Wix Review 2026: Strengths, Limits and Verdict for Coaches

This Wix review has a short answer for coaches: Wix is a capable, affordable website builder that can take bookings and payments, but it is not a coaching platform. If you need a good-looking site with a booking page, it does the job from $29 a month billed annually, as listed in October 2026. If you deliver multi-week programs and want habits, check-ins and client progress in one place, you will be assembling that yourself and you will probably outgrow it.
The verdict at a glance
- Who it suits: coaches who mainly need a marketing website, sell sessions or simple packages, and are comfortable adding and configuring apps.
- Who should skip it: coaches who deliver programs between sessions, need signed agreements before the first call, or want clients to follow habits and check-ins in one branded place.
- Public rating: Trustpilot 3.4 from 29,316 reviews, seen on 28 October 2026.
- Price, as listed in October 2026: a free plan with Wix branding, then $17, $29, $39 or $159 a month billed annually. Payments and bookings start at the $29 Core plan.
We make Coachful, a coaching platform that competes with Wix for some of these buyers, so read this with that in mind. We have not run a hands-on test of Wix for this article. The Wix details below come from what Wix documents on its plans page, blog and support center, and from what public reviewers report. We state what we could not confirm.

What is Wix, and what is it built for?
Wix is a general website builder. You pick a template, edit it with a drag-and-drop editor, and add business functions by installing Wix's own apps on the site.
That last point matters most for coaches. Wix is not organized around a client, a program or a coaching relationship. It is organized around a site, and the coaching-relevant functions are separate apps you attach to that site:
- Wix Bookings handles appointments and classes with online payment. Wix's plans page calls this "Scheduling and services".
- Pricing Plans sells memberships, session packages and subscriptions, which can include bookings or programs.
- Online Programs runs step-by-step courses, programs and challenges.
- Members Area gives people a logged-in place on your site.
- Email Marketing sends campaigns and automated emails from a monthly quota.
- Spaces by Wix is a member app where people can book, join groups and chat. A branded native app is offered separately, and we could not capture its price.
Selling through these apps needs a Premium plan that accepts payments, which means Core or higher. The result is flexible, and for a business that sells many things it is a real strength. For a coach, it means the client journey is something you configure rather than something the software already understands. If you want to see how Wix compares head to head with other builders, we cover that in Squarespace vs Wix, Wix vs WordPress, Showit vs Wix and Carrd vs Wix.
What does Wix do well for coaches?
Wix's strongest cards are its low entry cost, its design freedom and the breadth of what one site can do. Those are real advantages, and a fair review should say so before getting to the limits.
- You can start without paying. The free plan needs no credit card and includes hosting, the drag-and-drop editor and templates. You will have Wix branding and no custom domain, but it lets you try the editor before spending anything.
- Booking and payment in one site. From Core, a visitor can read your page, book a session and pay without leaving your site.
- Wide payment options. Wix Payments covers cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Klarna and Affirm, plus point-of-sale and tap to pay for in-person work. If your clients ask to pay by PayPal or in installments through Klarna, this is a true point in Wix's favor.
- It handles more than coaching. A physical product store, a site for a second business or a large team of collaborators (up to 100 on Business Elite) are all within scope.
- No listed platform commission. The plans page does not list a Wix commission on your sales. You pay processing, which we cover in the pricing section.
How does Wix cover each job a coach needs done?
