Quenza vs upcoach: Which Fits Coaches in 2026?

Quenza vs upcoach comes down to one question: are you coaching individuals between sessions, or running group programs for a cohort? Quenza is a client-engagement tool built around activities, worksheets and 1:1 chat, with plans from $25 a month and a 30-day trial. upcoach is a group and cohort program platform with progress dashboards, AI reports and Stripe payments, from $49 a month plus a 2% transaction fee on its entry plan. Neither one handles the whole business on its own, which is why this comparison ends with a third option.
We make Coachful, a coaching platform that competes with both, so read our verdicts with that in mind. Every Quenza and upcoach price below is as listed on their pricing pages in October 2026, and anything older is labelled. We have not run paid accounts on either tool; we describe what each vendor documents and what public reviewers report.
What is the short answer by use case?
Pick Quenza for low-cost, worksheet-driven 1:1 work, pick upcoach for structured group programs with dashboards, and pick Coachful if you want booking, payments, programs and community under one login. Here is how that plays out for common situations.
- Therapist-adjacent or reflective 1:1 coaching with homework between sessions: Quenza. Its library of 100+ to 400+ ready activities (depending on plan) is the reason people buy it.
- Cohort-based leadership or group programs where a sponsor wants progress reports: upcoach. Its roles (Admin, Facilitator, Sponsor) on Pro and its AI impact reports are built for that.
- A solo coach who needs to take bookings and payments: neither fits cleanly. Quenza has no client payments today, and upcoach did not document contracts or invoicing in our September 2026 review.
- A coach replacing four to six tools (scheduler, Stripe links, e-signature, course host, community, email): Coachful, which covers all of those in one subscription.
- Under 10 clients and on a tight budget: Quenza Spark at $25 a month ($20 billed annually) is the cheapest of the two.
The rest of the article explains why, with the numbers.

How do Quenza and upcoach compare side by side?
They overlap less than their marketing suggests. Quenza helps you send structured exercises to clients and see their responses; upcoach helps you run a program for many participants at once and report on it.
We rank on four criteria: one login for the whole client journey, between-session delivery, total stack cost, and setup effort (including Coachful's free white-glove build).
| Platform | Built for | Entry price | Client payments | Scheduling | Client app |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | Coaches who deliver programs and want one login for booking, payments, programs, courses, community and website | Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients | Own Stripe Connect or Razorpay, 0% platform fee | Yes, with two-way Google, Apple and Outlook sync | Coach's branding inside the Coachful app |
| Quenza | Coaches and therapists who send activities, worksheets and programs between sessions | $25/mo ($20/mo annual), 10 clients | None today (invoicing marked planned) | Not offered (September 2026 profile) | Yes, Quenza mobile app |
| upcoach | Group and cohort coaching programs with dashboards and AI reports | $49/mo, 25 active participants | Stripe, plus a 2% upcoach fee on Starter | Not documented on the pricing page | Yes; app store app under your brand only on Enterprise |
Two differences decide most buying decisions. First, money: Quenza cannot take a client payment at all today, while upcoach can but adds its own fee on every plan below Scale. Second, scale: Quenza is a one-professional tool until the Collective plan, while upcoach counts participants and adds seats as you climb.

