials or prices, and gaps are left for you to fill. It does not include recording videos, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing. Read more about the free white-glove service.

Recent builds give a sense of scope. A somatic coach leaving Kajabi had the homepage and About page rebuilt and the contact form connected. A business mentor for beauty professionals got a 12-week mentorship sales page, a free start-up-guide funnel and rewritten follow-up emails. A leadership coach with a Squarespace renewal days away got one clean homepage with a repeated "talk with me" button. For a coach moving off Podia or Systeme.io, that removes most of the setup work.

How to start with Coachful
- Start a free trial and pick the plan that covers your client count (current plans: Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients).
- Connect your Stripe or Razorpay account and your calendar.
- Request a white-glove build for your website, first funnel or program from the Create page.
- Your clients, programs and content are imported for you during onboarding.
If you are coming from Systeme.io specifically, our Systeme.io alternative page covers the switch, and new coaches can start with Coachful for new coaches.
How do the three compare on total stack cost?
The plan price is only part of the bill. A coach who runs sessions on Podia or Systeme.io usually adds a scheduling app, a video tool, an e-signature tool and sometimes a habit or check-in app. Each one adds a subscription and a login.
| Need | Coachful | Podia | Systeme.io |
|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful (one plan covering 15 clients) | Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients | Plan from $49/month plus add-ons below | Plan from $0 plus add-ons below |
| Courses and community | Included in your Coachful membership | Included | Included |
| Funnels and email | Included in your Coachful membership | Email included (100 to 1,000 subscribers); no funnel builder | Included |
| 1:1 booking and calendar sync | Included in your Coachful membership | Separate scheduling tool | Separate scheduling tool |
| Contracts with e-signature | Included in your Coachful membership | Separate tool | Separate tool |
| Habits and check-ins | Included in your Coachful membership | Separate tool or forms | Separate tool or forms |
| Platform fee on sales | 0% | 5% on Mover | 0% |
We have not priced the add-on tools because they vary widely; list the ones you would actually use and add up their plans before you compare. For a broader view, see Podia alternatives and Systeme io alternatives.
How hard is it to switch between them?
Switching is easiest when you plan for exports from day one. Podia exports contacts, per-product customer lists (active enrollments only) and sales. Systeme.io exports contacts to CSV, but courses and pages are not bulk-exportable, so expect to rebuild them (September 2026 profile).
Before you move, download your contact list, your customer lists and any course videos and files you own. Then rebuild your sales pages, re-create checkout products and tell active members where to log in. On Coachful, clients, programs and content are imported for you during onboarding, the white-glove build can rebuild your website and funnels, and you can later export all client data as a ZIP (roster, notes, check-ins, goals, habits, sessions and form responses).

Does Podia have a free trial?
Yes. Podia offers a 14-day trial with full access, and you do not need a credit card or to choose a plan to start. It has no free plan.
Which is better for email marketing, Podia or Systeme.io?
Systeme.io. It is built around funnels and email automation and includes unlimited emails even on the free plan. Podia's plans include only 100, 500 or 1,000 email subscribers, with extra subscribers sold separately.
Can I book 1:1 coaching sessions on Podia or Systeme.io?
Podia lets you sell coaching as a product, but our September 2026 profile notes no native video calls. Systeme.io has no native 1:1 scheduling tied to client records. Coaches on either tool usually add a separate scheduling app, while Coachful includes booking with two-way calendar sync and built-in video.
Do Podia and Systeme.io support PayPal?
Systeme.io supports Stripe and PayPal on every plan. Podia supports Stripe, and PayPal from the Shaker plan up. Coachful does not support PayPal; it uses Stripe Connect or Razorpay.
Which has better reviews?
On Trustpilot, Systeme.io scores 4.9 from 8,696 reviews and Podia scores 4.1 from 153 reviews (both seen October 25, 2026). Ratings reflect each tool's whole user base, most of whom are not coaches, so weigh them alongside your own trial.
What is Coachful's free white-glove service?
On every plan, the Coachful team builds a website, funnel, sales page, program, course outline, email sequence or similar inside your account, usually within about 24 hours. You describe what you want and attach up to 8 links and 10 files. It does not include recording videos, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing.
Is Coachful a good alternative to both Podia and Systeme.io?
For coaches who deliver programs and sessions, yes: it combines courses, community, funnels, email and a website with booking, contracts, habits, check-ins and a client record under one login. It is not the right pick if you need a permanent free plan, PayPal, a course marketplace or HIPAA-compliant clinical records.
