Everfit vs PT Distinction (2026): Pricing, Features, Verdict

Everfit vs PT Distinction (2026): Pricing, Features, Verdict

Everfit vs PT Distinction comes down to one trade. Everfit is the cheaper way to start, with a free plan for up to 5 clients and low per-client tiers, but automation, payments and meal plans are paid add-ons. PT Distinction costs more at small client counts, yet its pricing page lists automated workflows, payments, nutrition coaching and AI program building on every plan, and its Pro plan adds your own branded app. If you train fewer than about 8 clients and want to spend nothing, Everfit wins. If you run 20 to 50 clients and want everything in one bill, PT Distinction usually works out cheaper and simpler.

We make Coachful, a coaching platform, so we have a stake in this comparison. We have kept the vendor facts to what Everfit and PT Distinction publish on their own pricing pages (as listed in October 2026) and what public reviewers report, and we have not claimed hands-on testing. Coachful comes in as a third option near the end, with an honest account of when it beats both and when it does not.

What is the short answer by use case?

Pick by the shape of your business, not by the feature count. Both tools are built for online personal trainers who deliver workouts and nutrition through an app; they differ mainly in how they charge and what sits behind a paywall.

  • Brand new trainer, under 5 clients, no budget: Everfit's free Starter plan. It covers the exercise library, workout builder, progress photos, tasks and messaging.
  • Trainer with 10 to 25 clients who wants a branded app: PT Distinction Pro. Its listed price includes 25 clients and your own custom-branded iOS and Android apps.
  • Trainer with 50 clients who wants automation and payments included: PT Distinction Master, which includes 50 clients and the full feature list.
  • Studio running group training and on-demand content: Everfit Studio, which adds group chat, broadcast messages and an on-demand training portal.
  • Coach who sells programs, courses, a community and runs their own website and funnels: neither tool shows those on its pricing page. That is where a broader platform such as Coachful fits.

If you only read one section, read the pricing table below. Most coaches end up choosing between these two on total monthly cost at their real client count, and the answer flips depending on where that count sits.

How do Everfit and PT Distinction compare side by side?

Everfit leads on entry price and group features; PT Distinction leads on what is bundled into every plan. Our ranking criteria, in one line: one login for the whole client journey, between-session delivery, total stack cost, and setup effort (including whether someone will build it for you).

Ratings are a weak signal here but worth knowing. On Trustpilot in October 2026, PT Distinction showed 4.8 from 297 reviews and Everfit showed 2.7 from 16 reviews. Everfit's review base is small, so a few unhappy reviewers move the score a lot. Coachful showed 4.5 from 21 reviews.

For a deeper look at either tool on its own, see our Everfit review and the list of Everfit alternatives.

How does Everfit vs PT Distinction pricing compare?

Everfit is cheaper at almost every client count on its base plan, but PT Distinction often wins once you add the features Everfit sells separately. The two vendors price in opposite ways: Everfit charges by client tier and sells features as add-ons, while PT Distinction charges for a bundle of included clients and then a per-client overage.

Everfit pricing page with Starter, Pro, Studio and Enterprise plans
Everfit's pricing page in October 2026.

Everfit's tiers, as listed in October 2026: Starter is free for up to 5 clients. Pro starts at $19 per month for 5 clients and scales by client count: 10 clients $29, 20 clients $49, 50 clients $95, 100 clients $140 and 300 clients $290. The page also shows a lower second figure on each tier ($16, $24, $41, $79, $117, $242), which reads as the annual-billing rate, though the page does not label it explicitly. Studio starts at $105 per month for 50 clients and runs to $430 for 500. Enterprise, for 500+ clients, is quoted.

PT Distinction pricing page with Basic, Pro and Master plans
PT Distinction's pricing page in October 2026.

PT Distinction's plans, as listed in October 2026 and billed monthly in USD with no annual pricing shown: Basic is $19.90 per month with 3 clients included and $6.00 per month for each extra client after one free month. Pro is $59.90 with 25 clients included and $2.40 per extra client. Master is $89.90 with 50 clients included and $1.60 per extra client.

