Paperbell vs Stan Store: Which Fits Your Coaching in 2026?

Paperbell vs Stan Store comes down to what you sell. Paperbell is built to run a 1:1 coaching practice: packages, booking, contracts, payments and a client portal under one flat plan. Stan Store is a link-in-bio storefront built to sell digital products, courses and paid calls to an audience that finds you on social media. If most of your income is private coaching packages, Paperbell fits better. If most of it comes from Instagram or TikTok followers buying downloads, mini-courses and calls, Stan Store fits better. If you need both, plus a way to keep clients moving between sessions, neither covers the full job on its own.
This guide compares the two on price, features and what your clients actually see, using what each vendor documents on its own pages as listed in October 2026 and what public reviewers report. We make Coachful, a coaching platform that covers both sides in one login, so we also explain when it beats both and when it does not.
What is the short answer by use case?
Pick by the shape of your business, not by the feature list. Here is the quick version.
- Mostly 1:1 coaching packages, sold through referrals or a website: Paperbell. It handles packages, contracts, scheduling and payment in one checkout.
- Mostly digital products and low-ticket offers sold from a social profile: Stan Store. Its storefront is designed for a mobile bio link, and Creator includes AutoDM for Instagram.
- Coaching programs where clients work between sessions (habits, check-ins, weekly goals) plus a course, a community and marketing: neither. This is where Coachful fits.
- Tight budget, testing an idea: Stan Store's Creator plan is the cheaper entry point of the two, but it has no contracts or client records.
- You want email broadcasts, upsells and discount codes: on Stan Store that means Creator Pro; Paperbell has email workflows but no broadcast marketing in its feature list.

How do Paperbell and Stan Store compare side by side?
Paperbell is coaching admin with a simple website; Stan Store is a sales storefront with light booking. The ranking criteria we use in this article: one login for the whole client journey, delivery between sessions, total stack cost, and setup effort (including whether someone will build it for you).
| Criterion | Built for | 1:1 booking | Contracts and e-signature | Client records | Courses and digital products | Habits and check-ins | Email marketing | Native client app |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | Coaches who deliver programs, solo or small team | Yes, with two-way calendar sync, buffers and intake questions | Yes, sent before the first call | Yes: goals, check-ins, habits, notes, payments, status | Yes: courses with drip, downloads, bundles | Yes: daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins | Yes: broadcasts and multi-step sequences | Yes, your branding inside the Coachful app |
| Paperbell | Solo 1:1 coaches | Yes | Yes | Basic client area with notes | Digital downloads and online classes listed | No (older profile) | Email workflows | No, mobile browser (older profile) |
| Stan Store | Creators selling from social media | Calendar booking for paid calls | No | No, not a CRM | Yes: unlimited course builder, digital products | No | Only on Creator Pro | Mobile storefront (not a client app) |
The pattern is clear. Paperbell covers the paperwork of coaching and stops at the session. Stan Store covers the sale and stops at the checkout. Neither gives clients a structured place to do the work between calls.

How much do Paperbell and Stan Store cost?
Paperbell has one plan at $97 a month or $970 a year; Stan Store has Creator at $29 a month and Creator Pro at $99 a month, as listed in October 2026. Both say they take no extra cut of your sales, so the real difference is what each plan includes.
| Platform and plan | Monthly | Billed yearly | Client or customer limit | Platform fee on sales | Trial |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients | Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients | Lower plans cap clients; Pro is unlimited: Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients | 0% platform fee; Stripe or Razorpay processing only | A free trial |
| Paperbell (single plan) | $97 | $970 a year (about $80.83 a month) | Unlimited clients, sessions and packages | "No additional transaction fees"; processor fees apply | "Try For Free"; help center described a 7-day trial in July 2026; 30-day money-back guarantee |
| Stan Store Creator | $29 | $300 a year (about $25 a month) | Unlimited products and customers, one store | 0% Stan fee; Stripe or PayPal processing | 14 days; first month charged when it ends |
| Stan Store Creator Pro | $99 | $948 a year (about $79 a month) | Unlimited products and customers | 0% Stan fee; Stripe or PayPal processing | 14 days; first month charged when it ends |

