Flodesk vs Kajabi for Coaches: 2026 Prices and Verdict

Flodesk vs Kajabi for Coaches: 2026 Prices and Verdict

Flodesk vs Kajabi is not really a fight between two equals. Flodesk is a design-led email marketing tool with forms, landing pages and a simple checkout, priced from $25 a month for up to 1,000 subscribers. Kajabi is a course, community, website and funnel platform for selling knowledge products, priced from $179 a month. If you only need beautiful emails and a lead magnet, Flodesk is the cheaper, simpler pick. If you sell courses and memberships at volume, Kajabi does far more. Neither one runs the coaching itself: booking, contracts, check-ins, habits and per-client programs.

That gap is why this comparison ends with a third option. We make Coachful, a coaching platform that puts email, funnels, courses, booking, payments and client delivery behind one login, so we will tell you plainly where it beats both and where it does not. Prices below are as listed in October 2026.

What is the short answer by use case?

Pick by the job you need done most often, not by the longest feature list. Here is how the choice usually falls for coaches.

  • You are building a list and sending a weekly newsletter: Flodesk. Its templates are its strongest feature, and the Lite plan covers unlimited sends to up to 1,000 subscribers for $25 a month ($19 billed annually).
  • You sell a self-paced course, membership or community to hundreds of buyers: Kajabi. It hosts the product, the community and the sales funnel in one place.
  • You coach clients 1:1 or in cohorts and want them to do the work between sessions: neither. You would bolt a booking tool, a contract tool and a client portal onto either one. That is the case for Coachful.
  • You want the lowest possible monthly bill for marketing only: Flodesk, by a wide margin.
  • You want one platform to grow into a team: Kajabi caps admin users by plan (2, 11, 26); Coachful adds coach seats on team plans.

If you want the deeper single-vendor views first, read our Flodesk review and our breakdown of Kajabi pricing.

How do Flodesk and Kajabi compare side by side?

Flodesk is a marketing tool; Kajabi is a product-selling platform; Coachful is a coaching platform. We ranked the three on what decides most coaching businesses: one login for the whole client journey, delivery between sessions, total stack cost, and setup effort (including Coachful's free white-glove build).

PlatformBest forEmail marketingCourses and communityBooking and client deliveryEntry price
CoachfulCoaches who deliver programs, not just sessionsLists, broadcasts, multi-step sequences with branching and A/B splitsCourses with drip, community feed, group chat, cohort groupsBooking, calendar sync, contracts, habits, check-ins, client appLite: $29/month for up to 5 clients

FlodeskDesign-led newsletters and simple sales pagesUnlimited sends on paid plans; workflows from ProNo courses portal or communityNo scheduling, client records or check-ins$25/mo for up to 1,000 subscribers ($19/mo billed annually)

The first row is the one we would start most working coaches on, because it removes the tools you would otherwise have to buy alongside either of the other two. The rest of this article explains the trade-offs in detail.

How does Flodesk vs Kajabi pricing compare?

Flodesk is much cheaper at small list sizes, but its price climbs with active subscribers, while Kajabi charges a high flat fee with hard caps on contacts and products. Here are the published plans, as listed in October 2026.

Flodesk pricing page with Free, Lite, Pro and Everything plans
Flodesk's pricing page in October 2026.

Flodesk moved to subscriber-based pricing for new members on December 2, 2025; existing members keep the old flat-rate plan. Every paid tier starts at a base price for up to 1,000 active subscribers and rises as your list grows. Pro at the top of its slider reaches about $1,589 a month on monthly billing, so a large list changes the maths completely. Only active subscribers count.

Kajabi's plans are flat, but each one caps contacts, products, communities and admin users. Extra contacts cost $125 a month per 25,000. Kajabi offers a 30-day money-back guarantee on every plan.

Kajabi Pro$499$399Unlimited products, 100,000 contacts, 3 communities, 26 admin users, 1,000 AI credits

What do payment fees look like?