Monthly cost at real client counts

The table below uses each vendor's cheapest monthly option at each client count, before add-ons. PT Distinction figures use the listed overage; Everfit figures use the monthly rate with the lower annual-looking figure in brackets.

Everfit (base plan only)$0 (Starter) or $19 ($16) on Pro$29 ($24)$49 ($41)$95 ($79)$140 ($117)

On base price alone, Everfit is cheaper at every count shown except 50 clients, where PT Distinction Master edges it. That changes once you price what a working online PT business usually needs.

What Everfit's add-ons do to the total

Everfit lists four add-ons on its pricing page in October 2026: Autoflow automation from $29 per month for the first 30 active clients (then tiered), On-Demand Collections from $25 per month (included in Studio), Payments and Packages from $9 per month, and Meal Plans and Recipe Books from $39 per month.

As an example, a trainer with 20 clients on Everfit Pro who wants automated check-in sequences, in-app payments and meal plans would pay $49 + $29 + $9 + $39 = $126 per month at the starting add-on prices. On PT Distinction Pro the same trainer pays $59.90, because the pricing page lists automated workflows, nutrition coaching and selling packages with payments in the full feature list on every plan, and Pro adds a branded app. Your own number depends on which add-ons you actually use; a trainer who only needs workouts and messaging would pay $49 on Everfit and should stay there.

Trials and free plans

Everfit offers a 30-day free trial with no contract and no credit card, and Starter stays free forever for 5 clients. PT Distinction offers a one-month free trial ("Cancel at any time in your first month and pay nothing"); its page does not say whether a card is required. PT Distinction has no free plan.

Neither pricing page shows a transaction fee or names the payment processor. Ask each vendor before you commit, and remember your card processor will charge its own fees either way. For a full breakdown of Everfit's tiers and add-ons, see Everfit pricing in 2026.

How do the workout and program builders compare?

Both tools are built around workout programming, and on paper both cover what an online PT needs to write and assign training. The difference is how far each pushes into AI and templates.

Everfit's free Starter plan already includes the exercise library and workout builder, which is generous for a new trainer. The Pro plan adds an advanced program builder, and the pricing page lists AI Smart Response on Pro. If you want a library of ready-made training content clients can browse on their own, Everfit's On-Demand Collections add-on (included in Studio) and the Studio on-demand training portal handle that.

PT Distinction lists an AI Program Builder and an AI Assistant in the full feature list on every plan, including Basic. That is unusual at a $19.90 starting price, and it matters most to trainers writing many individualized programs each week.

What we cannot tell you from the pricing pages is how each builder feels in daily use: how fast it is to duplicate a block, how supersets display on the client's phone, or how well the AI output matches your style. Both offer a free month, so build one real client program in each during the trial and time it.

Which is better for nutrition coaching?

PT Distinction bundles nutrition; Everfit splits it between Pro and a paid add-on. If nutrition is central to how you coach, that difference is worth real money each month.

On Everfit, Pro includes a food journal with macros and basic meal plans. Full meal plans and recipe books sit in the Meal Plans and Recipe Books add-on, from $39 per month as listed in October 2026. On PT Distinction, nutrition coaching appears in the full feature list on every plan, including Basic.

A scope reminder that applies whichever tool you choose: fitness and nutrition coaching is not medical care. Clients who report chest pain, fainting, uncontrolled blood pressure, diabetes on medication, pregnancy, a recent injury or surgery, or a history of disordered eating should get clearance from a doctor or work with a registered dietitian before you prescribe training or calorie targets. Neither an app nor a coaching platform replaces that referral.

How do automation, messaging and check-ins compare?

PT Distinction includes automation on every plan; Everfit sells it as Autoflow. For a trainer whose week is mostly answering the same check-in questions, this is the single biggest functional difference.

Everfit's Starter plan includes inbox messaging and tasks. Pro adds habit coaching and forms. Studio adds group chat and broadcast messages. Automated sequences (for example, a welcome series, weekly check-in prompts or a reminder when a client misses a workout) come from Autoflow, priced from $29 per month for the first 30 active clients and tiered after that.