What does a year actually cost?
On monthly billing, Paperbell is $1,164 a year, which is why its pricing page frames the $970 annual price as "2 Mo Free!". Stan Store Creator is $348 a year on monthly billing or $300 on annual; Creator Pro is $1,188 monthly or $948 annual. Stan Store does not have a /pricing page today; these figures come from its own pricing article (updated July 22, 2026) and help center. For the full breakdown, see our Paperbell pricing guide and our Stan Store pricing guide.
What does the stack cost once you fill the gaps?
The subscription is rarely the whole bill. A coach on Stan Store who sells 1:1 packages still needs somewhere to send contracts and keep client notes, which usually means a second tool. A coach on Paperbell who wants to sell a course to a social audience, run a community or send newsletters usually adds a course platform and an email service. As an illustration only: running both Paperbell and Stan Store Creator Pro on monthly billing comes to $196 a month, or $2,352 a year, before any email tool, community app or processor fees. That is the "stack" problem: each tool is reasonable, but together they cost more and split your client's experience across logins.
Processing fees are separate on every option here. Stripe charges its own rate on every card payment no matter which platform you use, and several vendors in our research list the standard US rate as 2.9% plus 30 cents. Check your own Stripe account for the rate that applies to you.
How do booking and scheduling compare?
Paperbell's scheduling is built around coaching packages; Stan Store's booking is built around selling a single paid call. That difference matters more than any setting.
In Paperbell, a client buys a package (say, six sessions) and books those sessions from their client area. The package, the payment and the booking are linked, so you can see who has sessions left. Paperbell's pricing page lists scheduling and video call integration among the included features. Our Paperbell review covers how this works in more detail.
In Stan Store, calendar booking is a product type on your storefront: a follower opens it from your bio link, pays and picks a time. It works well for one-off strategy calls or paid consultations. It is not designed to track a package of sessions across months or to tie bookings to a client record, because Stan Store does not keep client records in the coaching sense.
Coachful's booking pages add availability rules, buffers, minimum notice and time-zone detection, with two-way Google, Apple/iCloud and Outlook calendar sync. Sessions can use built-in video or auto-created Zoom, Meet or Teams links. Reminders go by email, plus SMS 24 hours before and WhatsApp one hour before once messaging is enabled. You can sell paid sessions and session credits and ask intake questions at booking. See our coaching scheduling software page for the full list.

How do contracts, payments and client records compare?
Paperbell includes contracts and client records; Stan Store does not offer either. If you coach 1:1 for meaningful fees, this is often the deciding row.
A coaching agreement sets out scope, confidentiality, fees, cancellation and the fact that coaching is not therapy. The ICF's Code of Ethics asks coaches to explain and agree on the terms of the coaching relationship before it starts. Paperbell builds that into its checkout: the client signs the contract and pays in the same flow. Stan Store has no contract feature, so coaches who use it for packages typically send agreements through a separate e-signature tool or skip them, which is a risk worth avoiding.
On payments, both connect to Stripe and PayPal. Stan Store's Creator Pro also lists Stan Payments, Afterpay and Klarna, plus discount codes, limited-quantity offers and upsells or order bumps. Paperbell ties payments to coaching packages. Stan Store does not offer invoices, so if clients or their employers need one per payment, check that before you commit.
For client records, Paperbell gives you a client list with history and notes. Stan Store gives you a customer list you can export to CSV; it is a buyer list, not a coaching record.
In Coachful, coaching agreements with e-signature go out before the first call and are stored on the client record. Payments run through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account: one-time, subscriptions, payment plans, order bumps, coupons, refunds, Apple Pay and Google Pay, and Stripe Tax, with an invoice per transaction plus manual invoices. One honest gap: Coachful does not support PayPal, so if many of your clients insist on paying by PayPal, both Paperbell and Stan Store handle that and Coachful does not. Read more on coaching contracts in Coachful.