Wix handles marketing and selling well, covers delivery partly, and leaves most of the client experience for you to build. The table below sets the five jobs side by side with Coachful, then each job gets an honest note.
| Tool | Marketing | Selling | Delivery | Client experience | Admin |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | Website builder, funnels, lists, sequences, social planner, Instagram automations | Own Stripe or Razorpay; plans, bumps, coupons; 0% platform fee | Programs, habits, check-ins, courses, cohorts, group calls | Coach's branding inside the Coachful app; one home for everything | Client record, agreements, invoices, two-way calendar sync, ICF hour tracking |
| Wix | Strong site builder; email and automations with a monthly send quota | Wix Payments from Core; packages and subscriptions through Pricing Plans | Online Programs for step-by-step content; no listed habit tracking or structured check-ins | Your site's member area plus the Spaces by Wix member app; branded native app is separate | Contacts CRM with segments; booking and staff reports |
Marketing: the part Wix was made for
Wix is at its best here. You get templates, design control and a contacts CRM with segments connected to Wix Email Marketing and automations. Trustpilot's summary of its reviews also has people crediting the SEO tools with bringing more visits to their sites.
The limit to watch is email volume. Free sites get 200 emails a month, paid quotas depend on the plan, and campaigns and automated emails both count against the same balance. We could not capture what extra sends cost, so check that before you build a long nurture sequence. A coach with a growing list and several automations can hit the ceiling sooner than expected.
Selling: fine for sessions and packages
From Core, you can charge for bookings and sell memberships, session packages and subscriptions. For a coach selling a package of six sessions, this works. The Light plan is the trap: it costs $17 a month billed annually and includes a custom domain, but it cannot accept payments at all, and scheduling and services appear only from Core upward.
What is less clear is the sales process around the sale. Application funnels, order bumps and sending a coaching agreement before the first call are not features we found documented in the Wix sources we checked for this review. You may be able to approximate some of it with forms and third-party tools, but test it during the 14-day refund window instead of assuming it is there.
Delivery: partly there, with a gap at the center
Online Programs gives you step-by-step courses, programs and challenges, and paid programs need a payment-enabled plan. That suits a self-paced course or a simple challenge.
The gap is what happens between sessions. Habit tracking and structured client check-ins are not listed Wix features. You would need forms, program steps or third-party apps to get them, and you would have to work out how the answers reach one view of how each client is doing. If your offer is "I will keep you on track for 12 weeks", this is the piece you would be building by hand.
Client experience: two places, not one
Clients log in to your site's member area, and members can use the Spaces by Wix app to book, join groups and chat. A branded native app is offered as a separate option at a price we could not capture. It is a workable setup for a community or a class business. It is further from what a coaching client expects, which is one place with their next session, this week's tasks, their progress and their documents.
Admin: organized contacts, not client records
Wix gives you a contacts CRM, segments and booking and staff reports you can export from the booking calendar. That covers who bought what and when. It is not built as a coaching record holding goals, session notes, intake answers and how engaged a client is this week. We also found no ICF hour log among Wix's listed features. Coachful has a dedicated ICF hour tracker, and we explain the record-keeping difference on our coaching CRM page.
How much does Wix cost for a coach?
For most coaches the realistic starting point is Core at $29 a month, billed annually at $348 for the year, because it is the cheapest plan with both payments and bookings. These figures are as listed in October 2026.