PT Distinction lists scheduled email and SMS plus automated workflows in the full feature list on all three plans. If your business runs on automated nudges, PT Distinction's bundle removes a whole line from your bill.

Habit tracking matters more than many trainers expect, because most client drop-off happens between workouts, not during them. Everfit puts habit coaching on Pro; PT Distinction's pricing page does not list habits by name, so confirm during the trial how habits and daily check-ins appear to the client.

Which has the better client app and branding?

PT Distinction gives you your own app sooner; Everfit gives you a free app sooner. Which matters more depends on whether brand presence or cost is your constraint right now.

Both tools ship client and coach apps on iOS and Android. On PT Distinction Basic, clients use the PT Distinction-branded app. From Pro ($59.90 per month), PT Distinction lists your own custom-branded Android and iOS apps plus website integration. That is a strong offer at that price.

Everfit lists custom branding on Pro; ask during the trial exactly what that changes in the client app. Everfit lists white-label options, API integrations and Apple and Google developer support on Enterprise (500+ clients, quoted), which is where a fully separate app store listing sits.

If having your own name in the App Store is a selling point for your clients, PT Distinction Pro is the cheaper route between these two.

How do booking, payments and selling compare?

Everfit includes booking on Pro and sells payments as an add-on; PT Distinction includes selling packages and taking payments but does not list booking on its pricing page. Neither shows a course builder, website builder, funnels or email marketing.

Everfit's Pro plan lists booking and scheduling. Payments and Packages is an add-on from $9 per month. PT Distinction's full feature list includes "sell packages and take payments" on every plan. Neither page states which processor runs payments or whether a platform fee applies.

This is the gap most online trainers eventually hit. A PT app delivers the training, but the business around it (a website, a sales page, a lead magnet, an email list, a booking page for discovery calls, an agreement the client signs) usually lives in four or five other tools. If that stack is already costing you more than the app itself, read our breakdowns of Calendly pricing and GoHighLevel pricing before you add another subscription.

What is the client experience like in each?

For the client, both tools center on opening an app, seeing today's workout, logging it and messaging the coach. The difference shows up in what else the client can do between sessions.

Everfit's homepage in October 2026.

Everfit's client app, per its pricing page, covers workouts, metrics and progress photos, tasks and messaging on the free plan. On Pro, clients also get habits, forms, a food journal with macros and access to community forums. On Studio, they can join group chats and browse an on-demand training portal. That is a strong between-session experience for group training businesses.

PT Distinction's client experience centers on programs, nutrition, check-ins and automated messages from the coach, in the PT Distinction app on Basic or the coach's own branded app from Pro. A course area, community feed or website hub for the client is not shown on the pricing page.

A practical test during your trial: invite a friend as a client, assign one week of training and nutrition, and ask them which app they would open without being reminded. That answer predicts retention better than any feature list.

Which should you pick for which kind of coach?

Choose Everfit if you want to start free or run group programs; choose PT Distinction if you want automation, payments and a branded app in one predictable bill. Here is the decision by profile.

What is the third option, and when does Coachful beat both?

Coachful beats both when you coach more than workouts: when you sell programs, sessions, courses and a community, and want your website, funnels, booking, payments and client app under one login. It does not beat them when you are a pure online PT who only needs programming and macro tracking at the lowest possible price.

What does it cost against Everfit plus add-ons?

Coachful sells flat monthly plans. Lower plans cap the number of clients, Pro is unlimited, team plans add coach seats, and monthly plans cancel in one click (current plans: Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients). The fair comparison is not one app against another; it is Coachful against the PT app plus the booking tool, website builder, email platform, course host and e-signature tool you would otherwise pay for. For a trainer with 20 clients, the Coachful figure is Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients. Compare that with the example Everfit total above, which still excludes those other tools.