How much do Quenza and upcoach cost?
Quenza runs from $25 to $160 a month with 20% off annually; upcoach runs from $49 to $399 a month and adds a 1% to 2% transaction fee on every plan below Scale. Both have custom top tiers, and neither has a free plan.
| Plan | Monthly price | Annual price | Clients or participants | Seats | Platform fee on client payments |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful (all plans) | Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients | Flat monthly plans, cancel in one click | Lower plans cap clients; Pro is unlimited | Studio and Agency add coach seats | 0% (processor fees only) |
| Quenza Spark | $25 | $20/mo | 10 clients | 1 | No client payments |
| Quenza Growth | $50 | $40/mo | 250 clients | 1 | No client payments |
| Quenza Impact | $125 | $100/mo | 400 clients | 1 | No client payments |
| Quenza Collective | $160 | $128/mo | 500 clients | Up to 3 | No client payments |
| Quenza Beyond | Custom | Custom | Unlimited | Unlimited | No client payments |
| upcoach Starter | $49 | $588/yr | 25 active participants | 1 | 2% plus Stripe |
| upcoach Pro | $99 | $1,188/yr | 100 participants | 2 | 1% plus Stripe |
| upcoach Business | $199 | $2,388/yr | 250 participants | 5 | 1% plus Stripe |
| upcoach Scale | $399 | $4,788/yr | 500 participants | 10 | 0% plus Stripe |
| upcoach Enterprise | Custom | Custom | 500+ | Custom | 0% plus Stripe |
A quirk worth knowing: upcoach's pricing page shows annual totals equal to twelve times the monthly price, even though its billing toggle says "2 months free". If the annual discount matters to you, confirm it at checkout. upcoach also sells extra participants at $99 a month per 100 and extra seats at $99 a month, both only on Business and Scale. Quenza lists no add-ons.

What does a real month cost on each?
Here is an illustrative example, not data from any customer. Say you coach 20 clients and collect $3,000 a month from them.
- On upcoach Starter: $49 plus a 2% upcoach fee ($60 on $3,000) is $109 a month before Stripe's own processing fees. Move to Pro for branding and the fee drops to 1% ($30), for $129 a month.
- On Quenza: 20 clients is over Spark's cap of 10, so you need Growth at $50 ($40 annually). Quenza takes no payments, so you add whatever you pay for a separate payment and booking setup on top.
- On Coachful: the plan that covers 20 clients is Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients. No platform fee comes off that client revenue, only your processor's fees.
The fee matters more as you grow. At $10,000 a month in program sales (again, an example), upcoach's 1% on Pro is $100 a month on top of the subscription, which is why its Scale plan, with 0%, exists. For a deeper look at each vendor's plans, see our Quenza pricing breakdown and upcoach pricing breakdown.
Which is better for programs and between-session work?
Quenza is better at individual homework; upcoach is better at structured group programs. The difference is in what each treats as the unit of work: Quenza thinks in activities sent to a client, upcoach thinks in programs run for participants.
Quenza: activities, worksheets and pathways
Quenza's core is its activity library. Spark includes 100+ core activities, Growth 200+, and Impact 400+ premium activities, and you can build your own. You string activities into programs, add notes and tasks, and chat 1:1 with the client. Growth adds groups, recurring tasks and file sharing. This suits coaches whose method is reflective exercises, journaling prompts and assessments, and it is why Quenza is popular with therapists as well as coaches. Quenza's pricing page also lists an AI activity generator as "planned", so do not count on it yet.
upcoach: programs, dashboards and AI reports
upcoach includes unlimited programs on every plan, progress dashboards, AI insights and a monthly allowance of AI impact reports (3 on Starter, 15 on Pro, 50 on Business). New in 2026, every plan also connects to Claude or ChatGPT through MCP, so you can query program data from an AI assistant. The model is built for a facilitator running many participants through the same curriculum, with a sponsor (for example, the employer paying for leadership coaching) able to see progress on Pro and above.
How Coachful handles the same work
Coachful sits closer to upcoach on structure and closer to Quenza on daily touchpoints. Programs run for multiple weeks with weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals with progress bars and streaks. Enrolling clients in a program creates a cohort group automatically, so a group program gets its own space without extra setup.

