Satori vs upcoach: Which Fits Your Coaching in 2026?

Satori vs upcoach comes down to what you sell. Satori is a practice-admin tool for one-to-one coaches: scheduling, packages, invoices, contracts and a client portal, priced by active clients, with PayPal and Stripe and no Satori fee on payments. upcoach is a program platform for group and cohort coaching: structured programs, progress dashboards and AI impact reports, priced by participants and seats, with a 1% to 2% upcoach fee on client payments below its top plans. If you mostly book and bill individual sessions, Satori fits better. If you run cohorts or corporate programs, upcoach fits better.
Neither one covers the whole business, though. Satori has no courses, community or landing pages according to its September 2026 profile, and upcoach has no contracts or invoicing according to its older profile. That gap is why this comparison ends with a third option. We make Coachful, so read that section with that in mind; we have tried to be just as specific about where it falls short.
Everything below comes from what each vendor documents on its own pages and what public reviewers report. Vendor prices are as listed in October 2026 unless marked otherwise, and we have not run hands-on tests of either product.

What is the short answer by use case?
Pick by the shape of your offer, not by the feature list. Here is the quick version before the detail.
- One-to-one life, career or wellness coach with fewer than 10 paying clients: Satori. Its Essentials plan is cheaper than any upcoach plan, it takes PayPal, and it handles contracts and invoices.
- Coach running group programs or cohorts of 20 or more people: upcoach. Programs, cohort dashboards and AI reports on participant progress are what it is built around.
- Executive or leadership coach selling to companies: upcoach from its Pro plan, which adds Admin, Facilitator and Sponsor roles so a client company can see progress.
- Coaching student logging pro bono hours: Satori's free Scholar plan, which is for people studying for a coaching certification and requires an application.
- Coach who wants booking, payments, contracts, programs, courses, community and a website in one login: neither. That is the case for Coachful, covered in the third-option section.
The criteria we weigh below: one login for the whole client journey, what clients get between sessions, the total cost of the stack you actually need, and how much setup work lands on you.
How do Satori and upcoach compare side by side?
Satori is a back office for sessions; upcoach is a delivery engine for programs. The table puts Coachful first because it is the benchmark we compare both against.
| Area | Coachful | Satori | upcoach |
|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | All-in-one coaching platform: booking, payments, contracts, programs, courses, community, website, email, AI assistant | Practice admin for one-to-one coaching | Group and cohort program platform |
| Best for | Coaches who deliver programs, not just sessions, and want to replace 4 to 6 tools | Solo coaches selling sessions and packages | Group programs, corporate cohorts, coaching firms |
| Scheduling | Booking pages, buffers, minimum notice, two-way Google, Apple and Outlook sync | Yes, core feature | Not a focus of the pricing page |
| Contracts and e-signature | Yes, sent before the first call | Yes | No (older profile) |
| Invoicing | Invoice per transaction plus manual invoices | Yes | No (older profile) |
| Programs with habits and check-ins | Yes: weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, streaks | Packages and programs, capped per plan (September 2026 profile) | Unlimited programs with progress dashboards |
| Courses | Yes, with drip and completion tracking | No (September 2026 profile) | Program content, not a course builder |
| Community | Feed, group chat, DMs, video events, automatic cohort groups | No (September 2026 profile) | Cohort programs; no community feed documented |
| Website and funnels | Website builder, blog, funnels, email sequences | No landing pages (September 2026 profile) | No |
| Payment processors | Stripe Connect or Razorpay; no PayPal | PayPal and Stripe | Stripe |
| Platform fee on client payments | 0% | None | 2% Starter, 1% Pro and Business, 0% Scale and Enterprise |
| Client mobile app | Coach's branding inside the Coachful app | No native app (September 2026 profile) | Branded app store app on Enterprise only |
| ICF hour tracking | Counts hours and clients against ACC, PCC, MCC; exports a log | Coaching-log export for ICF credentialing | Not documented |
| Free plan or trial | A free trial; no permanent free plan | 15-day trial; free Scholar plan for students | 14-day trial, no card |