When Coachful does not beat them

  • You only want programming and macros at the lowest price. Everfit's free Starter or $49 Pro at 20 clients is hard to beat if you will never run a website, course or community through your coaching software.
  • You want your own App Store listing. Coachful's client app ships under the Coachful listing with your branding. PT Distinction Pro lists your own custom-branded apps.
  • You rely on wearables. Coachful has no Garmin, Fitbit, Whoop or Oura sync, and Apple Health sync is not publicly available.
  • You want stock exercise videos. Coachful's library uses illustrated exercises and you attach your own demo videos.
  • You need PayPal or a permanent free plan. Coachful has neither; there is a free trial.
  • You handle clinical records. Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and offers no BAA. Clinical notes and insurance billing belong in a clinical system.

How to start

Start a free trial, then use the white-glove build so you do not spend your first weeks setting things up. Your clients, programs and content are imported for you during onboarding, and you can export everything as a ZIP (roster, notes, check-ins, goals, habits, sessions and form responses) if you ever leave.

Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. From Create, then "We'll build it for you · FREE", you describe what you want built: a website, funnel, offer or sales page, program, course outline and written material, coaching flow, form, email sequence, link in bio, lead quiz, event or automation. You can attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files such as your logo, photos or existing copy. The Coachful team builds it inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours. Nothing is invented: no fake credentials, testimonials or prices, and gaps are left for you to fill. It does not include recording videos, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing. One recent example: a business mentor for beauty professionals got a 12-week mentorship sales page, a free start-up-guide funnel and rewritten follow-up emails. Frequently asked questions

Is Everfit or PT Distinction cheaper?

On base price, Everfit is cheaper at most client counts, and it has a free plan for 5 clients. Once you add Autoflow automation, payments and meal plans, PT Distinction is often cheaper, because its pricing page lists those features on every plan. At 50 clients, PT Distinction Master ($89.90) is cheaper than Everfit Pro ($95) even before add-ons.

Does PT Distinction have a free plan?

No. PT Distinction offers a one-month free trial and says you can cancel in the first month and pay nothing. After that, Basic is $19.90 per month for 3 clients, as listed in October 2026.

Which one gives me my own branded app?

PT Distinction includes your own custom-branded iOS and Android apps from its Pro plan at $59.90 per month. Everfit lists custom branding on Pro and white-label options on its quoted Enterprise plan for 500+ clients.

Does Everfit include automation?

Not in the base plans. Everfit sells automation as Autoflow, from $29 per month for the first 30 active clients and tiered after that, as listed in October 2026. PT Distinction lists automated workflows and scheduled email and SMS in its full feature list on every plan.

Can I build a website or sell courses with either tool?

Neither pricing page shows a course builder, website builder, funnels or email marketing. PT Distinction Pro lists website integration, which connects the app to a site you already have. If you want those in the same login as your training delivery, Coachful includes them in your Coachful membership.

Which has better reviews?

On Trustpilot in October 2026, PT Distinction showed 4.8 from 297 reviews and Everfit showed 2.7 from 16 reviews. Everfit's small review count makes its score volatile, so read individual reviews rather than relying on the average.

What is Coachful's free white-glove service?

It is a free build service on every Coachful plan. You describe what you want (a website, funnel, program, course outline, email sequence and more), attach links and files, and the Coachful team builds it inside your account, usually within about 24 hours. It does not include recording videos, logo design or ad management.

Does Coachful sync with Garmin, Fitbit or Apple Health?

No. Coachful has no Garmin, Fitbit, Whoop or Oura sync, and Apple Health sync is not publicly available. Clients log workouts, set history, measurements and progress photos inside the app instead.

Is Coachful a good fit for a pure online personal trainer?

It can be, through the Fitness & Nutrition pack, especially if you also want booking, payments, a website and a community. If you only need workout programming and macro tracking and want the lowest possible bill, Everfit or PT Distinction may suit you better.

Can I move my clients over if I switch?

With Coachful, your clients, programs and content are imported for you during onboarding. Neither Everfit nor PT Distinction documents its data export on the pages we checked, so ask each vendor what you can take with you before you commit.