Payment fees matter as much as the plan price once you sell anything. The two tools take very different approaches.

PlatformPlatform fee on salesCard processingProcessors
Coachful0% platform fee (since August 2026)Your own Stripe or Razorpay rates onlyStripe Connect or Razorpay; Apple Pay and Google Pay; no PayPal

Note one hidden cost on Flodesk: checkouts only arrive with the Everything plan (Pro includes a single checkout as a limited-time bonus). If you sell a program through Flodesk, budget for Everything, not Lite.

What does a realistic monthly stack cost?

A coach rarely uses either tool alone. Here is an illustrative example for a coach with about 1,000 subscribers, 15 active clients and one small course, using published list prices on monthly billing:

  • Flodesk route: Flodesk Everything at $54, plus a course platform (Thinkific Start lists at $109 a month), plus a booking tool, a contract and e-signature tool and somewhere for clients to track progress. That is $163 a month before the last three tools.
  • Kajabi route: Kajabi Basic at $179 covers email, the course and a community, but you still add a booking tool, contracts and a way to run habits and check-ins with each client.
  • Coachful route: one membership covers email, funnels, the course, booking, contracts, payments and the client app (Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients).

These are example stacks, not quotes. Plug in your own list size and tools. Our guides to Flodesk pricing and Kajabi pricing walk through the larger tiers.

Which is better for email marketing?

Flodesk is the more focused email tool and is easier to make look good; Kajabi's email is capable but is one feature among many. For a coach whose business is mostly the newsletter, Flodesk wins on this section.

Flodesk's appeal is design. Its templates, forms, landing pages and link-in-bio pages are all unlimited, even on the Free plan, though the Free plan cannot send email. Lite unlocks unlimited sends and email analytics, with one workflow as a limited-time bonus. Pro adds unlimited workflows, advanced analytics and removal of the Flodesk footer. Segmentation is included at every level. A dedicated IP is an add-on on Pro and Everything, with no price shown.

Kajabi includes unlimited marketing emails, funnels and landing pages on every plan. The constraint is contacts: Basic stops at 2,500, which a coach running regular lead magnets can reach quickly, and the jump to Growth is $70 a month on monthly billing. Kajabi's trial locks bulk contact import, test emails and some automations until a paid plan is active, so you cannot fully test your migration on the trial.

Whichever you choose, the same rules apply to commercial email: a working unsubscribe link, an accurate sender and a physical postal address. The US Federal Trade Commission's CAN-SPAM compliance guide is the plain-language reference.

Coachful's email covers lists, broadcasts and multi-step sequences with triggers, delays, branching and A/B splits, and the contacts are the same records as your leads and clients. Here is a walkthrough:

Which handles funnels, sales pages and checkout better?

Kajabi is the stronger funnel builder; Flodesk's checkout is simple and only arrives on its top plan. If your income depends on launches, Kajabi is built for that work.

Flodesk Everything gives you unlimited checkouts, sales pages and funnels, subscriptions and payment plans, and abandoned-cart automations. That is a lot for $54 a month, and for a coach selling one program or a low-ticket digital product it may be enough. The limits are geography (checkout only in the countries listed above) and depth: there is no course hosting, member area or community to deliver what you sell.

Kajabi homepage hero section
Kajabi's homepage in October 2026.

Kajabi has unlimited funnels and landing pages on every plan, plus checkout tied directly to its course, community and membership products. Growth adds automation and an affiliate program. Because the product and the funnel live together, a buyer can pay and land inside the course without any connecting tool.

Coachful has booking, application, lead-magnet and checkout funnels with pixels and UTM tracking, a link-in-bio page that sells, and about 25 funnel templates. Payments support one-time, subscriptions, payment plans, order bumps, coupons and refunds. The difference from both: a funnel can end in a booked session or a program enrollment, not only a purchase. Our Coachful vs Kajabi funnels and email comparison goes deeper.

Which is better for courses and community?