| Plan | Price billed annually | Yearly total | Storage and collaborators | What it means for a coach |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients | Flat monthly plans; monthly plans cancel in one click | Lower plans cap clients; team plans add coach seats | Website, booking, payments, agreements, programs and client app in your membership |
| Wix Free | $0 | $0 | Not captured | Wix branding, no custom domain, 200 marketing emails a month. Good for trying the editor. |
| Wix Light | $17 a month | $204 | 2 GB, 2 collaborators | Custom domain and no Wix branding, but cannot accept payments. A brochure site only. |
| Wix Core | $29 a month | $348 | 50 GB, 5 collaborators | Payments, Wix Bookings, Basic eCommerce and the Basic marketing suite. The practical minimum. |
| Wix Business | $39 a month | $468 | 100 GB, 10 collaborators | Standard eCommerce and the Standard marketing suite. Wix marks this plan as recommended. |
| Wix Business Elite | $159 a month | $1,908 | Unlimited storage, 100 collaborators | Advanced eCommerce, marketing suite and developer platform. More than most solo coaches need. |
Yearly totals are the per-month price multiplied by 12. Wix says prices and currency vary by location, that USD prices are shown for reference, and that taxes are added according to your billing address. Displayed prices are for yearly subscriptions paid in full at purchase.
Monthly billing: Wix says other subscription periods are available, but we did not find monthly prices on an official Wix page. Third-party guides report roughly $24, $36, $46 and $172 for Light, Core, Business and Business Elite, and one lists Business at $43. Treat those as unconfirmed and check the checkout before you commit.
Trial and refund: Wix states it does not offer a free trial of Premium plans. It does offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on the initial upgrade to a Premium plan, so use those 14 days to test the things you depend on.
What will you pay in processing?
Wix lists no commission on sales, but Wix Payments charges processing. In the US, Wix support lists these rates:
- Online card transactions: 2.9% + $0.30, with a $15 chargeback fee.
- PayPal through Wix Payments: from 3.49% + $0.49.
- Klarna and Affirm: 6% + $0.30.
- In-person point of sale: 2.6%.
Here is an illustrative example, not real data. Ten clients paying $400 a month by card generate $4,000 in monthly revenue. Each charge costs $11.90 to process, so that is $119 a month, or $1,428 a year, on top of the plan. Any platform charging cards has a processing cost, so the useful comparison is the plan price plus any tools you add on top.
What does the real stack cost?
The plan price is only the first line. Depending on how you coach, your Wix setup may also need extra email sends, business email through Google Workspace (billed per mailbox), a branded app, a contract and e-signature tool, and a tool for habits or check-ins. We are deliberately not adding up a total here, because those are separate products with their own prices and we could only verify Wix's. List what you actually need, price each piece, then compare the sum with an all-in-one option such as Coachful (Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients). Coachful's flat plans differ mainly by how many clients they cover, so the plan for 15 clients is the one to check if that is your size today: Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients.