What Coachful does not have is Quenza's depth of pre-written therapeutic worksheets. It ships more than 40 ready-to-film program templates and 48 course templates with quizzes, plus forms and worksheets you build yourself, but if a 400-activity library is the reason you are shopping, Quenza wins that row.
How do scheduling, payments and contracts compare?
This is the weakest area for both tools and the main reason coaches end up paying for extra software alongside them. Quenza has no scheduling or client payments; upcoach takes Stripe payments with a fee but did not document scheduling, contracts or invoicing.
| Business task | Coachful | Quenza | upcoach |
|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful summary | Covers every row below in one subscription | Needs other tools for most rows | Needs other tools for several rows |
| Booking pages and calendar sync | Availability rules, buffers, notice, time zones; two-way Google, Apple, Outlook | Not offered (September 2026 profile) | Not documented on the pricing page |
| Video calls | Built-in video or auto-created Zoom, Meet, Teams links | Not offered (September 2026 profile) | Not documented on the pricing page |
| Client payments | One-time, subscriptions, payment plans, coupons, order bumps via own Stripe or Razorpay | None; invoicing and digital products marked planned | Stripe, with 2% or 1% upcoach fee below Scale |
| Invoices | Invoice per transaction plus manual invoices | Marked planned | Not offered (September 2026 profile) |
| Contracts with e-signature | Sent before the first call, stored on the client record | Not documented | Not offered (September 2026 profile) |
| Reminders | Email, plus SMS and WhatsApp once messaging is enabled | Not documented | Not documented |
If you choose Quenza, budget for a separate scheduler and a payment link or invoicing tool, and accept that a client will log in to one place for exercises and somewhere else to book and pay. If you choose upcoach, the payments are built in, but you still need a scheduler and a contract tool unless upcoach has added them since our September 2026 review. For the Coachful side of this, our pages on coaching scheduling, payment software for coaches and coaching contracts go into detail.

What about branding, websites and marketing?
Quenza gives you landing pages from Growth up; upcoach gives you a custom domain and brand colors from Pro up. Neither is a website or email marketing platform.
- Quenza: custom logo and 1 landing page on Growth, custom domain, custom email sender and 3 landing pages on Impact, 5 landing pages on Collective. Webhooks scale from 1 to unlimited, and API access starts on Collective.
- upcoach: brand colors, logo and custom domain from Pro. A branded mobile app in the app stores is an Enterprise feature.
- Coachful: a section-based website builder with blog, custom domain, SEO settings and 30 designed homepage templates; booking, application, lead-magnet and checkout funnels with pixels and UTM tracking; email lists, broadcasts and multi-step sequences; and a social planner that publishes to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Threads and YouTube.
If marketing is someone else's job (an employer client, a coaching firm), the gap does not matter much. If you are a solo coach who needs to find clients, it matters a lot, because with either Quenza or upcoach your website, email list and sales pages live in other paid tools.
What is the client experience like on each?
Quenza's client experience is focused and calm: the client opens the app, completes the activity you sent, and chats with you. upcoach's client experience is program-shaped: participants see the curriculum, their progress and the group. The catch with both is everything that happens outside that view.
On Quenza, a client books you in one tool, pays in another, signs a contract in a third, and does homework in Quenza. On upcoach, they pay inside upcoach but still book and sign elsewhere. Every extra login is a place a client can drop off, and every extra tool is one more email they have to find. Neither vendor documents a community feed or courses as a core feature, so if your offer includes a course or a peer group, that is another tool.
Review volume is thin for both. Quenza holds 4.3 on Trustpilot from 8 reviews as of October 2026. upcoach's Trustpilot page had no reviews; an older Capterra profile showed 4.9 from 8. Eight reviews is too few to say much either way, so weigh a trial over the stars.

For comparison, a Coachful client gets one branded home where their next session, program week, habits, check-ins, courses, community and payments sit together. It runs inside the Coachful app with your branding, not under your own App Store account, which is the same trade-off upcoach makes below Enterprise.