The pattern is clear in the table. Satori gives you the paperwork side of a practice. upcoach gives you the delivery side of a group program. If you need both, you either pay for two tools plus a website builder and an email tool, or you look at a platform that combines them.
How does pricing compare?
Satori is cheaper to start, at $33 a month for up to 10 active paying clients; upcoach starts at $49 a month for 25 participants plus a 2% fee on payments. Satori's dollar figures come from its September 2026 profile because its pricing page renders prices with JavaScript and they did not load when the page was checked in October; its terms and the Essentials client cap were verified in October.
| Plan | Monthly price | Annual, per month | Client or participant limit | Fee on client payments |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients | Flat monthly plans; monthly plans cancel in one click | Lower plans cap clients; Pro is unlimited | 0% platform fee; Stripe or Razorpay processing only |
| Satori Scholar | $0 | $0 | Unlimited pro bono clients; for coaching students (apply) | None |
| Satori Essentials | $33 | About $27.50 (derived) | Up to 10 active paying clients | None |
| Satori Pro | $49 | About $40.83 (derived) | 50 active clients, 10 programs (September 2026 profile) | None |
| Satori Leader | $124 | About $103.33 (derived) | 150 active clients, 50 programs (September 2026 profile) | None |
| upcoach Starter | $49 | $49 | 25 participants, 1 seat | 2% |
| upcoach Pro | $99 | $99 | 100 participants, 2 seats | 1% |
| upcoach Business | $199 | $199 | 250 participants, 5 seats | 1% |
| upcoach Scale | $399 | $399 | 500 participants, 10 seats | 0% |
| upcoach Enterprise | Custom | Custom | 500+ participants | 0% |
Two details matter here. Satori's annual option is labelled "Get 2 Months Free", so the annual per-month figures above are our arithmetic (monthly price times 10, divided by 12), not printed numbers. upcoach's toggle also says "2 months free", but the annual totals it shows equal 12 times the monthly price, so we list them as the same; check the page at checkout. For the full breakdowns, see our Satori pricing guide and upcoach pricing guide.

What does the transaction fee cost in practice?
upcoach's fee sits on top of Stripe's processing, so it grows with your revenue. Take an illustrative coach who collects $4,000 a month through the platform. On upcoach Starter, 2% is $80 a month on top of the $49 subscription, so about $129. On Pro, 1% is $40 plus $99, so about $139. Satori charges no fee of its own, so the same coach on Satori Pro pays $49 plus normal PayPal or Stripe processing. These are examples, not quotes; plug in your own monthly revenue.
What about add-ons and refunds?
upcoach sells extra participants at $99 a month per 100 and extra seats at $99 a month, both only on Business and Scale. It offers a 14-day trial with no card and a 14-day money-back guarantee on the first paid subscription. Satori's trial is 15 days with unrestricted access and no card until you continue, and it refunds if you ask within 30 days of signing up. Satori counts only active clients toward your tier, which helps coaches with a long list of past clients.

How do scheduling and session management compare?
Satori is the stronger scheduler of the two, because sessions are its core job. Its Essentials plan is pitched around booking discovery sessions, and its higher plans raise booking limits (60 bookings on Essentials and 120 on Pro per the September 2026 profile, unlimited on Leader). One gap reported in that profile: no native Zoom integration, so you add meeting links yourself.
upcoach treats sessions as part of a program rather than as a standalone booking page, and its pricing page does not lead with scheduling features. If your practice lives on a public booking link that strangers click, upcoach is the weaker fit.
In Coachful, booking pages take availability rules, buffers, minimum notice and time-zone detection, sync both ways with Google, Apple/iCloud and Outlook calendars, and create Zoom, Meet or Teams links automatically (or use built-in video). Reminders go by email, plus SMS 24 hours and WhatsApp 1 hour before once messaging is enabled. See scheduling software for coaches for the detail.