What do public reviewers praise and complain about?
Reviewers mostly praise ease of use and design, and mostly complain about customer support and billing. Wix's Trustpilot score was 3.4 from 29,316 reviews on 28 October 2026. For the content of those reviews, we read a copy of the Trustpilot page archived on 25 March 2026, including Trustpilot's own AI-written summary and the 20 newest reviews at that point. That is a snapshot, not a survey, and we cannot verify individual accounts. Treat the themes as things to check rather than settled facts.
What reviewers praise
- Ease of use. The summary says many people find the platform easy to use for building and managing a site.
- Looking professional without technical skills. Reviewers credit the tools and design options for getting a professional presence online.
- Integrated features and SEO. Some like having business functions in one place, and credit the SEO tools with more site visits.
- A relevant example. One reviewer running a gym's website said updating classes and programs was simple without a technical background.
I find Wix straightforward to use, and the extensive support documentation means you’re never stuck for long.
That quote comes from a five-star Trustpilot review published in March 2026.
What reviewers complain about
- Customer service. The summary cites unhelpful responses, difficulty reaching live support and technical problems left unresolved. Several reviews in the snapshot say the same.
- Renewals and refunds. This was the loudest theme in the March snapshot. The summary mentions auto-renewals and trouble getting refunds or canceling, and several reviewers describe unexpected renewal charges and higher renewal prices.
- Editor friction. A smaller group finds the builder clunky, reports layout instability and slow loading, and one reviewer complains that small desktop changes disturb the mobile layout.
- Leaving. A few reviewers describe leaving as hard, which lines up with the export limits covered below.
super laggy and hard to use, every action I do it takes like 5 seconds to load.
That quote comes from a one-star Trustpilot review published in March 2026. The practical takeaway for an annual buyer: note your renewal date, check the renewal price in advance and read the cancellation terms before you need them.
What are the pros and cons of Wix for coaches?
Wix's pros are cost, flexibility and payment choice. Its cons are the missing coaching layer and the trouble public reviewers report with support and renewals.
| Area | Pros | Cons |
|---|---|---|
| Website | Drag-and-drop editor, many templates, free plan to try it | Some reviewers report clunky editing and mobile layout problems |
| Price | Core at $29 a month billed annually gets you payments and bookings | No free trial of Premium; monthly prices not confirmed on an official page |
| Payments | No listed commission; PayPal, Klarna, Affirm, Apple Pay, Google Pay and in-person options | Light cannot accept payments; PayPal, Klarna and Affirm cost more to process than cards |
| Bookings | Appointments and classes with online payment; packages through Pricing Plans | Booking data lives apart from any coaching record of goals and progress |
| Delivery | Online Programs for courses, programs and challenges | Habits and structured check-ins are not listed features |
| Campaigns and automations connected to your contacts | Monthly send quota; automations count against it | |
| Client app | Spaces by Wix lets members book, join groups and chat | Branded native app is a separate option at a price we could not capture |
| Leaving | Contacts export to CSV, up to 50,000 at a time; collections and products too | Wix says sites cannot be transferred to other platforms and blog posts cannot be exported |
Can you take your data with you if you leave Wix?
Partly. You can export your contacts, CMS collections and store products to CSV, and booking and staff reports from the booking calendar, but the site itself stays behind.
Wix says sites cannot be transferred to other platforms and blog posts cannot be exported. For a coach who has spent years building an audience through a blog, this deserves real thought before you start. Every article would need to be moved by hand and redirected. We wrote a step-by-step guide to moving a coaching website off Wix that covers what to save first.
Who is Wix best for?
Wix is best for coaches whose business fits on a website with a booking button. Here is how we would decide.
Choose Wix if:
- You sell individual sessions or simple packages and deliver them on video calls, with little happening between sessions.
- Design control over every page matters more to you than a built-in client workflow.
- You also run a store, an in-person class business or a site that has nothing to do with coaching.
- Clients need to pay with PayPal, Klarna or Affirm, or you take payments in person.
- You are testing an idea and want to try the editor before paying for anything.
Skip Wix if:
- Your offer is a multi-week program in which daily tasks, habits and check-ins are the product.
- You want every client's goals, notes, sessions and payments in one record.
- You want an agreement signed before the first call as a standard step in your booking flow.
- You are moving toward cohorts and want the group created when someone enrolls.
- You would prefer not to pay for and connect several tools to get one client journey.
How does Coachful differ from Wix?
Coachful starts from the coaching relationship instead of the website. Its website is one part of a platform that also runs the bookings, payments, agreements, programs, community and client app, with one login for you and one branded app for your clients. It is built for coaches who deliver programs and not just sessions, for solo coaches growing into a small team, and for coaches replacing four to six tools.

