Practice Better vs Quenza (2026): Which Fits Coaches?

If you are weighing practice better vs quenza, the short answer is that they solve different problems. Practice Better is practice management for wellness and nutrition practitioners: scheduling, telehealth video, billing, charting, forms and programs in one account. Quenza is a client-engagement tool: you build activities, worksheets and programs that clients complete between sessions in its app, but as listed in October 2026 it does not take client payments, and older profiles report no scheduling or video calls. So the real question is not which one is "better" but which half of your practice you need software for.
This guide compares both tools on price, features and client experience using what each vendor documents on its own pricing page in October 2026 and what public reviewers report. We have not run either product in a live practice, and we say so where it matters. We make Coachful, a coaching platform, so we also show where it fits as a third option, including the cases where Practice Better or Quenza is the better pick.
What is the short answer, by use case?
Pick by the job you need done most. If you run a clinical-leaning wellness practice with intake forms, charting and billing, Practice Better is built for that. If you already have booking and payments sorted and only want structured between-session exercises, Quenza is the lighter, cheaper fit.
- Nutrition or functional health practitioner who charts: Practice Better. Its plans include note templates and forms, and it sells an AI Charting Assistant, ePrescribe and PDMP as add-ons.
- Therapist-adjacent or mindset coach who lives on worksheets: Quenza. Even its Spark plan includes activities, programs, notes, tasks, 1:1 chat and more than 100 core activities in a mobile app.
- Coach who wants booking, payments, programs, courses, community and a website under one login: neither covers that whole journey. That is the gap Coachful is built for, covered in its own section below.
- Brand-new coach testing the waters with a few clients: Practice Better's free Sprout plan (3 clients) costs nothing; Quenza has no free plan but offers a 30-day trial without a card.
- Small team: Practice Better Team adds roles, team scheduling and team reporting; Quenza Collective allows up to 3 professionals.

How do Practice Better and Quenza compare side by side?
Practice Better covers more of the administrative workflow, while Quenza goes deeper on interactive client activities. The table below sets them next to each other and adds Coachful as a reference row.
How we judge the field: one login for the whole client journey, between-session delivery, total stack cost, and setup effort (including whether someone will build it for you).
| Tool | Best for | Scheduling and video | Client payments | Between-session work | Website and funnels | Starting price |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | Coaches who deliver programs and want one login for the whole client journey | Booking pages, two-way calendar sync, built-in video or auto-created Zoom, Meet, Teams links | Own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account, 0% platform fee | Programs, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, courses, community | Website builder, funnels, email sequences | Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients |
| Practice Better | Wellness and nutrition practitioners who chart and bill | Scheduling and telehealth video from Starter | Practice Better Payments (powered by Stripe) | Fixed-date programs from Professional; evergreen programs from Plus | No website builder or funnel pages (older profile, September 2026) | Free (Sprout, 3 clients); paid from $35/month |
| Quenza | Coaches and therapists who assign worksheets and activities | Not offered (older profile, September 2026) | None today; invoicing marked planned | Activities, programs, tasks, 1:1 chat, mobile app from Spark | Landing pages from Growth (1) to Collective (5) | $25/month (Spark, 10 clients) |
The shape is clear. Practice Better behaves like a lightweight practice management system with programs bolted on. Quenza behaves like a content and engagement layer that expects you to bring your own booking and billing. If you want a closer look at the first one alone, our Practice Better review covers its strengths and limits in more depth.
How much do Practice Better and Quenza cost?
Quenza is cheaper at small client counts, and Practice Better is cheaper once you need unlimited clients. Both bill monthly with a discount for paying annually; neither charges a setup fee on its pricing page.

Practice Better's plans, as listed in October 2026: Sprout is free for 3 clients, one practitioner and 100 MB. Starter is $35/month ($25/month billed annually) for 10 clients. Professional is $69/month ($59/month annually) for 300 clients. Plus is $99/month ($89/month annually) for unlimited clients and 3 admins. Team is $155/month ($145/month annually) for 2 practitioners, with more at $50 each. One small oddity: the Professional card says "Save $84/year", which implies about $62/month annually, while the plan table shows $59. Check the live page before you commit.