Which handles contracts, invoices and payments better?
Satori does, by a wide margin. It sends contracts and invoices and takes payments through PayPal or Stripe with no Satori cut. upcoach's older profile lists no contracts or invoicing, so a coach on upcoach usually adds a separate e-signature tool and sends invoices from Stripe or an accounting app.
The PayPal point is real for some coaches: if a share of your clients insists on paying by PayPal, Satori supports it and upcoach (Stripe only) does not. Coachful does not support PayPal either.
Coachful sends a coaching agreement with e-signature before the first call and stores it on the client record. Payments run through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account, with one-time payments, subscriptions, payment plans, order bumps, coupons, refunds, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Stripe Tax, and an invoice for each transaction. Coachful's platform fee has been 0% since August 2026. More on coaching contracts and payment software for coaches.

Which is better for programs and group coaching?
upcoach is better for programs, and this is the main reason to choose it. Every plan includes unlimited programs, progress dashboards and AI insights, and every plan now includes AI impact reports (3 a month on Starter, 15 on Pro, 50 on Business) plus access from Claude or ChatGPT through MCP. Pro adds brand colors, logo and custom domain, and Admin, Facilitator and Sponsor roles, which matter when a company is paying for its managers to go through your program.
Satori supports packages and programs, but its September 2026 profile caps them at 3 programs on Essentials, 10 on Pro and 50 on Leader, and lists group coaching from Pro upward. It is built to package sessions, not to run a twelve-week cohort with daily work.
Coachful's programs run on weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals with progress bars and streaks, and enrolling clients in a program creates a cohort group automatically. If group work is your main offer, our group coaching software page goes further.

What about courses, community and marketing?
Neither tool covers this well. Satori's September 2026 profile lists no landing pages, courses or community. upcoach is a program platform, not a course builder or a website tool, and neither offers email sequences or funnels in the material we reviewed.
In practice, both stacks look something like this: the coaching tool, plus a website builder, plus an email marketing tool, plus a course or community platform if you sell one. That is three or four subscriptions and three or four logins for your clients. Our upcoach vs Kajabi comparison covers one common pairing.
Coachful includes courses with modules, drip and completion tracking; a community feed with group chat, DMs and video events; a section-based website builder with blog, custom domain and 30 designed homepage templates; booking, application, lead-magnet and checkout funnels; and email lists, broadcasts and multi-step sequences, all in your Coachful membership.

How does AI compare?
upcoach leans into AI more than Satori does. Its AI insights and monthly AI impact reports summarize participant progress, and MCP access lets you query your upcoach data from Claude or ChatGPT. The Satori material we reviewed does not list AI features.
Coachful's built-in assistant, Michelle, works from your live practice data: it builds programs, drafts emails and content, summarizes recorded sessions, briefs you before each session and can give private feedback on your own coaching against ICF Core Competencies 3 to 8. Questions and planning are included in the membership; confirmed builds and changes use AI credits. Coachful also has an AI Coach, an AI version of you that clients you select can chat with between sessions, which you configure. See the AI coaching assistant page.
What is the client experience like on each?
On Satori, clients get a web portal to book, pay, sign and see their sessions; there is no native mobile app according to the September 2026 profile. On upcoach, participants get a program space with their tasks and progress, and a branded app store app is reserved for Enterprise.
The difference that matters most to clients is what happens between sessions. Satori's portal is mostly logistics: when is my next session, what do I owe, what did I sign. upcoach gives participants structured program work and visible progress, which is closer to what a cohort member needs day to day. Neither combines both with a course library, a community and the coach's website in one place.
In Coachful, a client has one branded home: next session, programs, habits, check-ins, goals with progress, documents, courses and community, on the web and in the Coachful app under your branding. Coachful's app is not your own App Store listing, and that is worth knowing if a custom app matters to you.