The short walkthrough below shows how a program is put together in Coachful.
Between-session delivery
This is the largest difference. Coachful runs multi-week programs with weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals with progress bars and streaks. It also includes courses with modules, drip and completion tracking, plus cohort groups created automatically when someone enrolls in a program. On Wix, habits and structured check-ins are not listed features. See how this works for groups on our group coaching software page.

One record per client
Each client record holds goals, check-ins, habits, notes, intake answers, tags, payments, sessions and an AI briefing, with a status of thriving, active, quiet or at risk. You can see who is slipping before a client tells you they want to stop.

Booking and agreements
Booking pages include availability rules, buffers, minimum notice and time-zone detection, with two-way Google, Apple/iCloud and Outlook calendar sync. You can use built-in video or auto-created Zoom, Meet or Teams links, and ask intake questions on booking. Coaching agreements with e-signature go out before the first call and stay on the client record. More detail is on our scheduling page and our coaching contracts page.

Website and marketing
Wix gives you more design freedom and is the better choice for a non-coaching site. Coachful's website builder is section-based, with a blog, custom domain, SEO settings, 30 designed homepage templates and an Import website option. It also includes booking, application, lead-magnet and checkout funnels, email broadcasts and multi-step sequences, a social planner and Instagram automations.

Payments
Coachful takes payments through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account: one-time charges, subscriptions, payment plans, order bumps, coupons, refunds, Apple Pay and Google Pay. There is a 0% Coachful platform fee, and you pay only Stripe or Razorpay processing.
Having it built for you
Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. From Create, you describe what you want built, and the Coachful team builds it inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours. That can be a website, funnel, sales page, program, course outline, email sequence and more. You can attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files. Nothing gets invented: no fake credentials, testimonials or prices, and any gaps are left for you to fill. It does not include recording videos, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing. One recent build: a leadership coach with a Squarespace renewal days away got one clean homepage with a repeated "talk with me" button. Read more about the white-glove service.

What Coachful does not do
Coachful is not the right tool for everyone, and some of these points are places where Wix wins:
- No PayPal, and no permanent free plan.
- It is not a general website builder for non-coaching sites, and there are no third-party plugins.
- The client app ships under the Coachful listing with your branding, not in your own App Store account.
- It is not HIPAA-certified, offers no BAA, and is not for clinical record-keeping or insurance billing. Coaching is not medical care, so clinical records belong in a clinical system.
- Its public track record is smaller than Wix's: Trustpilot 4.5 from 21 reviews, against tens of thousands for Wix. That sample is too small to carry much weight on its own.
To start, take a free trial, ask the team to build your site or first program through the white-glove service, and have your clients, programs and content imported during onboarding. New coaches can see what to set up first on our page for new coaches, and those with an existing practice can read the page for established coaches.
What are the best alternatives to Wix for coaches?
Coachful is our pick for coaches delivering programs, and the right alternative otherwise depends on what you are trying to fix. We rank by one login for the whole client journey, between-session delivery, total stack cost and setup effort. Prices and ratings are as listed in October 2026, and Coachful's review count is small. For the longer list, see our guide to Wix alternatives for coaches, and our comparison hub and reviews page for more.
| Tool | Best for | Starting price | Booking | Habits and check-ins | Trustpilot |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | Coaches delivering programs who want one platform | Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients | Built in | Built in | 4.5 from 21 reviews |
| Wix | A flexible website with booking attached | $0, then $17 a month billed annually; payments from $29 | Wix Bookings from Core | Not listed | 3.4 from 29,316 reviews |
| Squarespace | Design-led sites | $19 a month billed annually, $25 monthly | Through Acuity, a separate subscription | Not confirmed | 3.5 from 6,313 reviews |
| WordPress.com | Content-heavy sites using plugins | $0, then $4 a month billed annually, $9 monthly | Through plugins | Not confirmed | 3.8 from 4,204 reviews |
| Kajabi | Selling courses and communities | $143 a month billed annually, $179 monthly | Not confirmed | No | 3.4 from 2,347 reviews |
| Systeme.io | Low-cost funnels and email | $0, then $17 a month | No native 1:1 scheduling with client records (older data) | No (older data) | 4.9 from 8,696 reviews |
Squarespace
Squarespace is the closest like-for-like swap for a coach who wants a polished site. It has a 14-day free trial, which Wix's Premium plans do not, but no free plan. Online booking needs Acuity Scheduling, a separate subscription at $16 to $55 a month billed annually. Digital content and memberships carry a Squarespace fee of 7%, 5%, 1% or 0% depending on the plan. Our Squarespace vs Wix comparison goes deeper. Pick it over Coachful if a design-led site is the main thing you need and client delivery happens elsewhere.

WordPress.com
WordPress.com suits coaches who write a lot. Booking, courses and memberships come from plugins, which you can install on any paid plan from Personal. Its fee on paid subscriptions and payments runs from 10% on Free down to 0% on Commerce. See Wix vs WordPress for the trade-offs. Pick it over Coachful if content is your main channel and you are happy to manage plugins.

Kajabi
Kajabi is a course, community, website, funnel and email platform with a much higher starting price: $143 a month billed annually, or $179 monthly, for 5 products and 2,500 contacts. Coaching there is run through products and communities instead of per-client plans, and it has no habit tracking or daily check-ins. See Kajabi vs Wix. Pick it over Coachful if selling courses to a large audience is your whole business.