Kajabi, clearly, because Flodesk has no courses portal or community at all. This is the section where the two tools barely overlap.

Kajabi hosts courses, communities and memberships. Basic allows 5 products and 1 community; Growth 50 products; Pro unlimited products and 3 communities. The branded mobile app appears in Kajabi's October 2026 comparison table only on Pro. If you plan to sell a library of courses to a large audience, Kajabi is designed for it.

With Flodesk, a course would need a separate platform, and members would log in somewhere you do not control from your email tool. Some coaches deliver a simple email course through Flodesk workflows, which works for short sequences but gives no completion tracking.

Coachful includes courses with modules, lessons, drip and completion tracking, plus downloads, videos, books, AI tools, events and bundles, all delivered into the client's branded home and app. There are 48 course templates with quizzes. The community side has a feed, group chat, direct messages, video events, and cohort groups created automatically when someone enrolls in a program. Coachful is not a course marketplace, so if discoverability on a marketplace matters to you, neither Coachful nor Kajabi provides it.

If audio or video courses are central to your offer, our guide on delivering audio courses without Kajabi and our course platform for coaches page cover the setup.

Can either one run 1:1 coaching?

Not on its own. Flodesk documents no scheduling, client records, check-ins or courses portal, and Kajabi treats coaching as a product or community rather than a per-client plan with habits and daily check-ins.

That matters because most of the work in a coaching business happens between the sale and the result. A coach needs to book the call, send the agreement, take payment, set this week's goals, see who has gone quiet and prepare for the next session. With Flodesk, every one of those steps sits in another tool. With Kajabi, the course and community are covered, but the individual client's plan is not.

Here is what that list looks like inside Coachful:

  • Booking: pages with availability rules, buffers, minimum notice and time-zone detection; two-way Google, Apple/iCloud and Outlook sync; built-in video or auto-created Zoom, Meet or Teams links; reminders by email, plus SMS and WhatsApp once messaging is enabled.
  • Agreements: coaching agreements with e-signature, sent before the first call and stored on the client record.
  • Programs: multi-week programs with weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals with progress bars and streaks.
  • Client record: goals, check-ins, habits, notes, intake answers, tags, payments and sessions, with a status of thriving, active, quiet or at risk, and an AI briefing per client.
  • ICF hours: credential tracking that counts coaching hours and distinct clients against ACC, PCC and MCC thresholds.

Which one looks like you?

Coachful builds your coaching website from a few answers, in a design chosen for your niche, with programs, booking and payments ready behind it.

Build your platform

What is the client experience like on each?

On Flodesk, the client sees your emails and pages, beautifully designed, and nothing more. On Kajabi, they get a course and community area. On Coachful, they get one branded home for sessions, programs, habits, courses and community.

Think about a client in week three of a 12-week program. With a Flodesk-based stack, they get your Tuesday email, book through a separate scheduler, open a shared document for homework and message you on another app. Each tool may work well, but the client is the one stitching it together. With Kajabi, the lessons and the community thread are in one place, and they still book and track their personal goals elsewhere.

In Coachful, the same client opens your branded app and sees the next session, their program for the week, today's habits and check-in, the course lesson and the community feed. The app ships under the Coachful listing with your branding, not under your own App Store account; if your own store listing matters, Kajabi Pro's branded app is the comparison to make.

Public reviews give a rough sense of how users feel about each company, though they mix coaches with every other kind of customer. As listed in October 2026, Flodesk holds 4.8 on Trustpilot from 321 reviews and Kajabi 3.4 from 2,347 reviews. Coachful holds 4.5 from 21 reviews, a much smaller sample.

What about websites, AI and data export?

Kajabi gives you a full website; Flodesk gives you landing pages and link-in-bio pages; both are fine for a simple online presence. Data export and AI are where the details differ.