Quenza's plans, as listed in October 2026: Spark is $25/month ($20/month annually) for 10 clients. Growth is $50/month ($40/month annually) for 250 clients. Impact is $125/month ($100/month annually) for 400 clients. Collective is $160/month ($128/month annually) for up to 3 professionals and 500 clients. Beyond is custom-priced for unlimited clients and professionals. Annual billing is 20% off.
| Need | Plan and monthly price | Annual (per month) | What you still pay for elsewhere |
|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful, 10 clients | Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients | Monthly plans cancel in one click | Card processing through your own Stripe or Razorpay account |
| Coachful, unlimited clients | Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients | Flat plan, no per-client fee | Card processing only; AI credits for confirmed AI builds |
| Practice Better, 10 clients | Starter, $35 | $25 | Website, funnels and email marketing tools |
| Practice Better, 11 to 300 clients | Professional, $69 | $59 | Website and funnels; evergreen programs need Plus |
| Practice Better, unlimited clients | Plus, $99 | $89 | Website and funnels; Connector Hub is $49/month extra |
| Quenza, 10 clients | Spark, $25 | $20 | Scheduling, video calls, payments, website |
| Quenza, 11 to 250 clients | Growth, $50 | $40 | Scheduling, video calls, payments |
| Quenza, 251 to 400 clients | Impact, $125 | $100 | Scheduling, video calls, payments |
| Quenza, unlimited clients | Beyond, custom | Custom | Scheduling, video calls, payments |
What do the add-ons cost?
Quenza lists no add-ons. Practice Better lists several, as of October 2026:
- AI Charting Assistant: $10, $20 or $40 per practitioner per month for 1,200, 3,600 or 7,200 minutes, then 2 cents a minute.
- Connector Hub: $49/month (Plus and Team).
- ePrescribe: $49/month plus $99 one-time onboarding per prescriber; PDMP adds $5/month and $399 onboarding.
- SMS at 5 cents a text beyond plan allowances, fax at 10 cents a page, extra admins at $10/month, extra storage at $1/GB on Professional.
Most coaches will never touch ePrescribe or fax. They exist because Practice Better also serves licensed practitioners, which tells you a lot about who the product is designed around.
A worked example: 15 clients
Take an example coach with 15 active clients who sells a 12-week program. On Practice Better, 15 clients rules out Starter (10 clients), so the coach is on Professional at $69/month, or $59 billed annually. That plan includes fixed-date programs, deposits and payment plans. On Quenza, the same coach needs Growth at $50/month, or $40 billed annually, but then still needs a separate scheduler, a video tool and a way to take payment, because Quenza does not process client payments today. Quenza's sticker price is lower; the total stack may not be. Coachful's plan for 15 clients: Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients.
Payment fees
Practice Better states no platform fee and runs payments through Practice Better Payments, powered by Stripe; its pricing page does not list the processing rates. Quenza has no client payment processing, so there is nothing to compare there yet. Our guide to coaching payment software explains what to look for in processing fees, payment plans and refunds.
Which tool handles scheduling and sessions better?
Practice Better, clearly. It includes scheduling and telehealth video from the Starter plan, adds group scheduling on Professional and team scheduling on Team. Quenza's pricing page lists no scheduling or video features, and our older profile from September 2026 found none.
That gap matters more than it looks. If you use Quenza, your client books in one tool, joins a call in another, pays in a third, and then opens Quenza to complete the worksheet you assigned. Each handoff is a place where a client can drop off or a reminder can fail. Practice Better keeps the booking, the call and the invoice in one account. Our comparison of Calendly vs Practice Better goes further into how its booking compares with a dedicated scheduler.
Coachful sits on the same side as Practice Better here: booking pages with availability rules, buffers, minimum notice and time-zone detection; two-way Google, Apple/iCloud and Outlook sync; built-in video or auto-created Zoom, Meet and Teams links; and email reminders plus SMS and WhatsApp reminders once messaging is enabled. More detail is on our scheduling software page.