How do data, teams and integrations compare?
upcoach is the stronger team tool of the two; Quenza is mostly single-professional until you pay for Collective or Beyond. Both have APIs or webhooks of some kind.
- Teams: Quenza allows 1 professional on Spark, Growth and Impact, up to 3 on Collective, and unlimited on custom Beyond, which also adds roles and permissions. upcoach includes 1, 2, 5 and 10 seats on its four listed plans, with a full role model across teams on Scale.
- Data export: upcoach exports clients to CSV, including custom fields, from its Admin Panel (September 2026 profile). Quenza did not document an export; API access on Collective is the route to your data. Coachful exports the full client record as a ZIP, including roster, notes, check-ins, goals, habits, sessions and form responses.
- AI: upcoach has AI insights, impact reports and MCP access to Claude and ChatGPT. Quenza's AI activity generator is listed as planned. Coachful has Michelle, an assistant that works from your live practice data, briefs you before sessions and summarizes recorded ones.
For larger coaching firms, note what Coachful does not do: it has no multi-stage sales deal board for big teams and no Salesforce or HubSpot integration. If that is a requirement, neither Coachful nor Quenza fits, and upcoach Enterprise or an organization-focused tool is the better conversation.
Which should you pick for which kind of coach?
Match the tool to how you deliver, not to the feature count. Here is the decision by coach type.
| Coach type | Best fit | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Coachful: solo coach selling packages and programs | Coachful | Booking, payments, contracts, programs and website in one place, with no platform fee |
| Reflective 1:1 coach who already has booking and payments sorted | Quenza | Deep activity library, low entry price, 30-day trial |
| Leadership coach running cohorts for an employer | upcoach | Sponsor role, progress dashboards, AI impact reports |
| Coaching firm with 5 to 10 facilitators | upcoach Business or Scale | Seats and roles built in; 0% fee on Scale |
| Health or wellness coach with daily habits and check-ins | Coachful | Habits, check-ins and streaks built into programs |
| Coach under 10 clients testing the waters | Quenza Spark | Cheapest of the two at $25 ($20 annually) |
If you are weighing either vendor against more than one rival, our Quenza alternatives and upcoach alternatives roundups cover the wider field, and the CoachAccountable vs Quenza and Delenta vs upcoach comparisons cover the closest head-to-heads.
Is there a third option that beats both?
For most independent coaches, yes: Coachful does what Quenza and upcoach each do well and covers the business tasks both leave out. It does not win every case, and the cases where it loses are listed below.

What Coachful is and who it is for
Coachful is a coaching platform. One subscription covers booking, payments, contracts, program delivery with habits and check-ins, courses, a community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant, with one login for the coach and one branded app for the client. It is built for coaches who deliver programs rather than only sessions, solo coaches growing into a small team, and coaches replacing four to six tools. The company is based in Tallinn, Estonia, and holds 4.5 on Trustpilot from 21 reviews.
Here is a short walkthrough of how a program is built and delivered:
Where Coachful beats both
- One login for the whole client journey. A client books, signs the coaching agreement, pays, follows the program, logs habits and joins the community in one place. Quenza and upcoach each cover part of that.
- No platform fee. Since August 2026 Coachful charges 0% on client payments; you pay only Stripe or Razorpay processing. upcoach charges 1% to 2% below its top listed plan.
- Group programs with built-in community. Cohort groups are created on enrollment, with a feed, group chat, direct messages, video events, group calls and webinars. See group coaching software.
- Selling, not just delivering. Website, funnels, email sequences, courses and bundles live in the same account, so a lead becomes a client without a data hand-off.
- ICF credential tracking. Coachful counts coaching hours and distinct clients against ACC, PCC and MCC thresholds and exports a client coaching log with paid and pro bono hours, which helps when you apply under the ICF credential requirements. More at ICF hour tracking.

Where Coachful does not beat them
- Quenza's activity library. If you want hundreds of ready therapeutic exercises out of the box, Quenza has more.
- Clinical work. Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and does not sign a BAA. If you are a therapist keeping clinical records or billing insurance, use a clinical system. Coaching is not treatment; when a client shows signs of a mental health condition, refer them to a licensed professional.
- Your own App Store listing. The client app runs under the Coachful listing with your branding. upcoach offers a fully branded store app, but only on Enterprise.
- Enterprise sales workflows. No multi-stage deal board for large teams, no Salesforce or HubSpot integration, and no routing forms that pick a host from form answers.
- PayPal and free plans. Coachful has no PayPal, and every plan is paid after the trial.
Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. From Create, pick "We'll build it for you", describe what you want (a website, funnel, program, course outline, email sequence, form, coaching flow and more), attach up to 8 reference links and 10 files, and the Coachful team builds it inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours. Nothing is invented: no fake credentials, testimonials or prices, and gaps are left for you to fill. Recent examples include a leadership coach with a Squarespace renewal days away who got one clean homepage with a repeated "talk with me" button, and a real-estate and money coach who got a year-long cohort program with an application form, an eight-page site and a nine-day bootcamp funnel. It does not cover recording videos, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing. Read more about the free white-glove service.