Systeme.io
Systeme.io is a low-cost marketing suite with funnels, email, courses, community and a blog. It has a free plan that never expires and lists 0% transaction fees on all plans, with paid plans from $17 a month. Older information we hold shows no native 1:1 scheduling with client records and no habits or check-ins, so confirm that if it matters to you. Read our Systeme.io review. Pick it over Coachful if your first need is funnels and email on the smallest possible budget.

If you are weighing dedicated practice tools, our reviews of Practice Better and Simply.Coach cover two other options. Readers mainly hoping to make the site look distinctive can also read Showit vs Wix, and those who need only one page can read Carrd vs Wix.
So is Wix worth it for coaches?
Yes, if a website with booking is what you need. No, if your clients are paying for a program you deliver between sessions.
Wix earns its place as a flexible, broad and inexpensive builder, and it has payment options that Coachful does not offer. Keep its limits clear when you decide. Core at $29 a month billed annually is the practical starting point, Light cannot take payments, Premium has no free trial and the site does not move with you if you leave. Reviewers' billing and support complaints are also common enough that you should read the renewal terms early.
For coaches running programs, we recommend Coachful because the delivery layer, the client record and the agreement step are already there. The website is part of the same login, and the team can build it for you. Compare it with your full Wix stack rather than only the plan price. Entry plan: Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients. Coaches with no client limit in mind can check the unlimited plan as well: Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients.
Frequently asked questions about Wix for coaches
Is Wix good for coaches?
Wix is good for coaches who mainly need a website with booking and payment. It is a weaker fit for coaches running programs, because habit tracking and structured check-ins are not listed features. You would need forms, program steps or third-party apps to fill that gap.
How much does Wix cost per month?
As listed in October 2026, paid plans run $17, $29, $39 and $159 a month when billed annually, and there is a free plan with Wix branding. Prices and currency vary by location, and taxes are extra. We could not confirm monthly-billing prices on an official Wix page.
Which Wix plan does a coach need?
Core is the practical minimum, because it is the cheapest plan with both payments and Wix Bookings. Light costs less but cannot accept payments. Consider Business if you need the larger Standard marketing suite.
Does Wix have a free trial?
No. Wix states that it does not offer a free trial of Premium plans. You can use the free plan to try the editor, and the initial upgrade to a Premium plan has a 14-day money-back guarantee.
Does Wix take a commission on coaching sales?
The plans page lists no Wix commission on sales, but processing applies. In the US, Wix Payments charges 2.9% + $0.30 per online card transaction, from 3.49% + $0.49 for PayPal, and 6% + $0.30 for Klarna and Affirm, plus a $15 chargeback fee.
Can I run a coaching program on Wix?
Yes, in a limited way. The Online Programs app runs step-by-step courses, programs and challenges, and Pricing Plans can sell memberships or packages that include them. It suits structured content better than individual accountability, since tracking each client's habits and check-ins is not a listed feature.
Why is Wix's Trustpilot rating 3.4?
We can only report what reviewers say. Trustpilot showed 3.4 from 29,316 reviews on 28 October 2026. A March 2026 copy of the page showed praise for ease of use and design, alongside complaints about support access, auto-renewals, refunds and some editor problems.
Can I move my Wix site to another platform?
Not directly. Wix says sites cannot be transferred to other platforms and blog posts cannot be exported, though contacts, collections and products export to CSV. Plan to rebuild the site, move articles by hand and set up redirects, as our migration guide explains.
What is Coachful's free white-glove service?
You describe what you want built, such as a website, funnel, program or email sequence, and attach your references. The Coachful team builds it inside your account, usually within about 24 hours, and leaves gaps for you instead of inventing details. It is free on every plan, and it does not cover video recording, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing.
Is Coachful better than Wix for every coach?
No. Wix suits coaches who want deep design control, a non-coaching site, in-person payments or PayPal, Klarna and Affirm at checkout. Coachful suits coaches whose value comes from delivery between sessions and who want the client journey under one login. Current plans: Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients.