Here is a short walkthrough of how a client journey is set up in Coachful:
What do public reviewers say?
There is little public review volume for either tool, so weigh ratings lightly. Satori's Trustpilot page existed with 0 reviews when checked in October 2026; its older Capterra profile showed 4.5 from 13 reviews. upcoach's Trustpilot page also had 0 reviews; its older Capterra profile showed 4.9 from 8 reviews. Capterra blocked our checker in October, so those figures are from earlier profiles. Coachful's Trustpilot rating is 4.5 from 21 reviews. For more on each tool, see our Satori review.
How do data export and switching compare?
Both tools let you take some data with you, but neither documents a full export. Satori's September 2026 profile lists a coaching-log export for ICF credentialing; a general client-data export was not verified. upcoach's older profile says clients export to CSV, including custom fields, from its Admin Panel.
Coachful exports full client data as a ZIP (roster, notes, check-ins, goals, habits, sessions and form responses) plus course exports, and the team imports your clients, programs and content for you during onboarding. If you are leaving Satori, our guide on how to migrate from Satori walks through the order of steps.
Which should you pick for which coach?
Choose by your main offer and by who pays you. This table sums it up, with Coachful first.
| Tool | Pick it if you are... | Skip it if you need... |
|---|---|---|
| Coachful | A coach selling programs, sessions and content who wants one login for you and one branded app for clients | PayPal, HIPAA-covered clinical records, or your own App Store app |
| Satori | A solo one-to-one coach with a small roster, a coaching student, or a coach whose clients pay by PayPal | Courses, community, a website, or structured cohort programs |
| upcoach | A group or corporate coach running cohorts with sponsor reporting and AI progress reports | Contracts, invoices, a public booking page, or no fee on revenue below $399 a month |
Life and career coaches
If you sell packages of one-to-one sessions, Satori covers the admin at a lower price than upcoach. Once you add a signature program or a course, Satori's lack of courses and community starts to cost you extra tools. Our Satori alternatives for life coaches list covers the options; Coachful's page for life coaches shows its setup.
Executive and leadership coaches
upcoach's Sponsor role and cohort reporting suit corporate engagements, which is its strongest case. You will still need contracts and invoices from elsewhere. See Coachful for executive coaches and our Satori alternatives for business coaches.
Health and wellness coaches
Neither tool is a clinical system, and nor is Coachful, which is not HIPAA-certified. Coaching is not treatment: if a client describes symptoms, medication questions or signs of an eating disorder or mental health crisis, refer them to a licensed clinician. For habit-based programs, upcoach's program structure is closer to what you need than Satori's session focus. See Satori alternatives for health coaches.
Coaches working toward an ICF credential
Satori's free Scholar plan and its coaching-log export are useful while you train. Coachful counts coaching hours and distinct clients against ACC, PCC and MCC thresholds and exports an ICF client coaching log with paid and pro bono hours; see ICF hour tracking. The credential requirements themselves are set by the International Coaching Federation.

Is there a third option that beats both?
Yes, for most coaches who sell more than sessions: Coachful. We make Coachful, so here is the honest version, including when it does not win.

What Coachful is. Coachful is a coaching platform. One subscription covers booking, payments, contracts, program delivery with habits and check-ins, courses, a community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant, with one login for the coach and one branded app for the client. It is built for coaches who deliver programs and not just sessions, for solo coaches growing into a small team, and for coaches replacing 4 to 6 tools. The company is based in Tallinn, Estonia.
Where it beats Satori. Everything Satori does for a one-to-one practice (booking, contracts, invoices, payments, a client portal) plus programs with daily habits and check-ins, courses, community, a website, funnels and email. Clients get an app experience under your branding instead of a web portal only.
Where it beats upcoach. Contracts with e-signature, invoices, public booking pages with calendar sync, and a 0% platform fee on every plan, where upcoach charges 1% or 2% until its $399 Scale plan. It also adds a website, funnels, email and courses that upcoach does not offer. Team plans (Studio and Agency) add coach seats with per-coach availability and staff permissions.
Where it does not win. Choose Satori if your clients need to pay by PayPal, or if you are a coaching student who qualifies for its no-cost Scholar plan. Coachful has no PayPal, and every Coachful plan is paid once the trial ends. Choose upcoach if you sell to large organizations and need a branded app in the app stores under your own account (upcoach Enterprise) or MCP access from Claude or ChatGPT. Coachful is also not HIPAA-certified, has no Salesforce or HubSpot integration and no multi-stage deal board for large sales teams.
Pricing. Coachful uses flat monthly plans; lower plans cap the number of clients and Pro is unlimited (current plans: Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients). For a coach with 25 clients, the comparison point against upcoach Starter is Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients, with no fee on what you collect.

Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. On every plan, you can ask the Coachful team to build things for you from Create > We'll build it for you · FREE: a website, funnel, sales page, program, course outline and written material, email sequence, form, lead quiz, event or automation. You describe what you want, attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files, and the team builds it inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours. Nothing is invented: no fake credentials, testimonials or prices, and gaps are left for you to fill. It does not include recording videos, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing. One recent example: a business mentor for beauty professionals got a 12-week mentorship sales page, a free start-up-guide funnel and rewritten follow-up emails. Read more about the free white-glove service.

How to start. Start a free trial, request the free white-glove build for your website or first program, and let the team import your clients, programs and content during onboarding. You can compare Coachful against other tools on our comparison hub or the Satori alternative page.
How do the total stack costs compare?
The subscription price is only part of the bill. Here is an illustrative stack for a coach with 20 active clients who sells one group program and wants a website and email list. Tool prices for the add-on categories vary, so we describe them rather than invent figures.
| Stack | Coaching tool | Also needed | Fees on client payments |
|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients | Nothing for booking, contracts, programs, courses, community, website or email | 0% platform fee; Stripe or Razorpay processing |
| Satori | Pro at $49 a month (September 2026 profile) | Website builder, email tool, course or community tool, video meeting tool | None from Satori; PayPal or Stripe processing |
| upcoach | Starter at $49 a month | E-signature tool, invoicing, booking tool, website builder, email tool | 2% upcoach fee plus Stripe processing |
The cost that does not show in a table is time: each extra tool is another setup, another login for clients and another place where a payment or signature can go missing.

What is the verdict on Satori vs upcoach?
Satori wins for solo one-to-one coaches who want simple, low-cost admin with PayPal support. upcoach wins for group and corporate coaches who need cohort delivery, sponsor roles and AI progress reports and can live with a fee on revenue. If you want what both do in one place, plus a website, courses and community, Coachful is the stronger pick. Frequently asked questions
Is Satori or upcoach cheaper?
Satori is cheaper to start: Essentials is $33 a month for up to 10 active paying clients, against $49 a month for upcoach Starter. upcoach also adds a 2% fee on client payments on Starter and 1% on Pro and Business. Satori charges no fee of its own.

Its older profile lists no contracts or invoicing, and the October 2026 pricing page does not add them. Most upcoach users handle signatures and invoices in separate tools or through Stripe.
Does Satori support group coaching?
Yes, from the Pro plan according to its September 2026 profile, with program caps on each tier. It is built around sessions and packages, so long cohort programs with daily work are a better fit for upcoach or Coachful.
Which one takes PayPal?
Satori takes PayPal and Stripe. upcoach uses Stripe only. Coachful uses Stripe Connect or Razorpay and does not support PayPal.
Do Satori or upcoach have a mobile app?
Satori had no native mobile app in its September 2026 profile; clients use a web portal. upcoach offers a branded app in the app stores only on Enterprise. Coachful clients use the Coachful app with your branding.
Is there a free version of either tool?
Satori has a free Scholar plan for people studying for a coaching certification, by application. upcoach has no free plan, only a 14-day trial with no card. Coachful has a free trial but no permanent free plan.

On every plan, the Coachful team builds things for you inside your own account, such as a website, funnel, program, course outline or email sequence, usually within about 24 hours. You describe the request and attach references and files. It does not include video recording, logo design or ad management.
Can I move from Satori or upcoach to Coachful?
Yes. Export what each tool allows (upcoach exports clients to CSV; Satori exports a coaching log), and the Coachful team imports your clients, programs and content during onboarding. Keep your old tool running until your active clients have moved.
Are Satori, upcoach or Coachful HIPAA-compliant?
Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and does not sign a BAA, so clinical records belong in a clinical system. Neither Satori's nor upcoach's material we reviewed offers HIPAA coverage. Coaching is not medical care; refer clients to a licensed clinician when health concerns come up.