How do marketing, funnels and email compare?
Stan Store is the stronger marketing tool of the two, but its best marketing features sit on the $99 Creator Pro plan. Paperbell keeps marketing simple.
Stan Store's Creator plan includes the storefront, lead magnets and email collection, analytics and AutoDM for Instagram, which replies to comments or messages with a link. Creator Pro adds email broadcasts and flows, funnels of up to 20 products, affiliate management, contact import, and Meta, Google, Pinterest and TikTok pixels. For a creator whose audience lives on social media, that is a practical set.
Paperbell includes a coaching website and email workflows, but its feature list does not include newsletters, launch sequences or ad-tracked funnels. Our Paperbell website guide explains what its site builder covers and where coaches usually outgrow it.
Coachful includes a section-based website builder with blog, custom domain, SEO settings and 30 designed homepage templates; booking, application, lead-magnet and checkout funnels with pixels and UTM tracking; a link-in-bio page that sells; and email lists, broadcasts and multi-step sequences with triggers, delays, branching and A/B splits. All of that is included in your Coachful membership rather than gated to a higher tier. See the coach website builder page.

Here is a short walkthrough of building a funnel in Coachful:
How do courses, community and group coaching compare?
Stan Store has a real course builder and a community on its entry plan; Paperbell has online classes and digital downloads but no full course platform or community, per its older profile.
Stan Store's Creator plan lists an unlimited course builder, recurring subscriptions and community. That makes it a reasonable home for a mini-course, a template pack or a paid membership. Its review covers where it stops: courses and community content cannot be exported and must be rebuilt elsewhere if you leave (older profile).
Paperbell's pricing page now lists online classes and digital downloads, and group coaching is supported. Our guide to group coaching on Paperbell explains what it does and where it stops. Earlier profile research found no LMS-style courses or community.
Coachful includes courses with modules, lessons, drip and completion tracking, plus downloads, videos, books, AI tools, events and bundles, all delivered into the client's branded home and app. The community has a feed, group chat, direct messages and video events, and a cohort group is created automatically when someone enrolls in a program. There are also 48 course templates with quizzes. Learn more on our group coaching software page.

What does the client experience look like on each?
On Paperbell, clients get a portal to book, pay, sign and see their package; on Stan Store, buyers get a checkout and product access. Neither gives them daily structure.
Paperbell. Your client signs up through a package page, signs the contract, pays and lands in a client area where they can book sessions and see shared files. Paperbell has no native mobile app per its older profile, so clients use it in a mobile browser. For many 1:1 coaches that is enough: the client shows up to calls and the portal handles admin. See what Paperbell clients see.
Stan Store. Your follower taps your bio link, sees a mobile storefront, buys and gets access to the product, course or booking. The experience is quick and familiar, which is why it converts well for low-ticket offers. After the purchase, there is no coaching relationship inside the tool: no client portal, no tasks, no progress view.
Coachful. Clients get one branded home and app (your branding inside the Coachful app) with their next session, programs, weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals with progress bars and streaks, plus your courses and community. You see their check-ins and habits on the client record, with a status of thriving, active, quiet or at risk, so you know who needs a nudge before the next call.

Public reviews point in the same direction as the feature lists. As seen in October 2026, Stan Store has a Trustpilot score of 4.7 from 2,205 reviews and Paperbell 3.5 from 14 reviews. Paperbell's sample is small, so a few reviews move the score a lot; treat it as a signal to read the reviews yourself, not a verdict.
Which should you pick: Paperbell or Stan Store?
Choose Paperbell if your business is private coaching packages; choose Stan Store if your business is selling to a social audience. Here is how that plays out for common coach types.
| Coach type | Best fit | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Coachful: coaches running programs with work between sessions, plus courses, community and marketing | Coachful | One login for booking, contracts, payments, programs, habits, courses, community, website and email |
| Executive or business coach with 6 to 15 private clients from referrals | Paperbell | Packages, contracts and booking in one checkout; little need for social selling |
| Fitness or nutrition creator selling templates and guides on Instagram | Stan Store | Mobile storefront, AutoDM and low-ticket products; no client records needed for downloads |
| Life coach selling a mini-course and occasional paid calls | Stan Store Creator | Course builder and booking on the entry plan |
| Career coach with packages and a waitlist | Paperbell | Contracts and session tracking matter more than a storefront |
| Coach running both a social audience and 1:1 clients | Neither alone | You would need both tools, or one platform that covers both |
Pick Paperbell over Coachful if...
Pick Paperbell over Coachful if you coach 1:1 only, want a single flat price with unlimited clients, need PayPal at checkout, and have no plans for courses, community or between-session programs. It is a focused tool and its single plan is easy to understand. If you later want more, our Paperbell migration guide walks through the move.
Pick Stan Store over Coachful if...
Pick Stan Store over Coachful if your income is mainly low-ticket digital products sold to social followers, you want Instagram AutoDM, you need Afterpay or Klarna (Creator Pro), or you want the lowest entry price and do not need contracts or client records. If your coaching side grows, see how to migrate from Stan Store.
What is the third option, and when does Coachful beat both?
Coachful beats both when you deliver programs, not just sessions or products, and want one login for the whole client journey. It does not beat them for every coach, and we say where below.