Which is better for programs and between-session work?
Quenza is the more focused tool for between-session activities; Practice Better gives you programs too but gates the most useful version behind its higher plans. This is the one category where Quenza is genuinely ahead of Practice Better at the entry level.
Quenza's approach
Quenza is built around activities: exercises, worksheets and psychoeducation pieces you send to a client, who completes them in the app. Spark includes more than 100 core activities, Growth more than 200, and Impact more than 400 premium activities. Programs string activities together over time, and recurring tasks arrive on Growth. Its pricing page marks an AI activity generator as planned. If your method depends on clients doing reflective work between calls, this is Quenza's whole reason to exist.
Practice Better's approach
Practice Better's programs are tiered. Fixed-date programs, where everyone starts on the same day, arrive on Professional. Evergreen or self-paced programs, where a client can start any day, need Plus at $99/month, along with program templates. Below that, you work with forms, note templates and secure messaging. For a nutrition practitioner running a group cleanse with a set start date, Professional is enough; for a coach selling a self-paced program that people join any week, Plus is the realistic floor.
Where Coachful differs
Coachful treats the program as the centre of the client relationship: multi-week programs with weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals with progress bars and streaks, all in the client's branded app. Coaching flows and journey templates handle the structure, and more than 40 ready-to-film program templates give you a starting point.

Here is a short walkthrough of how programs are built and delivered in Coachful:
How do payments, invoicing and contracts compare?
Practice Better takes payments; Quenza does not yet. That single difference decides the comparison for many coaches who sell packages or programs.
Practice Better includes billing and payments from Starter and adds deposits and payment plans on Professional. Quenza's pricing page marks invoicing and digital products as "planned" or "soon" in October 2026, and its subscription is billed to you by card, with no processor for your clients. Until that ships, a Quenza user needs a separate payment link or invoicing tool and has to reconcile who paid with who has access.
Contract e-signature is not among the features we have on record for either tool, so confirm it with the vendor if you need signed agreements before the first call. In Coachful, coaching agreements with e-signature are sent before the first call and stored on the client record; payments run through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account with one-time, subscription and payment-plan options, coupons, order bumps, refunds, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Stripe Tax, and Coachful charges a 0% platform fee. See our coaching contracts page for how agreements fit into onboarding.

What about websites, marketing and getting new clients?
Neither Practice Better nor Quenza is a marketing tool. Quenza offers simple landing pages (1 on Growth, 3 on Impact, 5 on Collective) and a custom domain and custom email sender on Impact. Practice Better offers a personalized URL and portal branding on Plus, 10,000 broadcasts a month on Plus, but our September 2026 profile found no website builder or funnel pages.
In practice, both assume you already have a website somewhere else, plus an email tool, plus whatever you use to capture leads. That is fine if your referrals come from doctors or word of mouth. It is a real cost if you are building an audience.
Coachful includes a section-based website builder with a blog, custom domain, SEO settings and 30 designed homepage templates, plus booking, application, lead-magnet and checkout funnels with pixel and UTM tracking, and email lists, broadcasts and multi-step sequences. Our coach website builder page shows what that looks like.

What do clients actually experience in each tool?
A Practice Better client gets a portal for booking, forms, messages, invoices and programs; a Quenza client gets an app built around completing activities and chatting with you. Which feels better depends on what you ask clients to do most often.
In Practice Better, the client experience is administrative first: book, fill in intake forms, pay, message, join the telehealth call, follow the program. Portal branding only arrives on Plus, so on lower plans clients see more of Practice Better's identity than yours. Our articles on the Practice Better client portal and the Practice Better app walk through those screens.
In Quenza, the client experience is engagement first: open the app, see today's activity, complete it, send it back, chat. It is focused and pleasant for that loop. The catch is that the client leaves Quenza to book, pay and join calls, so the app is one stop among several. A custom logo arrives on Growth, and a custom domain and email sender on Impact.
Public review volume is thin for both. As seen on October 25, 2026, Practice Better holds 3.8 on Trustpilot from 87 reviews and Quenza 4.3 from 8 reviews. Eight reviews is too few to read much into, so weigh those numbers lightly and try each product with a real client during the trial.

In Coachful, the client opens one branded app (the coach's branding inside the Coachful app) for sessions, programs, habits, check-ins, courses, community and documents. That single front door is the main difference from a Quenza-plus-scheduler-plus-payments setup.