How to start
- Start a free trial and connect your Stripe or Razorpay account.
- Request a white-glove build for the piece you need first, usually the website or your main program.
- Coming from Quenza or upcoach? Clients, programs and content are imported for you during onboarding.
- Pick the plan that fits your client count (current plans: Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients).

See the full feature set on our coaching software page, or compare more tools on Compare.
What should you check during a trial?
Use the trial to test the client side, not the feature list. Quenza gives you 30 days without a card; upcoach gives you 14 days without a card and a 14-day money-back guarantee on your first paid subscription.
- Enroll a test client and do a full week as them. Count the logins and emails it takes to book, pay and complete homework.
- Run your actual price through the fee math. On upcoach, multiply your monthly revenue by 2% (Starter) or 1% (Pro, Business) and add it to the subscription.
- Check the cap you will hit next. Quenza Spark stops at 10 clients; upcoach Starter at 25 active participants. Know what the next tier costs before you fill the current one.
- Export something. Make sure you can get your client list out in a format you can use elsewhere.
- List the tools you still need. Add their prices to the subscription to get your real monthly cost.
Frequently asked questions
Is Quenza or upcoach cheaper?
Quenza is cheaper at the entry level: Spark is $25 a month ($20 billed annually) for 10 clients, against $49 a month for upcoach Starter with 25 participants. upcoach also adds a 2% fee on client payments on Starter. Quenza does not take client payments at all, so you will pay for a separate payment tool.
Does Quenza take client payments?
Not as listed in October 2026. Its pricing page marks invoicing and digital products as planned. Until those ship, you need a separate tool to charge clients.
What transaction fee does upcoach charge?
upcoach adds its own fee on top of Stripe's processing: 2% on Starter, 1% on Pro and Business, and 0% on Scale and Enterprise. On $5,000 a month of program sales (an example), that is $100 on Starter or $50 on Pro.
Which is better for group coaching, Quenza or upcoach?
upcoach. It is built around group and cohort programs, with progress dashboards, AI reports and sponsor roles. Quenza added groups on its Growth plan, but its strength remains individual activities and 1:1 chat.
Do Quenza and upcoach have free trials?
Yes. Quenza offers 30 days with no credit card. upcoach offers 14 days with no credit card, plus a 14-day money-back guarantee on the first paid subscription. Neither has a free plan.
Can I use Quenza or upcoach for therapy clients?
Quenza markets to therapists as well as coaches, so check its compliance documentation for your jurisdiction before storing clinical notes. Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and is not meant for clinical record-keeping or insurance billing; keep clinical records in a clinical system.
Does either tool include scheduling?
Quenza did not offer scheduling or video calls in our September 2026 review, and upcoach's pricing page does not list scheduling. Coachful includes booking pages with two-way calendar sync, reminders and built-in or auto-created video links.
What is Coachful's free white-glove service?
It is a build service included on every Coachful plan. You describe what you need, such as a website, funnel, program or email sequence, attach references, and the team builds it inside your account, usually within about 24 hours. It does not include video recording, logo design, ads or ongoing marketing.
Can I move from Quenza or upcoach to Coachful?
Yes. Export what you can from your current tool (upcoach exports clients to CSV), and Coachful imports clients, programs and content for you during onboarding. Keep your old account open until your clients are active in the new one.
Which is best for a new coach?
A new coach usually needs to book, get paid and look credible online before anything else, which neither Quenza nor upcoach covers in full. Coachful does, and its setup for new coaches plus the white-glove build gets a site and first offer live quickly. If you only need homework tools for a handful of clients, Quenza Spark is the lowest-cost start.