What Coachful is and who it is for
Coachful is a coaching platform. One subscription covers booking, payments, contracts, program delivery with habits and check-ins, courses, a community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant, with one login for the coach and one branded app for the client. It is built for coaches who deliver programs, not just sessions; for solo coaches growing into a small team; and for coaches replacing four to six tools. The company is based in Tallinn, Estonia, and has a Trustpilot score of 4.5 from 21 reviews.
Where it beats Paperbell
- Between-session delivery. Multi-week programs with weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins and streaks. Paperbell has no goal or habit tracking (older profile).
- Courses and community. Full course builder with drip and completion tracking, community feed, group chat and video events, with cohort groups created on enrollment.
- Marketing. Funnels with pixels and UTM tracking, broadcasts and multi-step email sequences.
- Client app. A branded app for clients rather than a mobile browser.
- Teams. Studio and Agency plans add coach seats with per-coach availability and staff permissions; Paperbell is one price per coach.
For a direct breakdown, see Coachful vs Paperbell.
Where it beats Stan Store
- Coaching records. Every client has goals, check-ins, habits, notes, intake answers, tags, payments and sessions in one place, with an AI briefing per client.
- Contracts. E-signed coaching agreements before the first call; Stan Store has none.
- Email without a tier jump. Broadcasts and sequences are included in your Coachful membership rather than reserved for a higher plan.
- Programs. Clients get structured weeks, not just access to a product.
Coachful also has a link-in-bio page that sells, so a coach moving off Stan Store keeps a bio link without a second tool. Our Stan Store alternatives roundup compares more options.

What else is included
Michelle, the built-in AI assistant, works from your live practice data. It builds programs, drafts emails and content, summarizes recorded sessions, briefs you before sessions, and can give optional private feedback on your own coaching against ICF Core Competencies 3 to 8. Questions and planning are included in the membership; confirmed builds and changes use AI credits. An AI Coach, configured by you, lets selected clients chat with an AI version of you between sessions. ICF credential tracking counts coaching hours and distinct clients against ACC, PCC and MCC thresholds and exports an ICF client coaching log. Read more on the AI coaching assistant page.

What Coachful does not do
- It does not support PayPal; payments run through Stripe Connect or Razorpay.
- It has no permanent free plan.
- It is not HIPAA-certified and does not sign a BAA, so it is not for clinical record-keeping or insurance billing.
- The client app ships under the Coachful listing with your branding, not under your own App Store account.
- It has no Garmin, Fitbit, Whoop or Oura sync, and Apple Health sync is not available publicly.
- It is not a course marketplace and has no third-party plugins.
- Its affiliate program tracks links, clicks, conversions and revenue, but payouts are recorded manually, not sent by Coachful.
If any of those is a must-have, Paperbell or Stan Store may suit you better for now.
Will someone set it up for you?
Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. On every plan, you can open Create > We'll build it for you · FREE and describe what you want built: a website, funnel, sales page, program, course outline and written material, email sequence, link in bio, lead quiz, event, automation or form. Attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files such as logos, photos, brand guides and copy. The Coachful team builds it inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours. Nothing gets invented: no fake credentials, testimonials or prices, and gaps are left for you to fill. It does not include recording videos, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing.
Recent anonymized examples: a somatic coach leaving Kajabi had the homepage and About page rebuilt and the contact form connected; a business mentor for beauty professionals got a 12-week mentorship sales page, a free start-up-guide funnel and rewritten follow-up emails; a leadership coach with a Squarespace renewal days away got one clean homepage with a repeated "talk with me" button. Clients, programs and content are also imported for you during onboarding. Read how it works in our white-glove service guide.