Which handles health data and clinical work?
Practice Better is the one designed with clinical workflows in mind, with charting, ePrescribe and fax add-ons that only make sense for licensed practitioners. Quenza is positioned for coaches and therapists. Neither vendor's pricing page settles the compliance question for you, so if you handle protected health information, ask each vendor for a business associate agreement in writing.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services explains who counts as a covered entity and what a business associate agreement does on its HIPAA guidance for professionals. Many health and wellness coaches are not covered entities, but if you also hold a clinical licence or work under one, check with an attorney.
A scope note for health coaches using any of these tools: coaching is not medical treatment. Coaches support behaviour change; they do not diagnose, prescribe or treat. Refer a client to a doctor or licensed provider when you see symptoms that need assessment, signs of an eating disorder, medication questions, or anything that falls outside your training. The National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching publishes the scope of practice and code of ethics that many health coaches follow.
Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and does not sign a BAA, so clinical records and insurance billing belong in a clinical system. If you need both, a common setup is a clinical record system for charting and a coaching platform for the program, habits and community. Our explainer on the Practice Better EHR covers when you really need one.
Which should you pick, for which kind of coach?
Choose Practice Better if your work looks like a clinical practice, choose Quenza if your work is mostly reflective exercises between sessions you already book elsewhere, and look at an all-in-one if you want booking, selling and delivery under one login.
| Your situation | Best fit | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Coachful | Coaches selling programs, courses or group coaching who want one login and one client app | Booking, payments, contracts, programs with habits and check-ins, courses, community, website and email in one subscription, with a free white-glove build |
| Dietitian-adjacent or functional nutrition practitioner | Practice Better | Charting, forms, telehealth and billing in one place; AI charting and ePrescribe available |
| Mindset or wellbeing coach with booking already sorted | Quenza | Large activity library and a focused client app from $25/month |
| Student or brand-new coach with up to 3 clients | Practice Better Sprout | Free plan for students and new practitioners |
| Coach with 250 to 400 clients in activity programs | Quenza Impact | 400 clients, custom domain and 400+ premium activities |
| Wellness team of 2 or more practitioners | Practice Better Team | Roles, team scheduling, team chat and team reporting |
Pick Practice Better if...
You chart sessions, need intake forms and notes, bill clients for appointments, and run a nutrition or functional health practice. Its free Sprout plan is also a sensible way to start with 3 clients. Pick it over Coachful if you need clinical charting, ePrescribe or a system meant for health records.

Pick Quenza if...
Your method depends on clients completing structured exercises between sessions, you already have a scheduler and a way to get paid, and you want a ready library of activities rather than writing your own. Pick it over Coachful if all you want is a low-cost activity library and app, and you are happy to keep booking, payments and marketing in other tools.

What is the third option, and when does it beat both?
Coachful is a coaching platform where one subscription covers booking, payments, contracts, program delivery with habits and check-ins, courses, a community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant, with one login for the coach and one branded app for the client. It beats both tools when you want the whole client journey in one place; it does not beat Practice Better for clinical work.

Who Coachful is for
It is built for coaches who deliver programs, not just sessions; solo coaches growing into a small team; and coaches replacing four to six separate tools. Niche guides cover health coaches, mindset coaches and life coaches, and there is a Fitness & Nutrition pack with a workout builder, nutrition targets up to calories and macros, meal plans, recipes, progress photos and weekly check-ins.
Where Coachful beats Practice Better and Quenza
- One login for the whole journey. A prospect finds your website or funnel, books, signs the agreement, pays, joins the program, logs habits and check-ins, and posts in the community, all in the same account.
- Between-session delivery. Weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins and streaks, plus courses, downloads, events and a community feed with cohort groups created automatically on enrollment.
- Client signals. Each client record shows goals, check-ins, habits, notes, payments and sessions, with a status of thriving, active, quiet or at risk and an AI briefing before each session.
- Marketing included. Website builder, funnels, email sequences with branching and A/B splits, a social planner, and Instagram automations that DM a booking link or lead magnet when someone comments a keyword.
- Michelle, the AI assistant. Works from your live practice data to build programs, draft emails, summarize recorded sessions and brief you before calls. Questions and planning are included in your Coachful membership; confirmed builds and changes use AI credits.
- ICF credential tracking. Counts coaching hours and distinct clients against ACC, PCC and MCC thresholds and exports an ICF client coaching log. See ICF hour tracking.