Website. Kajabi includes one website on Basic and Growth and three on Pro. Flodesk's unlimited landing pages and link-in-bio pages can stand in for a small site, but there is no multi-page site builder with a blog. Coachful has a section-based website builder with a blog, custom domain, SEO settings, 30 designed homepage templates and an Import website option. See our coach website builder page.

AI. Kajabi includes 0 AI credits on Basic, 500 on Growth and 1,000 on Pro, with a top-up of $15 for 500 credits marked as coming. Coachful's assistant, Michelle, works from your live practice data: it builds programs, drafts emails and content, summarizes recorded sessions and briefs you before sessions. Questions and planning are included in your Coachful membership; confirmed builds and changes use AI credits. More on our AI coaching assistant page.

Data export. Flodesk does not document data export on the pages we checked. Kajabi offers emailed CSV exports for contacts, subscriptions, sales and members, while course content is downloaded manually per asset; an older profile notes data is removed 90 days after cancellation. Coachful exports full client data as a ZIP (roster, notes, check-ins, goals, habits, sessions, form responses), plus course export.

Which should you pick for which kind of coach?

Match the tool to how you earn. Here is how we would steer common coaching businesses.

Choose Flodesk if email is your main channel, your list is under a few thousand people and someone else (or nothing) handles the coaching.

Choose Kajabi if your business is mainly courses and memberships, you can carry $179 or more a month, and your 1:1 work is small or handled elsewhere.

Choose Coachful if your revenue comes from coaching clients through a program, and you are tired of paying for and connecting four to six tools. Niche coaches can start from our life coach page, business coach page or fitness and nutrition pack.

Is Coachful the third option that beats both?

For coaches who deliver programs, yes: Coachful replaces Flodesk's email and Kajabi's courses and adds the coaching layer neither has. For a pure newsletter or a large course catalog sold to strangers, one of the other two can still be the better fit.

Coachful's client program view on a laptop next to its funnels list on a tablet
Coachful's client program view on a laptop beside the funnels list on a tablet, next to a stack of cream envelopes.

What Coachful is. A coaching platform. One subscription covers booking, payments, contracts, program delivery with habits and check-ins, courses, a community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant, with one login for you and one branded app for your clients. It is built for coaches who deliver programs, solo coaches growing into a small team, and coaches replacing four to six tools. The company is based in Tallinn, Estonia.

Where it beats Flodesk. Flodesk sends the email; Coachful sends the email and then runs what happens after someone says yes. Sequences can branch on what a contact does, and that contact is also the client who books, signs and checks in. You also get courses, community and a full website, which Flodesk does not offer.

Where it beats Kajabi. Coachful takes a 0% platform fee and lets you use your own Stripe or Razorpay account with no surcharge, while Kajabi adds 0.5% to 2% when you use a provider other than Kajabi Payments or PayPal. Coachful adds per-client programs, habits, check-ins, booking with calendar sync, e-signed agreements and ICF hour tracking.

Where it does not beat them. Be honest with yourself about these:

  • No PayPal. If many of your buyers pay by PayPal, Kajabi supports it.
  • No permanent free plan. Flodesk's Free plan lets you collect subscribers for nothing (you just cannot send).
  • No app in your own App Store account. Kajabi Pro lists a branded app.
  • Not a course marketplace and no third-party plugins.
  • Not HIPAA-certified; clinical records belong in a clinical system.
  • Affiliate tracking covers links, clicks, conversions and revenue, but payouts are recorded manually.
  • Smaller public review base: 21 Trustpilot reviews against thousands for Kajabi.

Coachful also connects to Instagram. Comment automations can send a booking link, lead magnet or checkout by DM when someone comments a keyword, and the person lands in the same lead and client records. The social planner schedules posts to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Threads and YouTube from one calendar.

Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. You do not have to rebuild your Flodesk templates or Kajabi pages yourself. From Create, choose "We'll build it for you" and describe what you need: a website, funnel, sales page, program, course outline, email sequence, link in bio or something else. Attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files (logos, photos, brand guides, copy). The Coachful team builds it inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours. Nothing is invented: no fake credentials, testimonials or prices, and gaps are left for you to fill. It does not include recording videos, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing. A somatic coach leaving Kajabi, for example, had the homepage and About page rebuilt and the contact form connected. Read more about the free white-glove service.

How do you switch from Flodesk or Kajabi?

Export what you can, move your list first, and rebuild the client-facing pieces last. The order matters because your email list is the asset that keeps earning while you move.

  1. Export contacts. Kajabi emails CSV exports for contacts, subscriptions, sales and members. For Flodesk, check its help center for current export steps, since the pages we checked do not document them.
  2. Save course content. Kajabi course assets are downloaded manually, one at a time, so start early. Keep in mind the older note that data is removed 90 days after cancellation.
  3. Keep payments running. Active subscriptions are tied to the processor. Plan how you will move recurring buyers before cancelling anything.
  4. Rebuild pages. In Coachful, the white-glove team can rebuild your site, funnel or sales page from links to the current versions.
  5. Re-confirm consent. Only import contacts who agreed to hear from you, and keep unsubscribe handling in place.

Frequently asked questions

Is Flodesk or Kajabi better for coaches?

Flodesk is better for coaches who mainly need beautiful, affordable email. Kajabi is better for coaches who sell courses and memberships at scale. Neither handles 1:1 coaching delivery such as booking, contracts, habits or check-ins, so coaches running programs often prefer an all-in-one coaching platform like Coachful.

Can I use Flodesk and Kajabi together?

Yes, some creators send email from Flodesk and sell courses on Kajabi. You then pay for two subscriptions, keep two contact lists in sync and still lack booking and client tracking. Kajabi already includes unlimited marketing emails, so check whether Flodesk's design advantage is worth the extra bill.

How much does Flodesk cost compared with Kajabi?

As listed in October 2026, Flodesk paid plans start at $25 a month (Lite) for up to 1,000 subscribers, $28 for Pro and $54 for Everything, with prices rising as your list grows. Kajabi starts at $179 a month for Basic, $249 for Growth and $499 for Pro, with lower annual rates.

Does Flodesk have a free plan?

Yes, but it cannot send email. The Free plan includes unlimited forms, landing pages, link-in-bio pages, templates and segmentation, so you can collect subscribers. There is also a 14-day trial of paid features with no credit card required.

Does Kajabi have a free trial?

Kajabi's help center lists a standard 14-day trial. A card is optional; if you enter one, Kajabi places an authorization hold and charges on the day the trial ends. Bulk contact import, test emails and some automations stay locked until a paid plan is active.

Which charges higher payment fees?

Flodesk Checkout via Stripe Express charges 3% + $0.30 in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Kajabi Payments in the US charges 2.7% to 2.9% + $0.30 depending on plan, and adds a 0.5% to 2% Kajabi fee if you use a provider other than Kajabi Payments or PayPal.

Can Flodesk host a course or community?

No. Flodesk has no courses portal or community. You can drip a short email course through workflows on Pro or Everything, but there is no member area or completion tracking.

What is Coachful's free white-glove service?

It is a done-for-you build included on every Coachful plan. You describe what you want (a website, funnel, program, course outline, email sequence and more), attach links and files, and the Coachful team builds it inside your account, usually within about 24 hours. It does not include recording videos, logo design or ad management.

Is Coachful a good replacement for both Flodesk and Kajabi?

For coaches who deliver programs, it can replace both: email sequences, funnels, a website, courses and community sit next to booking, contracts, payments, habits and check-ins. It is a weaker fit if you need PayPal, an app in your own App Store account or a free plan forever.

Is Coachful suitable for health or therapy practices?

Coachful suits health and wellness coaching, which is not medical treatment. It is not HIPAA-certified and does not sign a BAA, so clinical records and insurance billing belong in a clinical system, and clients with medical concerns should be referred to a qualified professional.