How to start
Start a free trial, then request a white-glove build of your site or first program so you are not setting it up alone. Plans are flat and monthly; lower plans cap the number of clients and Pro is unlimited (current plans: Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients). If you coach around 15 clients, the plan that fits is Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients. Monthly plans cancel in one click, and a full client data export as a ZIP is available if you ever leave. New coaches can start at Coachful for new coaches.
What should you check before switching or signing up?
Check data export, payment methods and trial terms first, because those are the hardest to fix later.
- Export. Stan Store exports contacts to CSV, but course and community content must be rebuilt elsewhere (older profile). Paperbell keeps client list and history in its Clients area; a documented CSV export was not verified (older profile). Coachful exports a full ZIP of roster, notes, check-ins, goals, habits, sessions and form responses, plus course export.
- Payment methods. If you rely on PayPal, Afterpay or Klarna, confirm the platform supports them. Coachful supports Apple Pay and Google Pay through Stripe, not PayPal.
- Trial terms. Stan Store's help center says the first month is charged when the 14-day trial ends. Paperbell's help center described a 7-day trial in July 2026 with the public site offline and client messages and SMS off during it, plus a 30-day money-back guarantee.
- Active subscriptions. Moving recurring payments between platforms usually means asking clients to re-subscribe. Our guide to switching from Paperbell without losing a client covers how to time it.
Frequently asked questions
Is Paperbell or Stan Store better for life coaches?
It depends on how you sell. A life coach selling 1:1 packages through referrals is usually better served by Paperbell, because it includes contracts and session tracking. A life coach selling mini-courses and calls to a social audience will find Stan Store's storefront easier. If you do both, a platform that covers programs and selling in one place avoids running two tools.
Does Stan Store have contracts or client management?
No. Stan Store does not offer contracts, invoices or client records, as its plan pages describe in October 2026. It keeps a customer list you can export to CSV. Coaches who sell packages on Stan Store usually add a separate e-signature tool.
Does Paperbell have a mobile app?
Not a native one, according to its older profile: clients use Paperbell in a mobile browser. That works for booking and paying. If you want clients checking in daily, a native client app makes that easier.
Do Paperbell and Stan Store charge transaction fees?
Neither adds its own fee on sales, as listed in October 2026. Paperbell says "no additional transaction fees" and Stan Store says you keep 100% of every sale. Stripe or PayPal still charge their own processing fees on each payment.
Can I use Paperbell and Stan Store together?
Yes, some coaches use Stan Store as the bio link for low-ticket products and Paperbell for packages. On monthly billing, Paperbell plus Stan Store Creator Pro is $196 a month as an example. The trade-off is two logins, two customer lists and a split experience for clients who buy both.
Which is cheaper, Paperbell or Stan Store?
Stan Store's Creator plan is the cheapest of the two at $29 a month, or $300 a year. Stan Store Creator Pro at $99 a month is slightly more than Paperbell's $97, but cheaper on annual billing ($948 against $970). Compare what each plan includes, not just the headline price.
Does Paperbell support courses?
Paperbell's pricing page lists online classes and digital downloads in October 2026. Earlier profile research found no LMS-style course builder or community. If courses are a main product, check whether its classes cover drip, modules and completion tracking for your needs.
What is Coachful's free white-glove service?
It is a free build service on every Coachful plan. You describe what you want (a website, funnel, program, course outline, email sequence and more), attach up to 8 links and 10 files, and the team builds it inside your account, usually within about 24 hours. It does not include video recording, logo design or ad management.
Is Coachful HIPAA-compliant?
No. Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and does not sign a BAA, so it is not for clinical records or insurance billing. Health coaches should keep coaching within scope and refer clients to a licensed professional for diagnosis or treatment.
Can Coachful replace my Stan Store link in bio?
Yes. Coachful includes a link-in-bio page that sells, along with checkout funnels and the website builder. Coachful does not offer PayPal, Afterpay or Klarna, so check whether your buyers rely on those, and confirm how you will handle Instagram comment replies that Stan Store's AutoDM covers today.