Where Coachful does not beat them
- It is not HIPAA-certified, signs no BAA, and is not for clinical record-keeping or insurance billing. Practice Better is closer to that world.
- It has no permanent free plan, unlike Practice Better Sprout.
- It has no PayPal, and no Garmin, Fitbit, Whoop or Oura sync.
- The client app ships under the Coachful listing with your branding, not under your own App Store account.
- It does not ship a prewritten library of hundreds of psychoeducation activities the way Quenza does; you build check-ins, forms and flows from templates or ask Michelle to draft them.
Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. On every plan, you can open Create, choose "We'll build it for you · FREE", describe what you want (a website, funnel, sales page, program, course outline, coaching flow, form, email sequence and more) and attach up to 8 reference links and 10 files. The Coachful team builds it inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours. Nothing gets invented: no fake credentials, testimonials or prices, and gaps are left for you to fill. It does not cover recording videos, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing. One recent example: a somatic coach leaving Kajabi had the homepage and About page rebuilt and the contact form connected. Another: a menopause and midlife health coach starting from nothing got a five-page site in sage and cream with every button leading to a free 20-minute consultation. Read more about the free white-glove build service.

How to start
Start a free trial, then use the white-glove build to have your website, first program or funnel set up for you. Clients, programs and content are imported for you during onboarding, so a move from Practice Better or Quenza does not mean retyping everything; our guide on how to migrate from Practice Better lists what to export first. Current plans: Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients. For a direct two-way comparison, read Practice Better vs Coachful, or browse more Practice Better alternatives.
Can you get your data out of each tool?
Practice Better documents a per-client archive of notes, invoices and forms, emailed to you and kept for 48 hours, a contact list as a spreadsheet, and bulk export on request (older profile, September 2026). Quenza does not document a data export; API access arrives on Collective. Plan your exit before you sign up, especially if you will hold years of client notes.
Coachful offers a full client data export as a ZIP (roster, notes, check-ins, goals, habits, sessions and form responses) plus course export, and it is GDPR-ready.
Frequently asked questions
Is Quenza cheaper than Practice Better?
At 10 clients, yes: Quenza Spark is $25/month against Practice Better Starter at $35/month, as listed in October 2026. Practice Better also has a free plan for 3 clients, which Quenza does not. Once you add the scheduling, video and payment tools Quenza does not include, the total cost can end up higher.
Does Quenza take client payments?
Not as of October 2026. Its pricing page marks invoicing and digital products as planned or coming soon. You need a separate payment tool to sell sessions or programs alongside Quenza.
Does Quenza have scheduling or video calls?
Its pricing page lists no scheduling or video features, and our September 2026 profile found none. Plan to pair it with a separate scheduler and a video tool such as Zoom.
Is Practice Better good for life or business coaches?
It works, but much of what you pay for (charting, ePrescribe, fax) is aimed at health practitioners, and it has no website builder or funnels. Our article on Practice Better for coaches covers who it suits outside nutrition.
Which has the better client app?
Quenza's app is focused on completing activities and chatting, which it does well. Practice Better's portal is broader, covering booking, forms, payments and programs. Neither gives you a website, community and courses in the same place.
Can I use Practice Better and Quenza together?
You can, using Practice Better for booking, charting and billing and Quenza for activities. You would pay for two subscriptions and your clients would use two apps, so weigh that against a single platform.
Do Practice Better and Quenza offer free trials?
Practice Better offers 14 days on paid plans and 30 days on Team, plus the free Sprout plan. Quenza offers 30 days without a credit card. Coachful offers a free trial too.
What is Coachful's free white-glove service?
It is a build service included on every Coachful plan. You describe what you need, such as a website, funnel, program or email sequence, attach references, and the Coachful team builds it inside your account, usually within about 24 hours. It does not include video recording, logo design or ad management.
Is Coachful a replacement for Practice Better's clinical features?
No. Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and is not built for clinical records or insurance billing. If you chart as a licensed practitioner, keep a clinical system for records and use a coaching platform for programs and engagement.
How hard is it to switch from Practice Better or Quenza?
Export your client list and notes first, then rebuild programs in the new tool. With Coachful, clients, programs and content are imported for you during onboarding. Our switching checklist walks through the order.
